That's more profound than most people realize.....8 #1 albums on the Classical Chart, performances in 9 countries, over 350 concerts nationwide plus countless special appreances and private engagements since age 10 and 8 performances for Washington national events/celebrations. Two months after this concert she gave 8 outstanding performances on The Masked Singer season 3 just prior to the the Covid-19 quarantine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KQF51a9EnW8.html
Jackie, I miss you, please make a new RU-vid performance! I love your singing so much! This Pandemic has made it hard for all of us, but listening to you helps heal the soul! You never disappoint!
I read that Jackie asked for requests at this concert, which she has never done before to my knowledge, and her answer to one was "The Prayer". I presume that's why she sang it a cappella, the musicians having not rehearsed it. That demonstrates her capability as an artist to spontaneously deliver a song with perfect relative pitch. Her home videos at age 8 demonstrated her innate ability to carry a song from beginning to end without accompaniment and stay in key. Still there are detractors who insist that she relies upon auto-tune and other electronic enhancements, in an effort of course to diminish her vocal capabilities. Jackie is the most genuine performer I've witnessed in the past 30 years or so, always giving a straight forward rendition of a song without vocal gymnastics and embellishments, singing true to the way it was written. Few artists today have Jackie's integrity as a recording artist and performer. She is truly refreshing.
She asked specifically for something to sing Acapella. the first few requests were for "Angel", which she almost did, then a few for ""Over the Rainbow" came in, and she was distracted by hinting that it was already in the upcoming set. Then came a flurry for "the Prayer.
@@tunanorth Thanks. Maybe she will continue asking for requests. If so, sooner or later she may finally sing Mi Mancherai again as I and some have hoped.
Jackie, you captivated me with your angelic voice as a girl. Now you are a beautiful, young woman and I am even more captivated. I'm not sure how it happens, but your voice has such a supernatural quality to it that when you sing, everyone is captivated.
She is beautiful young woman on the inside with a true heart and gorgeous beautiful voice and the outside- she is gorgeous! I would give anything to have her close enough to attend a concert.
Any chance you live in Florida? She has 3 concerts there the first week of November to get her national tour back on the road after a well-deserved hiatus. Another concert in Palm Desert, Ca in March. Also, a new album is coming out this fall. Have you subscribed to her RU-vid channel?
This is so beautiful -- you know Susan Osborn got it right back in 2010 when she said " this gift could not have been given to a better child". She has grown up into such a beautiful lady with one of the most beautiful voices in the whole world.
I agree with other comments, this was one of the best if not the best vocals from Jackie videos in a great while, and STILL she can still choke me up with the beauty of her stunning voice. More...please more! Thanks you for this great video.
If she is this good when she loses her dresses (which we do want to see, they really are beautiful), we wont have to worry if it happens again. Lots of pros would have a meltdown with a logistics screwup like that, but if anything Jackie rose to the occasion, and became even better.
John Holzhey of course she came along way she will soon be 20 years old. But she was still wicked when she was a little girl and she sounded like an adult singing When she was little
Oh wow Jackie Evancho this is just a wonderful song. You are the best. Best voice ever. You deserve all of our attention when you sing. See I try to listen to you before I go to bed. It makes me sleep alot better. Don't ever stop singing Babygirl. YOU ARE AN AMAZING ANGEL. GOD BLESS YOU JACKIE EVANCHO I wish I could have you sing to me and in person every night before I go to sleep. My dream would come true. To meet you would be so much fun and I hope you enjoy life to the fullest.
I, for one love her casual look...it really shows what a great body shape she hides under the gowns. She was 19 at this show and built like a model. Her voice as per usual was outstanding!
certes , elle a du talent , et l'on a souvent tendance à croire que c'est la plus belle du monde , quand on ne connait pas d'autres voix comme SISSEL KYRKIEBO la Norvégienne ou Hayley WESTENRA la NéoZélandaise éo
Everytime I look at and hear her I think "I must be dreaming!" Her renditions of these well known classics put previous artists in the shade. Andrew Lloyd Webber must surely thrilled to her singing 'All I Ask of You'. Jackie's gotten way better!
She doesn't need what? Did you listen to her introduction, that her luggage with her dresses was lost? Or, were you too distracted by the hole in her jeans? She had no choice but to perform in her travelling clothes. Give her a break! Her attitude was great.. Exactly! You came for the voice anyway".
That voice is very special there is non like it. I hear a lot of testimonials just like yours and that is such gift for all of us. It is nice that she grew into a beautiful young women it doesn't hurt her career and that's good for everyone to.
Absolutely amazing...She lands in CA, her baggage with her dresses was lost at the airport, so she comes out in her casual wear and sings just as gloriously as ever. Because it's not the flashy, sparkly dresses that matter...it's the young lady, her spirit and her voice that people pay their money to see and hear. Thanks for making this medley available to those of us who could not be there.
There was nothing "lost" She was just testing the waters to see if her wardrobe was really necessary, or didn't matter a damn. The latter being her default position from now on.
@@mrdewonderful1201 The following concert she wore those "gorgeous dresses" as usual...her "default position." She's never worn casual clothes on stage again.
David Foster once said that he does not think Jackie ever did anything to dissappoint an audience, and as far as I have seen, he is right. Which is rare, even the best can have an off night now and then, but Jackie never seems to. So here, knowing they might miss her dresses, her singing was even better, than the high level it normally was.
@@cl9786 With every new stuff that comes out from her I hope and pray and tremble, the seconds before I open it, she hopefully did not have "changed" her music...
@@馬君-q3v Jackie is a multi-talented, versatile artist and a musical genius of great passion who must explore, experiment and challenge herself. She will sing, record and perform songs that are meaningful to her regardless of the genre. That's who she is. She has said many times that she will not be limited to any genre or to how she sings. One has the choice to "grow with me", as she said, or not. I will support Jackie along her journey on whatever path is fulfilling to her because I believe in her integrity and sincerity as an artist and a genuine human being. Here are her performances on The Masked Singer this spring: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-54q_KPmr2pA.html&feature=emb_title And her recently released new single, "River" by Joni Mitchell: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SOiXqaJcWb8.html
Wow , just wow! I enjoyed the casualness of her comfort zone...sans dresses or other stage accoutrements ....just her and her absolutely stunning vocal talent!
Sensacional! Fantástico! Ouvir Jackie Evancho é alimentar a alma, elevar o espírito. Sua voz está cada vez mais doce, clara, límpida... Isto, que ela não tem nem 20 anos.
Ironic that the only time an airlines messed up my luggage San Jose was involved, and a concert was affected. We were flying into SLC for Christmas when my kids were small. We boarded a Delta flight in Dallas with Johnny Cash and June Carter. June was in fur head to toe, her furs probably cost about the same as my house. They got to know my kids on the flight as they were running into 1st class from our coach seats. When we landed in SLC people were skiing in the Mts an hour from the airport but others were golfing next to airport. 50 degrees. anyway June looked stunning in her furs. I had a hole poked in my luggage so I went to baggage claim. Johnny Cash road manager was in front of me in the line.. They had a concert that night in SLC but their equipment had ended up in SJC San Jose, California. And the claims guy kept telling Johnny's man there was no flight back from from SJC to SLC. Who kept telling him to charter a flight , Johnny Cash was on stage within hours. I wish I'd have had an iPhone back then, I'd have gone viral I bet. Also kind of ironic Jackie and Johnny both wore black on stage at their concerts. Maybe someday Jackie will sing 'Hurt" like Johnny did.
I was about to comment on Jackies strange looking clothes here. Then she not only reasonably explained it, but made a really funny joke about it, So now I'm dressed like a Mime, really funny. Then a fan says they came for her voice anyway, and she thanks them all for making her feel so loved, so charming, so classy, so poised. She really cares about her fans, and knows what they expect of her. And she gave exactly the brilliant performance I expected.
Just a note: Thank you to Avid iPhone Photographer for this exceptionally good recording. Most are tolerable at best. Hope you will have other opportunities, they will be much appreciated.
Jackie's recent video release of "Both Sides Now" from her new album, Carousel of Time, expected to be released "late summer": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hmbK_5coIIg.html
"This girl is a woman now" ~ and still possessing a voice that sounds better than most anything we could ever dream. May she never lose her love and passion for music.
One of the most beautiful voices in the world. Jackie is one of the few singers in the world, who feels every word when she sings. Jackie feels the words from her heart and from the depths of her soul. God Bless you, Jackie.
My two fav singers, Jackie and Angelina Jordan. Both are very amazing singers. Jackie is just amazing as a classical/operatic singer and Angelina is best jazz/r&b singer that can lend her rich full voice to any song. And both are amazing human beings off stage. I love Angelina’s back story. I love how her family has kept her childhood while letting her explore the fullness of her music. Much like Jackie. But what I love about Jackie is that she hasnt let the fame go to her head. She is down to earth and loves her family dearly. I also love the way she handled the criticism for singing the National Anthem at Trump’s swearing in. She said that she did it out of respect for the Office of President and the respect of the process of peaceful transition. She also had sung for former president Obama at a white house event as well. She could care less about politics or anyone else saying she should have used it to make a political statement against Trump. She should be respected for NOT doing that whether you like Trump or not because it shows a maturity to understand nuance and being rational.
Maybe I am the world's greatest wuss. Why can't I ever listen to Jackie sing without tears coming to my eyes? Why does the most beautiful voice in the world DO this to me???
Upon parking at work and finishing "Urge for leaving", I could only sit in stunned silence in my car for 5 minutes. I was overwhelmed, and BTW, I am a 66 year old engineer. Jackie's voice and presentation is consistently profound.
I share the sentiments expressed in the comments below. Also, Jackie's accompanists are excellent...music director Jorn Swart on piano, the violinist , cellist and percussionist really compliment Jackie well...fine musicians and a young seemingly happy stage family. Jackie has certainly come into her own as a vocalist and entertainer, charming as always, witty, personable and grateful to her audiences. Her vocal control, expression and delivery are ever more refined. And, she is in command on the stage and off.
Magnificent ,dresses do not make the entertainer, the entertainer makes the dress. Beautiful delivery by one of a kind Jackie! May she always be blessed with her wonderful voice!!
❤ I like that her singing in her own clothes made it feel so personalized, as if she were singing at a family gathering. Her head movements and expressive hand gestures are windows into the purity of her heart. Her beautiful face and voice reminds me of the maturity of a young woman who has endured, survived, and surpassed her fame as a girl that has evolved into a very good person. I truly love most everything about her and wish her all the best the world can bring.
I've been following Jackie's career since 2012, having purchased all her albums; but I just recently began commenting on RU-vid to support her. I had the good fortune to attend a Two Hearts concert last year, and what a memorable experience that was! I envy those in the east who have the opportunity to see her often, especially at venues such as the Cafe Carlyle, Feinstein's and Rockwood Music Hall. I've experienced every emotion you described and the pure joy of watching her grow from a charming little girl to the commanding young woman and extraordinarily versatile artist she has become. She is a unique and special entertainer.
what a great investment in an incredible memory for you and your daughter! She will forever remember the effort you took to spend quality time with her.
Her version of Safe and Sound from Hunger Games and her video was amazing. Better than the original. She really could do Disney musicals. She is also just as sweet and caring as you’d think she is. I wish that she would have kept vlogging during Quarantine they were awesome.
Many achieve celebrity and fame, but few are truly loved by their fans. Like a daughter we have watched from a distance, who has grown to be a poised and gracious young woman in spite of challenges encountered outside of life's normal seasons of age. Jackie, you are loved by so many of us, keep singing your heart and resist the packaging, because you have nothing to prove to anyone. Greatly looking forward to your next chapter.
Love it. I was always worried by your excellence at such a young age, that it would be hard to improve, but you have done it! Yea for you !!! Aloha from Hawaii
I watch RU-vid videos posted by other singers, which are the result of studio recording, mixing, editing. Anyone observing this performance should realize that she has the bare minimums, far from a full orchestra, not an auditorium designed for recording. If you had this same performance in a sound booth with enhancement, you might think it superior; however, this is raw, real, and lovely. I loved the a cappella portion of “our Prayer” solo. When she began the accompanied part, the voice was incredible. I still have goosebumps!
There are many facets to Jackie's artistry, largely innate or self-taught, that many don't fully comprehend intellectually. Her affect upon a listener can be profound, but it is generally indescribable, beyond her exquisitely beautiful tone that is. Of course, the critics try to convince you that she is less than what your emotions tell you, that you are being "fooled" by some kind of mechanism or fakery, or being mislead and lack the knowledge to recognize her inadequacies and technical flaws, etc., wanting you to doubt your own experience. But, your senses don't lie. When you find yourself breathless at times, or gaping in awe or tearful without understanding why, no explanation of her "shortcoming" will erase or nullify those sensations. When a comment is made that Jackie is "sensational", it is absolutely real to that person, because he or she has been touched deeply. When her performances are said to be "spectacular", it isn't as though there were fireworks, smoke and flashing lights. A remark that her concert was "phenomenal" doesn't mean there was some grand musical accompaniment designed to make it more appealing. It's because one has been inexplicably captivated by a humble and beautiful young lady who simply stands or strolls on stage, accompanied by a few excellent musician, singing to YOU and speaking to YOU with absolute sincerity, doing what she loves to make you feel something real and honest, to take you away from your concerns. She has in her inimitable way reached inside you and drawn you to her own experience, to her interpretation of a song which becomes yours as well. That is vocal artistry and entertainment in its most genuine form, in my opinion. And, she has had that magic since she first sang to us on RU-vid when she was eight years old. It cannot be rationalized away, denied or refuted to anyone who has felt privileged in some way to hear Jackie Evancho sing. Her a cappella rendition of "The Prayer", what little was captured, is a priceless example. 8:50
*Jordan Nash* 'C L' and 'Rehoboth' are one and the same person. He likes talking to himself. He also has other aliases 'David Klein' 'Claire Walker' and 'Robert Evers' are just a few of them.
Just as an experiment try substituting every reference in the above with the name "Justin Bieber" or it's equivalent. Are you really saying there is nothing more to music than the subjective experience the performer causes the audience to have? As long as the audience is impressed and considers the performer 'gifted' and a 'musical genius' then that alone makes it so? Seriously? If that's the case, then the reverse is also true. If everyone hates a performance or a piece of art, that makes it inherently bad. Almost no one liked Van Gogh during his lifetime. J.S. Bach was ignored as a composer. Subjective reaction is important; but it is hardly determinative of quality. In addition, you make the statement "your senses don't lie." Your senses tell you lies ALL THE TIME. Think about it.
@@ardalla535 Have you ever been moved to tears when listening to Jackie sing? If so, you know that no explanation from a critic that her technique was "bad" or that her voice lacks this or that, etc. can nullify your emotion( "sense" of being overwhelmed). It was real, an involuntary response, not a "lie" or a deception. I'm not saying there is "nothing more to music than subjective experience", but when an experience is shared by audiences in general it has become more than subjective, rather a common or universal experience..."The Jackie Effect". Critics apparently cannot relate to it, listening with an analytical ear for the flaws, the inadequacies, the limitations or whatever, they can't understand why people are captivated by what they consider "inferior quality". They miss the "magic". The "gift", "musical genius" attributed to Jackie lies in her innate, untrained ability to affect listeners in an inexplicably profound way, those who are sensitive to it anyway. "Quality" is a subjective term. An opera performance may be considered to be one of quality, but not necessarily an appealing one. I'm not trying to convince you that you should be moved to tears listening to Jackie sing. But, neither should you try to convince me and others that our experience is not genuine. If you're not impressed with Jackie, that's fine. Perhaps you'll discover an artist who actually "moves" you.
Look up 7-year-old opera child here on YT. It's the first time she sang from Phantom! I saw that long before AGT and remember posting early on, "This kid NEEDS to be on AGT!" Not that it was the reason that she finally went on there but even then she was extraordinary! Three yrs later, she appeared on AGT! There are lots of her performances in church or other talent shows on YT! It's amazing to watch her first operatic performances and see how she improved so rapidly from year to year!
Jackie continues to render each note with care and respect for the songs. Never a screech, a flat note, or an unnecessary ornamentation. Beautiful as always.
Emphatic yes. She has amazing control, a perfect sense of timing and pitch, and her complete mastery of phrasing in every song she sings shows that she feels and understands her material. So she has no need to resort to the vocal theatrics and irritatingly overdone vibrato that so many other singers annoyingly do. And no autotune either!
People comment on other singers how they Say they are better than Jackie. I have heard some of them although they sound good personality to me Jackie’s voice is superior to there’s. The reason for this is not just her beautiful Clear voice but what does to thousands of us how it reaches down to are heart and soul. No other singer can do what Jackie’s voice Does to me. I lost my wife 9 years ago and Was ready to end mine but Jackie’s voice keeps me going. Thank you Jackie.
