I would honestly say, her voice is so magic that like pure spring water it entirely penetrates your brains, making it feel a pleasant relaxation, great enjoyment, faith in beautiful life, a great desire to live, believe in positive ways, have a sense of virginity and innocence, absolutely forgetting about everything that challenge your dwelling in this fragile world.

+Ronald Diaz "The ego does not recognise the real source of "threat," and if you associate yourself with the ego, you do not understand the situation as it is. Only your allegiance to it gives the ego any power over you. I have spoken of the ego as if it were a separate thing, acting on it's own. This was necessary to persauade you that you cannot dismiss it lightly, and must realize how much of your thinking is ego directed. We cannot safely let it go at that, however, or you will regard yourself as necessarily conflicted as long as you are here, or as long as you believe that you are here. The ego is nothing more than a part of your belief about yourself. Your other life in Heaven has continued without interruption, ans has been and always will be totally unaffected by your attempts to dissociate it. In learning to escape from illusions, your debt to your brother is something you must never forget. It is the same debt that you owe to Me. Whenever you act egotistically towards another, you are throwing away the graciousness of your indebtedness and the Holly Perception it would produce. The term "Holy" can be used here because as you learn how much you are indebted to the whole sonship, which includes Me, you come as close to Knowledge as perception can. The gap is then so small that Knowledge can flow across it to obliterate it forever. You have very little trust in Me as yet, but it will increase as you turn more and more often to Me instead of the ego for guidance. The results will convince you increasingly that this choice is the only sane one you can make. No one who learns form experiance that one choice brings Peace and Joy while another brings chaos and disaster needs additional convincing. Learning through rewards is more effective than learning through pain, because pain is an ego illusion, and can never induce more than a tempoary effect. The rewards of God however are immediately recognised as Eternal. Since this recognition is made by you and not the ego, the recognition itself establishes that you and your ego cannot be identical, You may believe that you have already accepted the difference, but you are by no means convinced as yet. The fact that you believe you must escape from the ego shows this, but you cannot escape from the ego by hummbling it or controlling it or punishing it. The ego and the Spirit do not know each other. The separated mind cannot maintain the separation except by dissoctiating. Having does this, it denies all truly natural impulses, not because the ego is a separate thing, but because you want to believe that YOU are. The ego is a device for maintaining this belief, but it is still only your decision to use the device that enables it ot endure. How can you teach someone the value of something he has deliberately thrown away? He must have thrown it away because he did not value it. You can only show him how miserable he is without it, and slowly bring it nearer so he can learn how his misery lessens as he approaches it. This teaches heim to assocaite his misery with its absence, and the opposite of misery with its presence. It gradully becomes desirable as he changes his mind about its worth. I am teaching you to associate misery with the ego and Joy with the Spirit. You have tausght yourself the opposite. You are still free to choose, but can you really want the rewards of the ego in the presence of the rewards of God? My Trust in You is greater than yours in Me at the moment, but it will not always be that way. Your mission is simple. You are asked to live so as to demonstrate that you are not an ego, and I do not choose God's channels wrongly. The Holy One shares My Turst and accepts My Atonement decisions because My decisions are never out of accord with His. I have said before that I am in charge of the Atonement. This is only because I completed My part in it as a man, and now complete it through others. My chosen channels cannot fail, because I will lend them MY Strength as long as theirs is wanting. You are the light of the world, Who is the light of world except God's Son? This then is the merely a statement of the truth about yourself. It is the opposite of a statement of pride, arrogance, or self-deception. It does not describe the self-concept you have made. It does not refer to any of the characteristics with which you have endowed your idols. It refers to you as you were created by God. It simply states the Truth. To the ego this idea is the epitome of self-glorification. But the ego does not understand humility mistaking it for self-debasement. Humility consists of accepting your role in salvation and in taking no other. It is not humility to insist you cannot be the light of the world if that is the function God assigned to you. It is only arrogance that would assert this function cannot be for you, and arrogance is always of the ego. True humility requires that you accept this idea because it is God's Voice which tells you it is True. This is a beginning step in accepting your real function on earth, It is a giant stride toward taking your rightful place in salvation. It is a positive assertion of your right to be saved, and an acknowledgement of the power that is given you to save others. It is the prefect answer to illusions, and therefore to all temptation. It brings all the images you have made about yourself to the Truth, and helps you depart in Peace, unburdened and certain of your purpose. This idea goes far beyond the ego's petty views of what your are and what your purpose is, As the Bringer of salvation, this obviously necessary, You are the light of the world. God has built His plan for the salvation of His Son on you. Tell yourself this often I am the light of the world, That is my only function. That is why I am here." "ACIM""

+Ronald Diaz I am also a Catholic who have been going through very traumatic issues. I'd like to suggest, if you don't mind, two very beautiful resources: "Into your hands, Father" by Fr. Wilfrid Stinissen (available in print and ebook formats) and "Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence" by Fr Jean Baptiste Saint-Jure and St Claude de la Colombiere (www.olrl.org/snt_docs/trustful/). St John Paul II's encyclical "Salvifici Doloris" is also very beautiful, and this website (catholiceducation.org) has many wonderful resources. May the Lord bless you and comfort you, and may He reveal His love and presence in your sufferings and make them fruitful. Have courage and be strong in Him!

you've brought this upon yourself for serving a corrupt government that just uses puppet to achieve power and wealth. but I think there is hope for you, praying is not the answer, finding people or a person that care and loves you may be the answer, and their are doctors out there that can treat or ease the pain. some of these comments are religious, but they are right about one thing, you must let go of your ego, or you will hurt the people around you as you just hurt others from other nations. I'm not saying that isis is good, they are monsters and have a lust for blood. but aren't our soldiers any different. there are few soldiers that have integrity and honor in the American military, so back the matter. you are in pain, yes? Then find people that live and care about you and have your doctor's treat any of your physical suffering. Remember, physical pain is not so easily healed, but LOVE will always heal the heart and your emotional pain. it can be anyone.

Look I can't apologize for saying that the the U.S. Is evil (especially when there are people who are selfish in this nation). But I do apologize for my condescending additude towards you Rondald. There are alot of people that have integrity and love in their hearts, especially people who love and care about you. I have no empathy for soldiers from any nation; however, you are human and you're in pain. All I have to say is hang in there, stay strong find comfort in unconditional love from people around you. this is all I have to say.

My dad took us to Longwood Gardens for several years, and when he died of Covid-19 in 2021... I was not able to comfort him in his last days, but hope he heard her singing....Sorry for your loss as well.

My dad also took us to Longwood Gardens for several years, as he was the Director of Delaware State Parks...He also taught at the University of Delaware and Oglebay Park in Wheeling West Virginia...I ended up in the New Castle County Delaware Forestry Department, and we went to Longwood Gardens to see how they also took care of trees.

It is beyond a tragedy that someone of Jackie's talent now languishes in relative obscurity, performing at C-list venues with empty seats, when once she was America's darling and was woshipped by millions. Where are all those fans now? Her voice is different now, yes, but that innate something-else that she had as a child performer is still there, albeit changed, matured. I hope her career picks up again and she recovers from her health issues and finds happiness.

Jackie's new album, her ninth in 12 years, was released Sep. 9, 2022......"Carousel of Time" is a tribute to the legendary singer/songwriter, Jon Mitchell which hit the Amazon Folk Music chart at #1 and remains at #2 in New Releases. Jackie is presently on national tour with songs from the new album plus fan favorites from previous albums beginning with a series of concerts at City Winery venues in Nashville, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Chicago and Atlanta through Oct. "City Winery offers live music, comedy shows and more by top artists", the same type venue as the famous Cafe Carlyle and Feinstein's 54 Below in New York City where Jackie has returned for several command performances. Most recently, she gave a concert in Nashville with nearly full attendance. Among the audience was Chloe Agnew , main vocalist of Celtic Woman, who took several photos with Jackie. She said City Winery Nashville is one her favorite venues for entertainment. Jackie will be in Boston Oct. 16th. Furthermore, Christmas concerts are tentatively scheduled (venues unrevealed as yet). In 2020, she gave 8 outstanding performances as "Kitty" on The Masked Singer season 3 (a TV audience of 7M), followed immediately by 3 back-to-back concerts at the end of Feb. in Utah and Colorado to resume her national tour. Then Covid restrictions but a stop to concert touring in March, so she was out of work. In November, she suffered a serious relapse of anorexia and was hospitalized for inpatient care, now receiving professional treatment. Imho, Amira Willighagen's Ave Maria by W Gomez is other-worldly! And she has no huge orchestra just her brother on violin, mother on recorder (poorly) and her father on church pipe organ. Magnificent rendition of Ave Maria by Jackie, who was once referred to as "The Ave Maria girl" in her hometown because she sang it so often at local venues. This grabs you and holds you until the last note. After the last note, then you've gotta play it again.

A recent article from a reporter regarding Jackie Evancho's version of this song very accurately reflects the sentiments of all of her fans and admirers. To paraphrase part of what he wrote: "....Jackie Evancho has one of the most gorgeous voices in contemporary music, and her version of "Ave Maria" proves why." I have listened to this song countless times in my work vehicle and love it, but watching her perform it with such passion on stage opened the flood gates! It's so beautiful it's hard to watch with tears streaming out of your eyes! Speechless and running out of Kleenex! I am forever regretting I missed attending this concert!

I COMPLETELY understand what you're going through with listening & watching JEM sing. I just turned (a young) 61 on the 7th, and ever since JEM was on AGT, all I need to do is JUST THINK of her to get teary-eyed, It gets more when I listen, and even more when I watch her. At first, I thought I was the only one who had these symptoms, until I found many others like you who were struck with her in this way, and we still are. I have a theory on why this happens, but it's an otherworldly explanation. Another thing, Sir Ironman, and you are not so 'iron' are you as far as JEM is concerned?!!, I find it VERY SPECIAL to respond to JEM thusly, and I wonder why you, I, and thousands of others respond to her like this. Another thing, exactly last year at this time she hosted the MUZART function (but it wasn't one of her concerts) and I missed it, and also her concert at the Maverick Center, Salt Lake City, 3-31-12, and I missed that one too (lack of transport - I live about 50 south of the Maverick Center), So I can understand you missing your concert. I'll be safe to say that you WON'T MISS the airing of this LONGWOODS Concert in DEC will you? One question, I haven't seen when this event was filmed, I think early summer, but I've never seen an exact date...Can you, or anyone else give me the exact date of the filming of this event?

Royalchess1 Auguet 23rd, I had the option of going to one of three concerts scheduled in August, Chautauqua, NY on Aug 8th, Lancaster Aug 10 or Longwood Gardens Aug 23rd. I picked Lancaster due to the hot summer weather I was more comfortable indoors in air conditioning. Now, knowing what I missed, I would have braved the fires of hell to have seen this concert in person!

***** Again I assure you, dear friend, that although the mechanics of making such an elaborate PBS special are fascinating to observe, you are getting the fullest impact of Jackie's angelic singing and persona right here in high def and colorful close-ups, etc. While it's nice to have been present at so historic an event, I think the full complete PBS show, and hopefully a good DVD thereof, will impart to any Jackie FANatic the full and wonderful impact of her amazing artistry (still so angelic, yet growing richer),lovely looks (still more like a mid- to late- teen), and neat personality (modest and thoughtful, exuberantly 14-year-old, caring, devout, and often wise beyond her years). Each song from her new AWAKENING album grows more on me each time I hear it :) Am breathlessly awaiting December; must find out when local PBS station(s) will present this, her THIRD (!!! :) :) :)) GREAT PERFORMANCES special :)

I discovered Jackie Evancho by accident in 2011 and since then I have enjoyed her music and her incredible journey. At the beginning, I investigated until I was convinced that she was doing what she really wanted, that she was loved and protected by her family without serving the interests of others, without mistreated her childhood. Then I began to buy her music to support her, delighted by her singing and inspired by her example. I never had an interest in child artists or prodigies and this time it was not different. What interested me was her singing, the beauty, the expressiveness, the naturalness, the magnificence, the depth and the dignity in the emotion that she manages to transmit. In all these years, I have read all kinds of comments and sometimes I have write a few ones. I have never commented outside the theme of music, but this time I will make an exception and I will be way off topic. I warn the reader to go ahead at their own discretion and I apologize for how extensive it will be (and for my english). In my own personal vision, JE has always been true to her path, the crossover. In music, crossover refers to crossing the boundaries that separate genres, mixing elements of both to unite and integrate them in harmony and beauty. Crossover comes from crossing over, which means to cross a limit that separates or divides two different contexts. From the first moment, JE has done a crossover that goes far beyond the musical genres. She did a crossover in age when she began to interpret extremely adult themes. This allowed her to do a crossover of generations, reaching the hearts of people much older than her. She did a crossover of cultures, singing in languages that were unknown to her. But as it grows, emerge borders more complex and more difficult to overcome. In spite of that, she faced them with an extraordinary courage and heart. She did a social crossover when passed over the line that was trying to divide the heart of her own family. Without taking into account the consequences, she expressed her love, understanding and support for her sister. In time, the musical genre that had allowed her to reach so many was separating her from her youth and from her own generation. So she started a crossover towards pop music. And when a much more complex line divided the heart of her country, she did a crossover in politics showing respect for her homeland’s traditions. JE’s journey is a reflection of her intention not to put herself above others, to connect with people, to promote union and harmony, to show respect and compassion for all. But this road is not easy nor safe, because in each border that someone crosses there are always some people who feel offended. Some got upset because she sang adult songs without being old enough or because she wanted to sing classical music without submitting to classical technique. Others were upset because she crossed generations and their audiences were elder or simply because she included pop in her repertoire. Of course, many more were upset when she crossed social and political lines. It is curious that people who defend these borders react in a similar way when they see someone crossing them, they get angry, offend, threaten and announce apocalyptic calamities: "She will lose her voice", "in five years nobody will remember her", "she will fall in vices and drugs”, "her fans will abandon her", "God is no longer with her" and things like that. None of these prophecies has been fulfilled, but that does not mean that her challenges are less difficult. In the same way, if she cannot reach mainstream stardom, her achievements will not be less extraordinary. The path that JE has chosen is much more important than if she manages to be more or less popular. It is the path of integrity and self-respect above fame and popularity. The longest and most difficult road, but where every step is worthwhile. It has been almost 10 years since she went to see that movie that defined her life and impacted for the good to so many people who have found in her singing a source of rejoicing and inspiration. Since she began to share those videos singing in her room until today, the spiral of life has taken a big turn. She went through the most complex moments, managed to preserve her identity, her freedom and her integrity. Without sacrificing her childhood, without renouncing to her principles, she is on the verge of a new era that she will face armed with talent, resources and experience. A monumental achievement under any measure. An achievement that began with her first crossover and continues until today. But her first crossover was none of the ones I mentioned. Respecting the beliefs of each one, for me her first crossover is repeated every time the music begins and in a purely intuitive way, she crosses the border that separates her from her own soul. In doing so, she becomes a ageless being, because through intuition flows the knowledge and understanding achieved through the experiences of countless previous lives, a knowledge that we all of us carry within and that we can reach just like her. JE perfectly describes the contact with her own soul when she tells David Foster in "Dream with Me in Concert": "when I sing, something overpowers me and makes me feel very comfortable and very happy". Through this intuitive connection, JE not only manages to express emotions that are far beyond her years, but also, without knowing or pretending it, provides her singing with a quality that helps the listener to do the same, to establish a connection with his own soul. The emotion, peace and love that flood those who manage to establish this deep connection with their own being, is what causes many people to describe similar experiences. They feel moved to tears, they can spend hours or days listening to her sing. They are overwhelmed by peace, understanding, a sense of purpose, they recover their ingenuity and hope, they feel young again, they are filled with energy and they experience a healing that relieves their sorrows. This is not something for idolize Jackie, nor to treasure her or try to control her destiny. It is something very simple, something that is learned and deserved, something that each person could achieve through meditation or a serious search for the part of God that lives in each one. This quality of JE's singing is not a gift from God, nor is she an angel with wings or without them. Pretending that, serves only to separate and isolate her. It is going against what JE has tried to do all these years, connect with people through her singing. Jackie Evancho is a human being like all of us, but one that has learned and deserved the intuitive knowledge we call talent. She is using this impressive knowledge in her singing and her journey giving to us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy music and discover what we can achieve if we begin to cross those artificial boundaries that separate us from others and from our true self.

+Stephanie Cheng No hate here! You're entitled to your opinion, of course. My disagreement is with your characterization of Jackie as average! THAT is my criticism; Jackie is the antithesis of "average". She has an extraordinary voice by any measure. She has great technique, perfect intonation and an "old soul" in a 15 year-old body! You don't have to like her voice, but you raised the ire of most of us by disparaging her vocal proficiency and musicianship! At least my judgment comes from decades of musicianship--both in composition and performance, and there is general consensus that Jackie is extraordinary!

We watched Jackie grow from a miniature superstar to now a beautiful young woman with the voice of an angel . She had us in almost tears and shouts of joy as she won the talent show.
