Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, an iconic figure in US cultural and political history, was more than just her style and marriages. She was a great American first lady who carefully managed her public image. Jackie's success as the first lady made her a global celebrity, appearing on magazine covers and sought after for her images. Despite her public success, Jackie also faced personal suffering, particularly after the assassinations of her husband, President John F. Kennedy, and her brother-in-law, Bobby Kennedy.
Jackie's younger sister, Lee Radziwill, played a supportive role in her life, especially during her time as the first lady. The relationship between the sisters was complicated, with fierce competition and Lee often feeling overshadowed by Jackie's accomplishments. "

I am grateful to be able to write that around 1980 when I was assistant banquet manager in a famous restaurant in the theater I got to ask Jackie Kennedy if I could pour her some wine. I had heard that she wouldn't speak to people who didn't have the right to speak to her as she wanted to live her life in Manhattan as a private individual. But I was staff so I knew I could approach her. She was beyond beautiful; there was something about her that was ethereal, regal and almost other worldly -- I was happy for all her happinesses and sad for all her sadness -- such an incredible woman!

Jackie was a jewel whose background was perfect for being First Lady. I was a child of 9 when the tragic events of Dallas occurred and I'll never forget the graceful and dignified way she acted during the whole funeral. She literally led us in our grief and was only 33 when it occurred. It was a deep wound that took a long time to heal. I followed her over the years and was truly sad at her early and untimely death. She had every right to be buried next to John at Arlington and indeed belonged there. She was a great figure in American history besides her husband Jack. May they both RIP.

It is a crying shame that the kids nowadays do not have good role models from which to learn. Thank goodness Lee was such a good sister, especially during the trying times. Jackie a "good role model"- what a joke! Can you point to one contribution she made to make your life better?! You're certainly welcomed to recommend Michelle Obama/Hillary/Katie as additional phoney role models for future inane leftists who seriously believe that the higher up a person's social status is, the more admirable he/she is... I bet you trust those characters more than you trust your own neighbors for the simple reason that you know nothing about them! Here is a clue for you to use on your possible, but not probable growing up journey: those "Paparazzi" that you find so objectionable, are actually the ones who feed you the fairy tales you subscribe to regarding your "role model" celebrities (really moronic/socially ambitious materialists in the best case scenario, or degenerate/criminal in the worst), whose pictures accompany some made up story by the bribed lying media you consume mindlessly.... Happy grazing & of course boostering, courtesy of those who lose sleep over your wellbeing....hahaha!

Even on Wikipedia which too many people depend on as reality, there is no mention of the FACT that Anthony Stanislaw Albert Radziwill worked in Chase bank's executive offices in Manhattan around 1980. I know he did! My friend's wife trained him! I don't have the exact year but once his training was done and his identity was revealed to a Victoria Wroblewski at that time, I've never read anything about Anthony and Chase bank. I knew Victoria very well. I still have conversations with her husband quite often. Victoria or "Vickie" as her friends call her is married and she no longer carries the name of "Wroblewski". There are so many important omissions about people that are significant. The most important thing for me is Vickie's descriptions of him at the time that he was a nice, very stylishly dressed gentlemen and well liked.

But you see, it had nothing to do with looks, jack married Jackie because his father told him to. Jackie spoke several languages, graduated from Radcliffe and had a job before the Kennedys. Her father Black Jack Bouvier told her how important it is to be independent.

I have always thought of Martha Washington and Dolley Madison as the favorite first ladies. and Abigail Adams! so, I would probably place Jackie in the top 15 because of what she did for the White House - and her personal style - but not the favorite.

If you want to know, the real Jackie read the book by J. Randy Taraborrelli just out. Quotes from many people who knew her. She was no angel and could be very mean to people including her sister. Her mother was the same. Her motto marry for money.

She knew it had everything to do with the losers who were projecting it onto her and nothing to do with the real her. A friend found her once in a general store in Virginia in hunt country, sitting on the floor reading every tabloid about herself. She laughed and said it all had absolutely nothing to do with her. She was right.

Eleanor Roosevelt did much, much more for this country than Jackie ever dreamed of attempting. She is not our favorite First Lady. Eleanor was First Lady from 1933-1945, 12 years championing women’s rights and the war effort. Jackie for 2 years, 10 months. Great at redecorating.
