She definitely loved Jack Even when she remarried , she kept the Kennedy name , and she never took off his wedding ring , and Mr. Onassis understood and accepted that . I think she was buried wearing her wedding ring from JFK .
I don't know mwny details about the life of her and JFK... but I do recall reading much about JFK continuously cheating on her with several different women, even sleeping with his mistress a few days prior to his death. Are these words false oe is it the sad truth?
I don't know how Caroline Kennedy has made it through the loss of her dad, uncle Bobby, mum, and her brother, John-John. I would've become insane if this happened to me. She jus a brave lady. I hope she is reunited with them all in heaven one day. She especially missed her daddy.
I read that Jackie took Caroline and John-John to the New York World’s Fair in 1964. They went on It’s a Small World, where there were some animatronic frogs in this one scene. Caroline loved those frogs and wanted one. She (apparently) got one of the It’s a Small World frogs. Does anyone know if Ambassador Kennedy still has that frog?
She loved him. She was enamored by him. He was 13 years older. Her father went to bed with many women and she was raised with that mindset with no conviction. So she was happy to have him. No one knows the human heart, not even ourselves. Only God does. It is so complex. She did her best to support him. She even said " a woman always adapts." That was a common mindset of the 50's and 60's . She speaks in this interview of Forgiveness. Infidelity was something she was able to look past. A woman's heart holds a lot of complexities. The men does too, but they somehow can just screw over and over without thinking about how it hurts the wedded wife. I believe she was inherently good but because of Catholic influence had no real conviction and it was easy for her to have an affair outside of marriage out of fear, out of need, out of whatever. People never seem to recognize that there are real Spirits from the Underworld / the Devil that influence every human no matter how strong a Christian they are. I believe she did the best she could. He had spirits of adultery and possibly brought them into the marriage and that's why Jacqueline had affairs.
@@jillydips9226 , Please do not state things about Jackies’s “extra marital affairs” that you do not have real knowledge of and have no proof. My father in law was related to JFK. He was not a particularly close relation, but close enough to be invited to the weddings of the Kennedy brothers and sisters, JFK’s inauguration, JFK’s funeral, Bobby Kennedy’s funeral, etc. It is well known in the family that Jackie did NOT have any adulterous affairs during her marriage to JFK. Jackie loved JFK very much. She knew about his “other women” - but she was also very confident in her role as JFK’s wife, and (in her own words) “I always knew that he loved me so much more than any of that”.
@@Kayte-tv2cw No problem. Sorry if I offended you/the family. There is so much out there about her having affairs that I assumed she had at least one. I mean, there are notable people on utube channels attesting to it, etc. If it is true what you say, then I rejoice in that. It makes her even more admirable and respectable and intriguing to me!
Unless you were alive and almost grown at the time of the Kennedy Assassination, or have lost your husband or suffered a hideous violent trauma, you have no idea what was in her head....nor when she may have cried. Still in shock, days after the murder, her ability to walk down the street in front of the world, and for her children foremost.....gave her the strength she needed to survive after the horror. If you notice in the Zapruder tape, she tries to retrieve her husband]s brains-beyond tears
@@dmartinezguitarartI don’t usually speak/type this way because I feel like it’s disrespectful but….her husbands head was blown off right in front of her!! Inches from her!! She was covered in his blood, brain matter and skull! He died right there in her arms/lap!! So not one of us know what she did or how she grieved his death because she did it behind closed doors. But for her to refuse to get cleaned up and change her clothes before standing with former VP Johnson and his wife as he was sworn in as President by telling her Secret Service Agent “no, let them see what they have done.” And then at his funeral she insisted on walking behind his casket down the street even after both Johnson and her SS Agents pleaded with her not to do it for safety reasons. Her husband had just been assassinated so they didn’t know what would happen and if her or their children were in danger. Jackie Kennedy has been through an incredible amount of trauma, much more than most people, and for her to keep going and have her children be her strength is amazing!! I know I wouldn’t be able to hold it together if I was her after watching my husband murdered, not even a month after their son died 48 hours after his birth! So judging her and what she may or may not have done after her husband was killed is incredibly disrespectful!
@@mollee4950 -Baloney! You've bought the narrative hook, line and sinker! I won't bother telling you the truth, you would never believe it anyway. But you as many will never see that they have been conditioned to believe things that are simply not true. All you have to do is open your eyes to see that she is lying to you. Don't get me wrong, Jack was surrounded by snakes and vipers on that day and there was no way he was getting out of Dallas alive.
I have more respect for Jackie because of these tapes. It reflects a different era, a beautiful lady who devoted herself to family, calling John the love of her life. And yes, she does mention his assassination, and the Cuban missile crisis of 1962.
I love Jackie. She got a lot over criticism when these tapes were released because she insulted people and had old fashioned ideas. The ideas were what she was raised to believe. Even Caroline said she was shocked at some of the things her mom said because they didn't match up at all to Jackie's beliefs later in life and some of the people she seemed to have a distaste for became role models and friends later on. People should remember that the opinions she is stating are from just one scene in her short life. A scene that occurred nine moths after her son died and four months after her husband was assasinated in front of the world. Because of this I can't imagine that she is particularly overjoyed at this point in her life. She may have has a negative view of things. But she carried on and got older and actually was a role model for independent women by the time Onassis died.
yea and he cheated on her, she was always there for him and he took advantage of her. had millions of women behind her back.thats what happened when you live for him and not for yourself. she was very vulnerable and submissive for him.

@@ronniebishop2496 No, here is private, too. Maybe it was more emphasized in public, though, as it was with Monroe. It is a sad commentary on the public's view of women back then, that a good looking woman had to "dumb it down" to not appear threatening to me.
liselle sloan Well my generation we’re raised by women and we don’t feel that way. However women do not think like men and that’s just a fact right or wrong, just listen to what little girls talk about and little boys and then listen to big girls and big boys and you’ll see the difference. Men are extremely aggressive and most women just aren’t every day.
Omg Aunty Suzanne But I’ve seen Grey Gardens and I didn’t remember Jackie being in that. Plus s very high up aide said she didn’t normally talk that way, right after she gave that tour of the White House after she had it remodeled on the inside or redecorated.
1:17 there is something timeless ab out JFK's personal style. He doesn't look like the 50s in the 50s. His young self could be walking down the street today and fit right in. Actually he would stand out for looking so much better/healthier/more normal.

Shannon Traynor no she was not even pretty. She was very stylish, she had good body. Look at her eyes on the sides of her head , look at her nose , her profile .
You must be joking right? She wasn't beautiful at all. Lego hair and eyes so wide apart that made her look like an alien. She was tall and slender OK, but no curves at all and nothing special about her face really. Strangely shaped lips and weird smile, awkward head shape too. Dunno why people believe what the media feed them. That was not a beautiful woman, not even by a far stretch.
Jack and Jackie loved each other so very much and it is so beautiful and inspiring to see. The way they looked at each other so lovingly and deeply. Jack and Jackie were made for each other. Indeed, they were soulmates. The fact that they both had similar nicknames, Jack and Jackie, was so remarkable, endearing to each other and us, and more proof that they were made for each other. They are the only couple I've ever seen to have and demonstrated their love and devotion to and for each other and their children, Caroline and John, Jnr., who are the most stable people as a result of their upbringing.
@@b.m.t.h.3961 First of all, Jackie never had a single affair. Second, every president (and damn near every world leader) until Bill Clinton had affairs. MLK had affairs. Gandhi had affairs. The Beatles had affairs. Babe Ruth had affairs. Michael Jordan had affairs. When FDR fell over and died, he was with his mistress. Third, though JFK messed around, he always came back to Jackie. Fourth, after the death of their son Patrick, they were closer than ever and JFK had actually given up his philandering ways in the months leading up to his assassination.
After receiving and listening to these tapes, I have to say there is a new persepective on who they were and their struggles during that time. I also know that America had one of its best leaders in JFK. He is very much missed.
She wasn't a Stepford Wife. She was pretty independent -- and definitely had a busy life with her children, reading, art, travel, and horses. Back in those days before the women's movement, women readily said that they wanted to take care of their husbands. Also, when she was saying that her husband's opinion would be the best - she meant political views. She voiced her opinions to her husband about other matters -- and some times even political.
Really wish I was here back in the 50's and 60's, would have been a great time to have been alive!!! Enjoy watching this old footage of the President and the First Lady, what a wonderful by-gone era!
i feel cringe saying this but. yea . sometimes I wish I was a Kennedy literally, I find them fascinating I also kinda wish i was JFK, imagine being him ,a president, damn
Yes, he did! Was just voracious sexually. Jackie knew this coming into her marriage. Her father was like that, and her mother drilled into her that all men were like that, alas.
@@lisellesloan3191 some say that many women marry their father [subconsciously]. that was probably part of her attraction to Jack, in addition to his good looks, personality, money, intelligence, humor...........quite a package.
@@lisellesloan3191 , I have also read that one or more of JFK’s medications (for his numerous health conditions) could have caused his hyper sexual behavior. My cousin is on some of the same medications as JFK was, and she has developed what she calls “an abnormal sexual appetite”. I certainly agree with you that JFK loved Jackie very much. Carly Simon was a good friend of Jackie’s in her later years. In Carly Simon’s autobiography, she touches on the subject of Jackie talking about JFK and his “other women”. I don’t have the book in front of me right now, but Jackie told Carly something to the effect that JFK always showed her how much he loved her. Jackie went on to say that she had known about the “other women”, but she also knew that JFK loved her so much more than that.
You are correct. I cannot think of one woman alive today who has class, dignity, intellect, style, etc., I have probably missed quite a few. Today's young girls love to show off what they are not wearing. As you said exploiting themselves with nudity, drugs, alcohol. Very few are alive from Jackie's era. God Love Her.
We have to become the women that the young ladies around us can look up to. I had my mother and aunts and in my day we had TV moms-Claire Huxtable, Elise Keaton (is that how you spell her first name?) and other actresses but, as you stated, there are not many visible women like that anymore.
That is what I think too when I think about how a current generation conducts themselves. Every one is like "omg these age bracket have no morals... and I agree wholeheartedly. I feel though that age bracket has a older generation (aka between Caroline and her kids' age) that don't believe it is worth it to be honorable and respectable as they will get more attention from being dishonorable. I couldn't imagine JBKO being that undignified but could you imagine the media giving her that much attention for being undignified. Now a days' generation (30 somethings) give young generation (aka JFK's grandkids age bracket) no motivation to act more mature on camera and then we are shocked to see them act so unbecoming. FYI if that middle age bracket would avoid getting media attention for doing dumb stuff maybe Jack and Rose (JFK grand-kids) generation would take note.
I see all these comments saying how we need a role model like her and I agree. But people who say that women today are just trash or pop stars are just exploiting themselves, I wanna tell you that they might not be worthy of being role models but women today know their worth and value. With all respect to Jackie, she clearly didn't have a mind of her own. I do understand the time she lived in and everything else in her is GREAT EXCEPT the lack of self worth that she had.
What's so strange is that many Caucasian men are turning to 'Asian' women looking for that feminine quality.( Or so they have told me) I don't know if it's the need to dominate or just the desire for the softness... Interesting point you make. ( I know you made it four months ago, but I am doing research so I just came upon your comment)
Her views in 1964 are misinterpreted. He appreciated her strengths and leaned on her in tough times. She wasn’t subservient. Women and men have certain roles. Not better or worse. Women go through so much just having a baby and raising a baby. You have to have your Momma. It’s not an insult. I lost my Mom a few years ago. At 50 I still haven’t gotten over it. Not sure I will. She was amazing. And never inferior.
It's a desirable quality from a woman. As much as a protective and provider quality is from a man. You may feel differently, and that's ok. but for those like myself, a soft woman and a strong man really compliment each other.
You can definitely tell the Era and generation here. She was trying hard to be submissive and think solely of him. Denying her own thoughts and opinions to please him
She was a elegant and graciously gifted lady, She shall be remembered for her charismatic style, which was very advanced for the average life style image,of the average people,
This particular presentation was part of a two-hour television special in September of 2011. You can get an instant video through Amazon of the entire special which is entitled: "Jacqueline Kennedy: In Her Own Words. " If you want the book and the full 8 hours worth of interview, it is still available through book stores, etc. and are entitled "Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on life with John F. Kennedy." Those interviews are on C.D. and do not include any commentary or music as the TV special did.
just let her speak! she dressed well and presented herself well but that whole thing about her being attractive is laughable, seems a bit overrated to me, like audrey hepburn's image, funny how she and monroe have that same way of speeking when the mic's on
because she was very European in her outlook, her mannerisms, some (many) folks felt she was a snob--translating that to political life was difficult, I'd imagine. I find her to be one of the 20th century's most amazing figures, in some ways, far more important than her husband (who was inspirational in many ways despite being assassinated).
I know it would’ve been extremely difficult, but I really wish she would’ve spoke publicly about Dallas. Just what she saw and what she was told. It’s just so obvious there was some sort of government coverup happening and she was damn near in the center of it all
God bless John and Jacqueline! Both so special. They had light. She had quiet glamour. So chic! Never a couple like that again in the White House. Camelot: "For one brief shining moment"! I was a little child when he was killed. The world stopped .That's what it felt like. That's what I remember. And people crying....
JFK had an an amazing smile which could light up any room like a ray of sunshine and he was so handsome. Despite his extra marital affairs, Jackie always held all the cards with John because she was intelligent, charming and witty so his affairs were always going to be meaningless pastimes.
Jackie told her good friend, Carly Simon, that she knew about JFK’s “other women”. Jackie also said that she felt very confident as JFK’s wife, and knew (in her own words) “that he loved me so much more than any of that”. This is in Carly Simon’s autobiography.
And how many accounts have you read of her actions during that time in Dallas -- that you would come up with such a conclusion? I wouldn't say that at all. As I recall regarding one instance, she felt she had to stay strong or else the doctors wouldn't let her into the emergency room to be close to her husband.
That is one hell of a book I want to read. Rest on PeaceJack and JFK plus KFK jr. Jackie was so elegant and softly spoken. All we have is memories. You all went away too young. Lord have mercy.
Lucky for her that she had a father that cheated and that made it easier for her to accept the cheating of her own husband. She was smart enough to realize her husband loved her
Part of what attracted her is likely bc he was such a charismatic, womanizer and reminded her of her own father. Probably forgot why her mother left the guy.
Very good for the presenter journalist she is a cute and speack serius and safe form also you image is a free and pretty.Congratulations and Happy new year...Please continue in doing notices interesting, i am a Colombian men.
In this particular recording, she was on heavy sedatives. But in general, that was the personal she gave to the media/world--she was taught that women should play sorta dumb. But she was extremely smart and sharp as a tack. She actually didn't talk like that around her family and friends, I have read in several books.
The lady was frm NY state, East Hampton/Long Island to be correct. If you want to get the dialect from that area watch Grey Gardens, the documentary. Her cousin (Edie Bouvier Beale) sounds exactly the same.
She loved him and jfk loved her,the problem with jfk is that he himself just wanted to get laid and go out with other women then dump them but the only women he wouldn’t let go is jackie no matter what he knew well that that’s his wife forever but he did for sure love her even tho he was with other women.
Jacqueline Kennedy the woman that left her aunt and her cousin live in squalor until her image was jeopardize by the press telling the story to the world! She is the type of wealthy people society detests because she was selfish! I care less if she dressed formal or descent like all first ladies do, I care about the quality of humans that people are and you should care too! We should be careful what we admire and who we admire and why. If we want a better world we need to stop thinking that a person is good because she wears ugly hats that are expensive!
I think you all live in a dream world. A REAL man would recognize his wife's strengths and not take her for granted. Its about a mutual respect. If women feel like their husband isn't making a good choice why shouldn't she speak up. I as a daughter would talk to my father about politics. It was the only thing he would talk about.
