If you're a long time fan of Harlow like myself, you can agree that this project truly spoke to his skill and what got him here.. it has a Gazebo feeling. He pays homage to his past, to his present and it's another example of why he's here to stay... the vulnerability and the honesty on this record truly moved me off first listen. And ill be the first to say that his last project was too polished and lack-luster but i'm honestly just happy he's sounding more like himself. Kid's Golden
Yessir . The only word I can use to describe my emotions on the first play through is “PROUD”. So happy to hear him get back to the roots and truly SOUND hungry , not just claim he’s hungry . Happy as hell people are receiving it well too
Storytelling on this album was 🔥 if Kendrick or J Cole made this album people would be worshipping it. I’m excited to see what Jacks next project will be like. Love the content man 🙏🏼
The three verses from Blame On Me are from different perspectives in his family. The first being his brother, the second himself, and the third his father. Deep song. One of my favorites for sure
I don’t know of anyone who has ever done this! The creativity, the content, and his ability to be transparent and vulnerable is admirable! The album in my opinion is him reflecting on his life.
@@Martig35same with me. It put my relationship with my little brother into a perspective I couldn’t really voice out, listening to it hit me hard. Even the third verse with the dad resonates a little with how I’d view what my dad sees too
@@Poeticalt911Kendrick, Big Sean, J Cole, Nipsey Hussle, Eminem have all made conceptual songs like this… dope for Jack to tap into the storytelling roots of hip hop as one of the new rappers out
“Gang gang gang, the title scare me you might lose us here Jack” I thought the same thing, then I was all in tears listening to the third verse… round of applause for Jack, beautiful album
This album…Jack is reflecting on his life, his standing in the hip-hop community, his acknowledgement of his privilege, his childhood/teenage years, and his relationships…this is a quality project! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
First time I’m ever excited for a Jack Harlow realese let’s go!! Dope ass reaction. Love your feedback for the album my man. Keep it up! THE TAKEOVER WILL HAPPEN.
100% agree with everything you said with this album. Jack Harlow definitely had something to prove with his album and he came through and gave more than what people were asking for. I highly agree that this might be the best rap album or one of the best rap albums this year.
Easily his best album, imo. 0 skips for me. Blame On Me really resonated with me and made me think about my relationship with my younger brother growing up. Good reaction bro👍🏼
Gotta salute you for keeping it real. So many hiphop RU-vidrs and Twitter accounts are still fronting on this album just bc it’s popular to trash Jack. “It’s decent” “The bar was so low after last album anything would’ve been good” nah bro it’s legitimately a great project. Ppl need to start thinking for themselves.
14:40 I wasn't prepared for that song (and Blame on Me). He is truly speaking from the heart on this project, just put a beat to ti...kinda reminds me of how rappers like Nas use storytelling in their rhymes
Sound. Your perspective is a great one that I actually agree with, even from the track “gang gang gang”. After you told me this was really good, I had to check it out after I peeped a few tracks. Jacks talented without a doubt. I enjoyed this. Authentic🔥🔥
Tbh I wasn’t a fan of this album at first but I listened to it again and the production is really good. I like how Jack gets personal on this album definitely think it’s a 7.5/10
Solid review for an excellent album. The only thing i have to add is "blame on me" the first verse is from his younger brothers perspective, second is from his and the last is his dad's. As someone with a younger brother who went through a similar dynamic that shit cut deep... honestly that songs made me want to have that conversation with him and hash that out. Jack said some things that needed to be said and he absolutely did his thing! People will hate just because it's jack but it's a good ass album
Blame on her is talking about the relationships with his young brother but from the young brother's perspective, from the big brother's perspective him, and the father's perspective i Believe
Harlow always been fire. All his projects from back in the day have always delivered. Come Home wasn’t a bad album at all, just could’ve been better. But this album is MAD🔥 Would be nice to get a tape like Sweet Action again but this album is great, production and lyrically he came different 👏🏻
Jack is from a good situation. He grew up in an urban suburb with more White than Black people. His parents own a business. He’s not from the hood at all.
Ambitious reminds me of a drake style flow and the beat. I fuck with it. Don’t like how you brought login in the intro lol. Logic has done more and Brought suicidal prevention to the world while half the rappers don’t. Unless you were joking logic is one of the greatest
I just don't think hes anything too crazy. Like its cool for a 1 time listen but i don't think theres alot of replay value. Jacks an interesting case. He has that crazy flow but i dont think his lyrics hit like that. The beats are kind of whatever too
Kendrick's album grew on me more, first reactions are first reactions feel me, I had higher expectations when Kendrick dropped that verse Keem talking about smoking on Top 5s
@@ClubAmbition he has an old song when he was like in middle/highschool I think called middle class? Lol he’s just talking about how he’s not from the hood. The picture in his album is Louisville and that’s just how the city looks in a lot of places. A lot of young people from there live in homes more than apartments bc it’s old city. So it just kinda looks a little rough :)
