yea but a lot of these sales man are not that good but they using thousands of £s of sound hardwear too deliver the sound at its best so it sounds better then any one will on a 600£ too spend
Yeah but playing on a nice guitar is so much more fun and smooth than playing a shit guitar. That's why I'm getting annoyed as hell with this quote. I wonder why guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai only play custom built guitars?? Hmm...
I'm gonna tell you guys this right now. The JS32 is one of the best guitars out there regardless of price. The pickups sound amazing clean or with distortion and the necks on these are really comfortable and easy to play. Mahogany body is very light which adds to the comfort of this little beast. You will need the help of a video to set it up properly if not familiar with a floyd rose.
I was suprised how light it was. And yes it plays great. Looks awesome. The only thing I would have liked is if they had a string tensioner tree at the headstock because the strings change pitch at that angle, when you clamp the nut bolts down. I had to restring mine to get the low E to sit more in-line as it left the coil
@@dylanmartin9190 I always just tune the e and a strings a little low so when you tighten the nut up it, the extra tension should put it in tune. I don't really have that problem on the other strings. I have an esp mh1000 which has a tension tee and I still get the same issue with it
Yes its a fantastic guitar for the cost. But to say that it's one of the best guitars out there in a world of high end rigs is insanity. Any jackson dinky arch top with a floyd rose 1000, is going to be "better" than a jackson with a licensed floyd rose trem or better quality tuners etc.
@@MrBikboi "Better" is subjective but my JS32 has dead level frets and I can put the action wherever I like with no buzz and it stays in tune. I have a Charvel Pro Mod DK24 and the Jackson plays way better so I'll say the Jackson is better in this case as I had to do a fret level with the Charvel and it was $800 more. Now my PRS S2 you see a definite step up in quality however the Jackson has been able to Rival any guitar I have regarding playability regardless of cost and i just wanted to recommend a very good FR style guitar to anyone who wanted something solid and stable that didn't cost a fortune. Eart guitars is another I recommend because no company gives you what they do for the price all with SS frets.
Thank you for addressing the fret quality. This is THE key reason I’ve been shopping for a new beginner/intermediate guitar. Your video helped me nail my purchase decision. Great job! I’m now a subscriber.
Scottish Trendkill I'm going to put a tremel-no in my js32 king v. I know the bridge stays in tune but I change tunings alot and I can just making it a fixed bridge without having to deal with that awkward string through bridge. If I want to use the bridge for some dives, I can just turn two knobs in the cavity. Alot better than a block of wood in my opinion.
@@metalblast1 I think they've changed it and I was unaware, they genuinely were Floyd Rose Specials at one point, I have no idea why they'd switch to licenced Floyds all of a sudden, in my experience they don't work as well as the Specials
Scottish Trendkill . A special is about 1/3 of the cost of the guitar so reduces profit margin on lower cost models. A licensed costs probably 1/3 of the special or less
iv'e had, no problems, with the floyd, on the dinky !, intonation , tuning, all good! i leave the cover, off the back, of the guitar, changing strings,, i just tweak, the phillips claw screws, until the strings break in.
@@nickrkr Depends on what you're aming at. The set I gave is good for Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Def Leppard and other 70's - 80's stuff. SDs were used for example on Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction.
@@hadeseye2297 i have this guitar and i dont understand if they actually have a fucking volume knob.the volume doesnt even go fucking down.the volume knob rather acts as a knob to lower the mid.
@@cracker182 Is your JS32 this size? 12.99 x 2.40 x 39.29 inches. Scale: the scale is 25.5" (648mm). 24 Jumbo frets. Compared to my ESP, Scale Length is same 25.5 Inches not much difference.
Yup, I wish they would make some pro models that looked half as good. I don't get why it is so hard to find full shark fin inlays on the pro series (most are off set dot or piranha) and maple boards
Splitty agree 100%, I would order the purple Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas, but it has the cheesey Fender shaped headstock & dot inlays...it would look SO good with sharkfins and the Jackson/old Charvel headstock shape.
@@sploit777 I agree. I'm eyeing this beautiful red soloist with Maple neck and white SD pickups but the sharkfins are small. I don't mind them white, but they're small! I love the sharkfins.
I bought the natural js32 and modded the shit out of it for under $200. It'll go up against most super strats or at least give them a damn good run for their money. Absolutely great guitar
@@niyok671 added an SD distortion at the bridge, SD full shred in the neck, threw in a Floyd Rose Special trem that I got on sale, cts pots, orange caps. No joke, it's probably one of the best sounding guitars I own now.
I bought this guitar on sale here for around 240$ (Showroom model). Pickups are Jackson branded Bellcat humbuckers. I removed the black glossy paint and replaced it with an awesome Blue/ White crackle finish and just got some Jeff Beck/Jazz PUs. Right now it is drying in the garage (clearcoat takes a while). I cannot wait to unleash the beast! An awesome guitar for modifications.
piRaufasertapete so you know some fools? OK that was harsh, I haven't seen your guitar and you probably did a great job customizing it...still that's a lot for a dinky.
I forgotten to say, that mine is the purple one, with amarantho fretboard... and I completely agree... the neck is quite good and accurate. Original pickups are not bad. Good guitar good price
I bought one of these recently as my band covers fight for your right by beastie boys. I'm tuned to Eflat and play the solo at the 17th fret, the frets are great if you have cigar fingers like me. You'll play licks on this guitar you never thought you'd play. Not bad at all for what I paid for it. Great pickups, great neck and took 0 effort to set up despite never owning a floating trem before.
I own this guitar. Well not that one, I have the js32 quilted maple top. It's fabulous. I changed the pickup magnets to alnico 5's and wax potted them. Highly recommend. Even the import Jackson's seem to hold their value. You can't hardly find a used one under 200. Awesome review max. :)
Max, great review! I've been eyeing a Jackson JS32 Dinky Archtop with a rosewood fretboard and similar specs for a while now on zZounds website. They come in several colors and look really nice. Your review may be the catalyst to push me over the edge to purchase one! 😀👍👍🎸🎶
Robert what's up with zzounds is that for real I look at least once a week it just seems to cool to be real they say certain payment plans they dont even need a credit approval how are the odds if they say you approved you won't get to check out and then they start with the old unfortunately at this time you can not be processed
I've got a JS22 dinky, I'm quite sure that it's pretty much the same guitar but without a floyd rose and it's a beast of a guitar with some amazing tones. In my sincere opinion, the inconveniences that come with having a floyd rose like changing the strings greatly outweigh the stuff you can do with one like crazy dive bombs effects and such.
I got one of those this last January, and I have to say that I really like it, but really HATE the tuning stability problems caused by the hockey stick headstock. If you have managed to beat those problems, I would like to hear what your solution is.
@@edwinstovall3334 Well mine stays in tune amazingly well, either your tuners are defect or the guitar just needs a little more wear. If the problem persists you could always change them with some Chinese tuners, you can get some surprisingly good quality ones for really cheap. Hope this helps!
@@RisingSun96 I hate to say it, but that doesn't really help. I changed my tuners to a set of Wilkinson EZ-LOKs that I had around the first day I had my JS22. I'm planning to change out the plastic nut in the near future, but I also wanted to try making the existing nut right. That way, I could apply the same solution to the new nut if necessary. Not giving up yet, though, and I'm still really enjoying the guitar whether I can use the vibrato or not. Maybe I should try just wearing it in for awhile. Either way, the search continues! Thanks for trying!
Had this same guitar, pickup upgrades. Wish I still had it. Sold it to help get what was supposed to be a better more expensive guitar. It wasn’t. The black JS I had was very good.
Just got this and I love it. It's a steal at the price they're asking. I've got a couple of guitars costing 2-3 as much that can't beat it. If you're new to guitars, get yourself a good amp to go with it. It will make a world of difference.
I actually own a Jackson Soloist 3 Made In Japan, 1992, now this JS32, it’s worth the money! They’re actually the best guitars for Metal, nothing bad to my Soloist and I believe this one with a real Floyd and some DiMarzios or some other type of hot pickups would make it sound like an American Soloist! Woods are great quality!
Best and fastest neck I ever played. The pots they use do not pass enough frequency and hold back the pickups. I in stalled Dragon Fire sealed pots and Dragon Fire 23000 ohm quad rail pickups which turns this guitar into what it should really a Shred Monster!
i Have the Jackson JS34q which is almost the same but with HSS (3 pickups) and its fantastic. Thank you for showing me how awesome i COULD sound if i was as good as you! lol. You help me reinforce that i bought a great little jackson dinky that i have fun playing. Really fun guitar for the price
My ex-girlfriend bought me the Jackson JS32 DKA-M when it came out... had to wait 5 months for it as it was on back-order. Great guitar however the pickups suck and the frets had to be leveled. Other than that it's awesome. Once the pickups were changed (Duncan TB-4 and Duncan `59) it gained so much more character. I have never had to re-adjust the neck... once it is set, it is solid as hell.
Thanks. Yes, finally got a Jackson JS32 Dinky natural oil. Setup ok, its frets needed smoothing.sounds great. all I need to do now is learn how to play it. hehehe
You do some real good playing I can tell a great improvement from your first video. Even though that one was not bad. Keep kicking ass on the guitar. Kind of got that George Lynch sound about you.👍
I've owned many high end guitars in my life but the Jackson necks are just perfect in my opinion. I prefer the hard tail bridge and I string mine up with flat-wound .09's.
Me too!! Purple Pavo! Can't put the damn thing down! I call him my boyfriend and named him Emppu after the Nightwish guitarist who also plays a purple guitar. Lol. I have a Fender as well and played them back to back and the Jackson made me cry. It sounds so fucking good!! And... well...PURPLE!!!
Great budget guitars. I actually have thought about buying one without the Floyd. I also like the reverse headstock models from the past. I just wish companies would use something besides plastic cheap nuts, although I've not seen this one. Another sleeper, at least on paper is the Ibanez SA series. I think about the same price range, and the small body, and ESPECIALLY THE WONDERFUL S SERIES INPUT JACK, and just comfortable to play. The one I tried was. Always good stuff. Thanks.
I have it in white and I have a Squier Strat. Guess which one I love the play by far. Oh my goodness, the neck is super awesome to play. I can't shred but I love the ease and smoothness of the neck. I'd like to get a Soloist next. Love this guitar.
Go the quilted blue with the maple neck. Tweeked the Floyd a bit, new strings. Wish I could play as well as this guy, mine would do it. Low action, not a dead note anywhere.
I have the HSS. When I first got it, played just clean through the amp. Just play ass a hobby, haven't bought an electric since my 17 year old Kramer. So responsive and different in all configurations.
Rogue Outbreak it would be a wise choice go for the tune a matic bridge with the strings thru the body you will save money and have less frustration stringing and tuning a floyd is a fierce learning curve good luck with this lifetime commitment
Is it worth it? I am also considewring to buy this guitar... i love metal and played classical for years now i try to find an affordable beginner guitar with an metal amp for under 500 bucks... Any recommendations?
I first thought I was looking at and hearing Keanu Reeves, or a relative ~ LOL. Anyway, MC makes it sounds great and pretty clean; just wish he would mention what amp he is plugged into too. Rock on ...
I just bought one of these. The tuners are junk, the tremolo is junk too. It took me several hours to get it tuned where it mostly stays in tune. The neck and body are very nice. Someday I will more than likely put some grovers on it and a better quality Floyd rose. Even the fine tuners are sloppy and barely hold their adjusted positions. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a great price, I would send it back or sell it.
Yeah, I grabbed one up too and had the same issue. I tightened up the tuners cause they were lose but not too tight to mess with the rubber gasket things and that improved the tuning stability a lot. I'd still replace them but you can do that in the mean time. The bridge is a lost cause in my opinion.
@@joshuataylor8294 I've been looking at this model for months but I've seen a lot of similar comments that cause me to step back. I've got five fixed bridge guitars and would like something with a trem but I'm not going to tolerate a lot of aggravation with something like this.
@@stevenpatterson9593 If you can get one used for for less than $200, I would recommend it just because you could get a Floyd rose for about $200 and they're not difficult to replace. That's the one thing preventing this model from being a perfect budget shredder.
So i'm looking for a new axe and I'm coming from a Strat style. I'd consider myself beginner - intermediate. I want more of a modern sound possibly with Floyd Rose for... yes you guessed it... DIVE BOMBS. Now I know there are ways to set up and upgrade your guitar to get the same result but these are the ones I've narrowed it down to. Yes, I'm using the term narrowed down lightly. Also, because its Covid I can't go in and try all of these. The most I can do is buy one and if I don't like it I can return it within 30 days. That just sounds unreasonable. I've done a shit ton of listening tests with and without headphones online, tonnes of comparisons and I'm only more confused. Would love any help and insight. Not trying to break the bank but also don't want to go half way. JACKSON JS32 DINKY or SCHECTER OMEN SERIES OMEN 6 or JEM555 or JACKSON X SERIES SOLOIST SLX DX or IBANEZ SA360 or IBANEZ SA260FM or Kramer Assault T220 with Floyd Rose - Ebony
Jose Torres hell yeah I would ! Also. I would suggest upgrading the licensed Floyd to the real deal in the near future but that’s just my personal preference. Out the box this guitar kicks some serious ass !
You adress the fret edges only. I adress the bad woods, the sticky finishes, the really bad cavity shaping, the thin and not resonant sound and the overpricing of the higher models of course (went up 20% in one year alone).
I have one with dots on the neck (no binding) and a reversed headstock. It really screams when you use a tube amp. Stays in tune and The power cords sing out too.
Then you are a chick or gay but iether way it's cool you have a great guitar I've been playing for 30 yrs and own almost exclusively Jackson ,but now fender baught them out we will see
Look 👀I’ve owned everything from Les Pauls to strats to Pro Charvel over the years. This guitar for the Money is a Great buy. You have to tweak it a bit to fit your style but you have to do that with a $2 k guitar too!! And a decent guitar player can make a turd with One string sound good.its all in your hands. This guitar has a super nice Neck and is extremely playable suprisingly! Nothing is perfect for $299 but this is pretty fuckin close
