Usually the water district adds user fees or the city with issue Muni Bonds to pay for these types of system upgrades. This is neglect by the civic leaders of Jackson.

@@AlexisDyan ..the mayor of Jackson has said they've deferred maintenance for over 30 years. If Jackson needs to fix and upgrade water treatment and intake this should be the county taxing district responsibility. They levy and proportion property taxes according to their infrastructure needs.

That is a GOOD IDEAL ,and it makes sense,should you try to get to the TV station and tell them your ideal ,it would alleviate stress also ,their officials have let them down ,remember when you go to the voting booth,they have put families in peril

The government should contract some large water trucks to drive around to neighborhoods and let people fill up rather than have everyone line up at the water station. Send out like a few dozen water trucks to cover the city, that way people don't need to all be bunched up in one place and make the line longer.

Most of the more rural states just have no walk ability. It's driving or nothing.

How far, a mile or more? How many gallons of water can you carry any great distance? How about your 80 year old grandma? What if they allotted 20 gallons per person? I agree it's a total waste of gas, but humans can't survive without clean water. This is a straight up emergency situation. Gas is wasted, time is wasted, and sadly, lives could be wasted.

You'd think if you're are tired of the same old thing that you'd try something different but never underestimate the power lower intelligence to keep on repeating something that never works at all. No, you're incorrect. The STATE OS MS received $430 million dollars to fix water issues. The City of Jackson (the capital city) only received $20 million out of $430 million.

@@DarkLightHuntress Yes but “law” has a different meaning and applicability where both history and the present are backwards enough that people are just trying to forget and survive with as little effort as possible. Is most of Africa on running water and sewer? No. Half a billion people in the world don’t even live within range of any “restroom” facilities. They just accept a lot more disease, death, and environmental contamination as the price for that.

The US is not an African country, we were better once. And what does that say about the rest of the US, if any state within it reverts back to the level of a third world country? Can it really call itself a first world nation anymore?
