If you have any question, doubt or whatever about the guitar, please leave a comment down below in the comments section. I'll be more than happy to help you.
Remember, I don't know if changing to EMGs will help, I'm gonna try it and keep you updated.
Again, this doesn't mean the guitar completely sucks, but it's a big issue. I think it's a great guitar to mod it for 260 bucks.

I installed the EMG Het Set in that same guitar and it made a huge amazing difference

I did the same thing, but with the 81/85 set. Noise is gone and sounds and plays just insane! I'm making a video about it. Thanks for watching!

I have one of these. No hum - use a noise gate etc. It did need work though - sharpe fret ends - and needed fret levelling, so a few hours with a stewmac fret kisser, z files and micro mesh pad is required. These are expensive of course. Conclusion:Cheap and not very cheerful at first - but with work. Riffarama.

Mine had a lot of hum due to the paint on the hardware but was set up perfectly out of the box. That was my only issue, sorry to hear that. Thanks for watching!

If the problem is the paint preventing proper grounding i would think that removing paint in a small portion of the bridge just to make the soldering should fix it. What other pieces do you wanna ground? not everything is grounded in a guitar.

The ground connection links all the metal components of your guitar, returning the electrical signal to the amplifier. This removes unwanted noise, and allows the safe dissipation of electricity. Electromagnetic interference, or EMI, surrounds us in every aspect of our lives from our mobile phones to the lights in our houses. These emitters of noise get picked up by your guitar and exaggerated by an amplifier, but with proper grounding, you can ensure that this unwanted noise is kept to a minimum." (Northwest Guitars, 2023). I'm not an expert on the topic... This means that if something is not grounded properly or partially obstruct the grounding, there's gonna be noise. That means properly grounded. I tried removing the paint from the screws on the bridge (saddles and the bridge's screws that goes to the guitar)and where strings sit but it wasn't enough because the problem is that all the hardware on the guitar is painted with that paint. And sanding all the hardware... It's a lot of work buyers shouldn't do. I think it's better to use a different paint or in my case, I switched to active pockups and it is gone. Love the guitar now... And for 420 buck it's still worth it. Sorry for the long answer but I really want to help people out there. Thanks for watching!

@@CarloFenrir yes I'm a mechanical engineer myself and have and as part of my career i have electrical knowledge at some extent. That's why i say that paint should be removed in just some parts. You don't ground little screws, nor the frets themselves, not tuners eithet so is basically the bridge and related components....of course the input jack.

@NS-dd9ou oh ok that's cool! Yeah I get what you say and like I said I removed the paint in the spots on the bridge that were essential, a luthier helped me. But still there was a lot of noise after that. Like I said I'm no expert so I asked my luthier for help (he knows all about guitar electronics) and still that's the conclusion we got. And still, I think that's something buyers shouldn't deal with, you shouldn't be trying to sand parts of the bridge to see if the noise is gone. Most of the people who buy cheap guitars are beginners, and I think that's the least you want to deal with as a beginner guitarist. However, it's a great guitar overall I just changed for active pick ups and rn is my favourite guitar!

@NS-dd9ou However that's very good to know, thanks for the info. Maybe other people are luckier than me.

@@CarloFenrir let's hope i'm luckier than you. I believe i was trying to deny the reasons you mentioned just because i had press the buy button a few minutes before watching you video and was like "no, this in not the problem, nor i'm gonna have this problem"...let's see!

They need to be active from my knowledge so you eliminate the need for grounding.

Yes you are right, took me a while to knew that! I got the EMG 81/85 set on sale in amazon. Now is almost dead silent and it wasn't difficult to install, no modifications needed for the battery. I'll make a video about it later. Thanks for reaching out man! And thanks for watching!

Whats a good V style guitar under $500?
@CarloFenrir
@CarloFenrir 6 месяцев назад
I changed the pickups on the Rhoads for some active EMGs and it's my favourite guitar right now (new video coming later). So I would say this guitar plus a pair of active pickups, so you bypass the grounding issues due to the paint (actives don't use guitar's ground). The guitar cost me arround 260 bucks plus 200 of the EMGs that's 460 bucks. I chose the EMGs because of their solderless system, plus you don't have to modify the guitar, everything fits on the cavity. However, I would try the Jackson JS32T with the gold hardware, the one that has a natural finish, maybe that guitar doesn't have that issue and it's around the same price. Idk if epiphone has a V around that price. Or check Jackson's website, maybe they have something around 500 or a little bit less. Btw, you can look for some used EMGs. You can find the 81/85 set for cheap or maybe the SD Blackouts.
