The noise problem were worse with the stock pick ups, but maybe i don't know something, maybe you can help me resolve the problem. If you know about this stuff, feel free to comment about it on the comments section. Thanks!

I had the same issue with a couple guitars of mine. The main issue in my case is that the pickup height screws weren't well connected to other parts due to shield paint worn out overtime. So, I shielded the cavities with copper tape and make sure all metal parts connected. It costs me $5 or less and it's now dead silent. Problem solved. You can try to do so.

Hey man, thanks for watching! The issue with this guitar is that the type of paint they used on the hardware don't let the guitar make proper ground. I made a video about it. However, thanks for sharing your experience, can be a useful tip!

Hum-type noise is generally grounding issues. One thing to look out for, especially in this price range, is making sure *all* the strings have ground contact via the bridge. Some light sanding with higrit paper usually helps. And, I've owned this model, great axe for the price! Of course, I put EMGs in - which are much less susceptible.

Thanks for reaching out man! I have an update talking about it. It is the paint of the hardware that doesn't let the guitar make proper ground. I checked it with a multimeter and checked all the wiring. But I put a pair of active EMGs and the problem is gone. Best guitar, I love it! I will make a video about it! Thanks for watching!

I had evil grounding issues, too. Gave her a set of (active !) AHB1 Seymour Duncan Blackouts. It was noisy, now it's dead silent. The pickups fit the character of the axe perfectly. So I payed 310 for the guitar new and 100 for the used Blackouts and it became my numbero uno guitar in my collection. I have guitars that cost almost up to 10 times the price, but are nowhere near as easy and fun to play. The blackouts just sound amazing, not over the top like the AHB2 ones. With more character than EMG 81 pickups. I always felt those have a gooey/flat characteristic. I was surprised how much I liked the original Jackson pickups, but now that I have the Duncans, it's no contest, a world of difference. Gave her locking tuners, black coated strings and a black leather strap with rivets. Never did I have such a bad ass looking guitar.

Thanks for sharing your experience man! I came to the active pickups conclusion too! I researched and saw that was the solution, and now you just confirmed it with your experience! And yes this guitar just slays man, I really like it. It plays like a dream. Glad your roblems were solved. I bet you Jackson looks killer. I'm thinking about the 81/85 set, I have it on my Cort and it just sound great. But I'm gonna checkout the Blackouts too! Thanks for the info and for watching!

Wish I knew how you did that minor/diminish sounding chord at 1:47. But yeah that aside it definitely sounds like a ground problem. Excellent playing but unfortunate you have to deal with that on a guitar as is it really is unbearable with that much feedback

Thanks for watching man! I think I found the problem, the paint on the bridge don't let the guitar make proper ground. About the chord, it is a 4 note minor chord. On the 5th fret of the 5th string make a power chord with the octave added, and then add the 3rd on the 2nd string. The chord on a tab would look like this: 5 7 7 6 Hope I could help.

is oiling the fretboard a good idea......if so....with what......?
@CarloFenrir
@CarloFenrir 4 месяца назад
Once in a while to clean and condition it. The material on this fingerboard is Amaranth, look for an oil that you can use on that type of wood. As far as I know, amaranth is an unfinished wood fingerboard so you can use the dunlop lemon scented oil for unfinished woods. However, double check before applying it. A tip I discovered a while ago is that the oil that guitar brands use is mineral oil and they just put lemon scent on it, so you can save a couple of bucks buying just mineral oil. Despite this, double check the info. I know my way around giving my guitars a set up and stuff, but still. Thanks for watching!

I made an update video, the problem is the paint the hardware was painted with. Doesn't let the guitar make proper ground. Checked it out with a multimeter after checking all the wiring. I scratched some of the paint but didn't help that much. I don't know about the gold hardware you should check it out. However, I've just seen this kind of issue in guitars with the hardware painted in black. Glenn Fricker had the same problem with a Harley Benton. So maybe with the gold hardware you won't have any issues. So, all in all, it's an amazing guitar, if you really like it, I would say buy it and swap the pick ups for a pair of active emgs, seymour or maybe fishman (active pickups don't use the guitar ground). You can buy the EMGs used for cheap. I did that with mine, and it's my favourite guitar right now. Just consider that you might spend a 100 bucks more, but I think it's worth it. But check the other one first. I'll make a video about the whole process of swapping pickups on mine. Hope I could helped!

ooohooo there`s something bad with your guitar sound - believe me that noise is out of the ordinary - i don`t even use the noise gate anymore. I had that ugly sound when i used a digitech death metal distortion pedal.

Yeah... It's a pain in the ass. However, I found out it was the paint on the bridge that didn't let the guitar make proper ground.
