Shoutout to her, cool story, but an F-tier kick if she wasn't trying to do an onside, C-tier if she was. I'm sure she could get better with practice, they were saying she's a soccer player, so that'll take some adjusting.
It's virtue signaling nonsense. If somehow there wasn't a guy already on the team who could kick more than 20 yards and therefore they had to get somebody they could go to the men's soccer team and find someone to do PK.
They literally could have gotten any of the men on the men's soccer team. They decided it would be better to go woke and give the team the ball on the 38 yard line for their first drive.
The announcers reactions to it were the best. I've never seen someone try to justify something so obviously bad. I feel bad for laughing as hard as I did.
@10thletter40 That’s the first thing that came to my mind!!! It’s the most likely reason that she didn’t follow through on the kick!!! Her leg stopped just as soon as she made contact with the ball!!! There’s no way she had the ability to perform a kick off!!!! Her leg should have at least been level with her hip as she kicked that ball!!! The kick she made would barely move the soccer ball any more than it did the football!
@@DevotedDisciple-x Nah, even the women soccer players I know kick that harder. She had no follow through and hit it 20 yds. Any female soccer player can hit it 40 yd if they are somewhat competent
@@rogerpriest2368 it’s only a pooch kick because that’s all she could do. You literally could have gotten anybody else on the team to do that. Lame PR gimmick. Coach Prime would never lol
@@10thletter40teams will only do that early in the game if the return team has a horrible alignment and can exploit it. All of these woman kickoffs are just plain bad.
And here we are living in the world we can't say what everybody knows because of political, gender or whichever correctness. The kick was terrible. Even when we try to pretend it was an onside kick, it would've be terrible too. The point is we shouldn't be harsh on other people but trying to find excuses or making a whole story around someone's failures only humiliate them even more.
Right on the mark. The Emperor has no clothes, but in today's "woke" America, no one dare say so. The most pathetic part of this was the announcers' "woke" analysis.
@@DevotedDisciple-x what? patting your team mate on the butt in football is sexual assault? i just saw a guy do it to another guy few times last saturday!
@@SgtJoeSmith It's a completely normal tradition in men's sports. But I'm saying, how long until we get the "me too" nonsense labelled on a group of young men for doing it to a female player? This woke, virtue signalling nonsense has to stop. It's embarrassing for women, annoying for men and is ruining the sport the more it goes on.
@nothingleft3473 well I agree with what your saying but shouldn't women be treated equally as men in men's sports? Otherwise she will complain everyone else gets a pat on butt by coach except her so coach is discriminating or sexist. That's the problem. You are plucked if you do and plucked if you don't. They let men in women's clothes on women's teams in women's locker rooms. Does she use same locker room as men? In late 80s in Jr high. This chunky girl that looked like fat boy was center on Jr high football team. She had to change alone in bathroom or something. I agree with you on the me too bs. But honestly if a girl wants to be on men's team she should share same locker room and same pats on butt or whatever. And anyone acting like she different or making comments in locker room kicked off team. I mean we all know what a naked woman looks like as adult and they all know what a man looks like. So just act like you all room mates and shower together and high five for good game. But like you said. That'll never happen. Liberals looking to sue over anything they can. Cheers for your replies
JSU scored 2, 6, 6, and 8 in each respective quarter. I'm presuming no points came from kicking. And for someone with "experience", that's pretty shitty...
I'm all for inclusion, but this is starting to go too far. If you're going to let a female kick, at least make sure she's not just recovering from an ACL injury. You can't make me believe that a college football team couldn't find a player on the roster who can at least kick the ball off. I guess it won't be stopped until one of these young ladies get seriously injured and unfortunately, at some point it's going to happen. smh
I agree, and it also fuels the side of "Girl's can't play mens sports". I believe a woman could absolutely kick the ball. I just don't believe they could tackle if they had to. To that point though, I don't think many kickers can tackle if they had to. Like, sure, a man could probably kick it much further but if you could find a female that could kick it 45ish yards consistently... more consistently than a man that could kick it 60 yards, she would be more valuable. Maybe even as another kicker that just has some crazy 95% success rate. I don't know that such a female would ever exist but in the world of football, where you cannot touch the kicker, a female could be effective.
There's a reason it was "once called" men's sports. They have full contact female football leagues if a woman is that passionate about football. Sometimes the word "no" (as in you can't play football with men) is in everyone's best interest, but somehow people have become afraid to use that word in fear of backlash. I don't care because I would tell my daughter "HELL NO" if she asked me to play men's football. See there, I myself just said "men's football" instead of just football. @@megadeuce-b7c
I've never had a vested interest in HBCU sports teams until Deion Sanders short but successful run in Jackson State and I'll tell you, most of those schools are underfunded, mismanaged, mired with constant authority changes because of scandals or not wanting to bear the responsibility of building up the university and just overall incompetence. You would NEVER see this with a university in contract with a Power 5 Conference but you would be shocked at how abysmal these sports teams are run. I'm amazed at how Deion was even able to transform the culture of JSU in the mere 2 years he was there.
You should also know that a lot of HBCU coaches despised Deion. I call it the Buck and the Preacher network because all they do is rotate the coaching carousel with all those old black coaches, or their sons, grandsons and nephews. He came in fresh and stirred the pot and made some real enemies. He came in winning and the only games most HBCUs care about is their classic and homecoming games. He proved that with the right coaching there are some really good athletes and winners at HBCUs. @@TheyCallMeSledge
The announcers weren't very informed on this one. The JSU coach probably told her to squib kick it. If she kicks it long, there is a big chance she would have to face a blocker. He didn't want to end up at the top of sportcenter fails for seeing this girl get blasted or them running back the kick-off.
I have literally kicked the ball 25 yards on a tee just goofing around, and I am in no way a football player. You mean no guy on the team could do that? Hilarious. And the poor announcers were too scared to say it was a shank, which is what they would have said for any guy.
I love the way the broadcast guy says.....we are........under way! lol😂 then they both try to throw in the possibility of an oneside or pooch kick trick play 😆
This is why we have sentences like “throws like a girl” and now “kicks like a girl” Keep mocking and pointing and laughing at this ridiculousness. That’s all we can do and it’s what they hate the most.
This video description shortchanged us....there's way more history here than a girl suiting up as kicker for Jackson State. Based on that kick she probably is already history.
Do we have to wait until a woman ends up in ICU battling for her life before we stop this stupid stuff? If by some miracle that ball was in play, she is a live target to be taken out, and taken out she would be, unless there are instructions not to. Then we have to ask, is this junk even real and worthy of anyone’s time and money? I am continually amazed at the lack of integrity in the human being.
History was made but not the good kind. She played because they had to virtual signal that woman can play with men when they know they can't. Just look at how bad her kick was. Don't tell me it was an onside kick. No team starts the game with an onside kick. Also, don't tell me they don't have a man that could kick from their soccer team. Boo Jackson St for going woke instead of standing for reality.
@@megadeuce-b7c Most opposing coaches even in mid-major level know the formation of an onside kick when they see one and will be ready for it. This was most certainly a kickoff gone awry.
Amazing how every time a female comes out to kick the ball, it's assumed to have been a pooch kick or onside kick. Also amazing that the female soccer team had someone available, but the male soccer team didn't. Totally not virtue signalling anywhere here.
She did not. Not even an extra point. They conveniently went for two every time they got a touchdown. When I was in grade school, the best athlete in school was a girl. She could do it all and happened to be the smartest and most talented person as well. Unfortunately, the girl in this video was playing with MEN, while injured, and had no business being in the game.
Good for her - as a guy with a competitive spirit, I'll accept most challenges that come my way. No shame in her saying yes when she was asked and going out there and doing it. My only issue is the logic of having specifically *her* as the kicker in this game. She's subbing for an injured college level football kicker. Why on earth replace him with an injured women's soccer player? No other healthy teammates of hers that could have been selected? No healthy athletes from the men's team? It's just weird to pick the one with the ACL still in recovery.
They obviously picked her because they wanted to virtue signal but knew the women would do terrible. With her having an injury they can use that as an excuse for the poor performance. I don't sugar coat and I damn sure don't coddle feelings. That garbage builds woke, weak people and we have enough of that as it is.
1. Why is a white woman playing for an HBCU? 2. What coach would let a kicker come out with a knee brace. I could see any other position. But the kicker?
