As a Band parent, I can see the dedication and attention to detail these kids have. People don't realize how many hours of practice go into each and every performance. Kudos to the band director and the school.
I tell ya, NOBODY does it like an HBCU! Our local high school band leader is an HBCU graduate and he has our high school marching band come out just like this! It is a sight to see bc none of the other schools come out on the field like the Central Gwinnett Black Knights!!! Inspires the kids to attend HBCUs too!
When I was 14 years old I had made it my plan to attend Jackson State University and March in the band I thought about becoming a J5 Drum Major, Snare Drummer, Trombone Player, and I thought about becoming the Head Drum Major I think that I can do it and I also thought becoming the Band Director at Jackson State University.
Dreams are Wonderful!❤ To have. Just realize, dreams look like U, dreams feel gud, dreams taste flavorful. Funny thing is 😄 the Drum Majors now once Dreamed the Impossible Dreams. Reach for the Shining 🌟 Stars! That's how ur Dreams Really Come True!🧚🌠 We waiting on You!😮

These young adults are on the ball. Just watching them took me back to my high school/ college days. I know it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, commitment and love. They are ALL in sync with each other. I am so proud of them. They brought tears to my eyes. Thank you! 🙏🥰
@@antoniohoward981 where? At least they’re not breaking into the White House or 12 and 14 year old having a shootout with cops.. those babies are doing a little thing not bothering anyone.
@@antoniohoward981Because of people like you there will always be haters. These are college students not out killing anyone. Now stop being an abuser of mankind and a liar.
A Ceremonious Performance of Kings & Queens displaying their style of marching with excellence and precision! The beats from the band, on point. Only to top it off sporting Royal Blue!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Also-- I gotta add a shout out to your *camera person* as well, that was one hell of a long, cinematic walk. Loved the POV with y'all following them. Outstanding job
Back in the day, 1976, I was the only girl on a competitive band Drumline, I was on a snare. Two years later, I transitioned over to the Rifle line. Most bands don't have those now. Regardless, those memories are priceless, probably the reason I encouraged my son while he was in high school to be in the band. Jackson State, your formations look amazing, and your choreography, top notch. So glad this popped up on my RU-vid!!
The sound of a HBCU band just sends chills down my spine. I really wish I could have experienced this in college and been around my people. Unfortunately I grew up in WA.
My soul felt this from start to finish. Im a decades long 🎶music lover🎶 This video suggestion randomly popped up and i am glad i did, i was floored...🤯👍🏼 To me, the tempo, harmonization, and, flow felt 💯% powerful 🎼 👉Respect👈 🏆 I wish this channel, and, these young collegiate performers a successful and blessed future. ✌🏽🖖🏽
Absolutely incredible. I'm a former band geek, current dance teacher. Love this choreography--perfect blend of hip hop and old school Broadway jazz. Particularly love the rock-step they do to mark time. Can't wait to see a half time show if they put this much work into the march-out.
This was a phenomenal 🔥 performance by JSU!! Those drum majors certainly know how to get the crowd up and on their feet!! Great 👍🏽 Job Guys and I love the New Uniforms🩵🙏🏽🩵
Previous trombone player from Norway here (with some fancy marching under my belt). This was another level. I had seen videos with Ohio, but I need to find other marching bands too. This was so much fun. Most of the marching I see is Edinburgh Tattoo style. That is fun, of course, but this is something else!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽So very happy to note that we’re able to see the entire band . This gives everyone the opportunity to feel good about being part of a fabulous band! 🎉🎉🎉
Even though I didn't attend a HBCU, I always stand in awe of their awesome bands! Even though they lost against Florida A&M, they came through with this exit performance!
Mine as well . I took my great-nephew to the first game in Atlanta and during our journey from Detroit to Atlanta I was humming both songs and when he heard them playing them he was like oh my God they're playing what you have been humming to all day and I said yes my favorite songs ❤️ the 💥
I want to shout out 2 people y'all probably always look over...the banner girls!!! Pretty smiles and dimples the whole time!!!! The rest of the band is fabulous as usual but lets not forget the banner divas!
"They are doing good, they are working those instruments! I use to love to watch high school bands, back in my day it was "The Sterlin High School band and South Side High school band, were two of the best bands, they had the moves, I tried finding information on Serlin High school band some months ago, I found a little information but most of it is missing or destroyed?
Man the choreography and showmanship are just insanely beautiful, just unreal. The band, those colors! I Dont even want to watch the game, I want to watch them. Damn, then the drum line and this band is HUUGE. Do you know how hard this is !? Black people are beautiful.
The entire band and dancers are amazing. But the boys in blue!!!! Looking clean and crisp and moving like water. Slow and smooth then rapid and rough👏🏽🔥
Wow love the uniforms they are so chic and the energy amazing. My Uncle Luther & Ruth Williams would be so proud and my parents Donald & Shelva Williams love just love Jackson State that's were they met and married their senior year and I was born 6 months later their baby daughter Gina Williams.
Oh, I love marching bands. My only one I have ever seen at a game was Ohio State band doing Script Ohio which was one of my favorite memories. From the Irish, British and American marching bands, I truly love the marching bands from the black colleges. Just love those soulful movements that only the black marching bands bring. Wonderful.
