Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band & Prancing J-Settes (2019) MLK Day Parade Jackson, MS January 19, 2019 Follow me on Instagram: @trin.t
Yung O'bannon l just love me some us and I'm so very proud of our young adults especially how the lady's did their M's Black America Wave to say hello to the crowd that came out on this very special day. I smiled through the entire video as the crowd gathered cheers from the heart.
I would LOVE to see JSU in the Tournament of Roses parade. I’m an ASU Hornet alum and was so proud to see our band and FAMU in the parade. My brother is a JSU alum and former Sonic Boom member. JSU’s stadium entrance is the best in my opinion.
Drum majors are so elite. You can tell that they are groomed to be their best. And I like how the Jsettes are “dressed down “ and still look cute and classy
Big 12 band member here - all I can say is this is what Excellence looks like. The Drum Majors, Settes, Band, everything. Y'all have so much pride in your art and it shows!
I respect your hustle and constant strive to perfect your craft. Being a member of another SWAC band, you continue to support others while building your brand. Salute to you man!
I love the class they exude. They are very graceful and reminds me of black renaissance dancers for some reason. Also love that someone is capturing these moments.
Ever since I started watching this university marching band, I fell in love with them. I live in Kentucky and was hoping to get to see them perform in 2019. It hurts to hear that the lead drum major is going to be graduating soon. Congratulations, to Abraham for putting his permanent mark of Excellence to the J5. To the remaining J5, and to the entire band, keep bringing the HEAT!! JSU for life. May God continue to bless each and every one of you.
Abraham left a true legacy for J5 and the band itself. I’m looking forward to seeing the next head Drum Major continue that legacy that Abraham left. Abraham you are the G.O.A.T.✊🏽🔥🔥
I would love to be a J-Sette for a day but I'm 29 yrs old lol We need this type of amazing talent and bands in Indianapolis. Nothing like that exists here.
Get some friends together and make a jsette style dance team. A good way to exercise and participate in local parades + mentor young girls. You can do it
Omg your in indy too..i feel the same way...realized how much potential i missed out on not having someone pushing me or having this kind of exposure until now. I came across your comment.
So awesome the lead drum major is from my hometown!!!! Awesome. Supporting HBCU's all the way! I love my people. Other races try to be us so bad. We are such beautiful beings. Can't wait to have a child one day and praying that my child or children will attend and graduate from a HBCU!
Love this band! Ladies, your outfits are beautiful. The whole marching band is just great to watch. Congrats to those marching their last year! Everyone of you should be proud of representing JSU😊 Go Blue!
Ooouuu!! okay Captain, 21:22, moving them hips like a tahitian dancer. I bet you girls would be so good at tahitian dancing. Love it. Love JSU Jsettes, amazing performers and all so beautiful. Cant finish my comment without thanking TRIN.T for this amazing video. It was amazing as usual. All TRIN.T's work is incredible. As much as I would love to be able to watch my fav band and dancers live, I'm glad I have TRIN.T who will bring the entertainment to my computer screen and make it the next best thing. Its like Im there watching it. So thank you trin.t for blessing us with your incredile work.
The jsettes are formidable and I have a crush on the lead majorette. She always smiles and seems genuinely happy to be doing her thing. He’ll, they all do their job well. Very well! I’ll miss seeing the familiar faces of this band, however, I look forward to the new faces who will carry the torch. Greatness and prosperity for everyone in this program, and keep inspiring the masses.
Love love love the winter wardrobe! Can we get a performance uni made like this for next year. Tiger print on the arms and legs, and solid color in the middle. That would be dope af!
So good I heard the little foot steps n movements! I'm like, dang these girls smooth wit it.. Whoo! The Band did amazing, I'm out of breath listening n prancing wit them in my head! All this. Exquisite..im so proud to be Black. This was inspiring and one last thing Love Live MLK
Man I miss them days dearly.😢 Those was some of the best days of my life, playing in the Marching Band..Everyone was on point👍. If you guys are looking for a 55 year old sax player hit me up😂. By the way my youngest daughter says the dance leader is definitely a leader..👏👏👏
Ok TRiNT, you're a Juke and a class act my friend! You did an amazing job filming JSU here. Ok JSU, I'm truly loving the song "Sunshine" by Coko @11:50, but it's too short. I love how Kayla went into that strut at the beginning of the song. That song sound way to good to be so short. The DM's were on point, and the Jsettes were amazing as usual! Well done!
I’m a die hard Stingette Fan , but I absolutely love Kayla .... you can’t help but fall in love with her 😍.... my Stingettes struggled this season, but my fav this season has been the Jsettes . From their uniforms , stands , and field routines. Keep up the great work Kayla 💙💙
Russell Smith ASU Alum here (class of ‘77). I love the Stingettes and the Jsettes. My brother is a former Sonic Boom member, so I have a soft place in my heart for the Boom. But I thought the Stingettes looked good in the Tournament of Roses parade. Made me wish I could go back in time and be a Stingette, lol.
Yes, I agree I was kind of disappointed. I was expecting more this season with Jada as Stingette captain, but everything happens for a reason. The J-settes was definitely the squad to watch across all platforms this season. Kudos to Kayla !
@@marcellmarselius2307 first jada is not the captain JANAE IS AND THEY CLEARLY HAVE 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT STYLES...THE ASU STINGETTES ARE MY FAVORITE PERIOD.....
Dowell Taylor became band director my senior year in the Boom in 1984. He has retired and come back, retired and come back several times and he is still awesome!! T.O.P. Represent!! 🎷
I never get tired of seeing this move at parades @32:23 Kayla killed it the entire parade shit the whole team killed it...I live in California and I need to see them in person I might have to get flewed out next season to go to a game lol.
I love every video of this band! The discipline is superb. My favorite part of the band is the girls. Not just for there beauty, but for there energy and discipline, great job Jackson state!
Here is another super fantastic video coming from you loved it from start to finish and also loved the band 😄 they look fantastic and 😄 those young ladies also looked super fantastic too. and thanks 😄
TRAVIS MOET It would be nice to have them come down for Mardi Gras.............but those other colleges, most of those band directors are SU Alumni Band Members. Let's see what this years Mardi Gras will bring 👌👌👏🏼
Yes, I agree...They are well known locally, but if Jackson State participated in the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, it will give them the recognition they so deserve, and the audience will be amazed as well. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over flock to New Orleans each year for Mardi Gras! Jackson State's Marching Band will definitely be a force to be reconed with!!!
the j-settes are my favorite dance line they are the essence of perfection in my humble opinion. They are the type women that will make you want to Settle down with a decent 9 to 5 with corporate benefits lol
Never got into band. I just love to watch them perform. Crazy bc my lil sister was the twirler of TSU lol. But this is so awesome!! Lately I been watching a lot of teams performing and it fun and exciting !
Thanks for this video. Searched for the Maryland State marching band from the 1960's. You have preserved this. Theirs may be lost to the ages. They were wonderful. As is the JCUMB & PJ-S
So much space. I so wish I was there ..I watched this whole thing - halfway thru I done learned the counts and the music I kept envisioning myself teleporting mid thru the countsin the middle of all them, us in unison
