Coming from a white man, this band is not only famous in the US, but the whole world. People will buy tickets to a JSU game just to watch the half time performance. Everyone loves J S U band.
I know that this is a habit with these bands, but to me it looks ridiculous and undignified, especially when half the instruments are probably not in tune.
I went crazy, and I live in the UK; I also love this game and because we, as a culture, make it a positive art and a professional discipline in preparation for what awaits them on the other side of their academic years in college. Simply culture pleasing. I can't wait for the day to visit and watch a college game, and a band performance....
I love these bands. Sonic Boom never disappoints on showmanship, talent, and just pure hype. I am so proud to say that this band comes from my home state. Keep it up guys and I can't wait to see what this band brings.
I'm white I grew up in a white neighborhood I played in a white high school and I'm playing in a white college and even still I love HBCU bands (Literally live like 5 miles away from Bethune-Cookman and our football games were at their stadium). Corps and Show bands both have some amazing moments and I really wish I could experience playing in a show band I just wish there wasn't such a racial divide in my area. My high school was literally like 90% white and our rival high school was the exact opposite and they were a show band so I feel sort of locked out from ever having that experience. I know usually whatever you grow up in is going to be what you're probably going to be stuck in when it comes to band "genres". When it comes down to it Corps are suppose to be about art and beauty and show bands are suppose to be about getting excited and having a good time (not saying I didn't love playing in a Corps style band) but I really REALLY wish I could experience it even for just one season.
I hope you or your children wiil one day have the opportunity to do that which seems to be a genuine heart's desire but out of reach only because of race.
Go for it guy ? Check out Vanilla Funk over at Jeff Davis High School in Montgomery Ala. ? He's white at predominately Black School,he 's Head Drum Major, and Dam Good. I think he has a Scholar ship to Alabama St. He's on Utube.
This band is so Awesome!!! I was a Majorette in my younger years and now teach little ones how to twirl their batons...When I hear a band like this I want to start marching and twirling my baton again!! Fantastic Sonic Boom!!!
I’m truly a j state fan, but was I the only one that saw the second drum major fall at the beginning. Great reflexes because buddy got right up and continued to show his skills. I believe!!!!
Mlynnea12 Man u know ! There was nothing better to be warming up and preparing for kick off and the BOOM's Get ready start roarin thru memorial Stadium the best of times in the 80's oh yeah the winning was a big help to.
Being from Pensacola you were either FAMU or Grambling. I was always and still am a Boomer. I met a lot of people in the Military that were Alums. I would give them their props.
Maaaaannn....I can watch Grambling, Alcorn, Bethune-Cookman, NCATT, MVSU, Alabama State and any other great HBCU band. But my heart will ALWAYS be with the SONIC BOOM OF THE SOUTH💙💙💙💙
same to me I grew up listening to my uncles talk about the Sonic Boom and it just stuck with me been a dieheart Boom fan for years it's just something about this band they got too much swagga!!
This is why there is never a dull moment with our folks. We just stay creative and continue to out do ourselves. But the females though; gorgeous sistas.
. . .BOOM!!!! - Oh how I miss Locke High School's HB-High School Band. Like so many other Los Angeles inner city high school bands they marched SOUTHERN style! Locke 1960s, 70s, 80s especially. . . MISS, MISS, MISS THAT!!!
3:00 Oh sure it's applause when *they* walk like that, but when *I* walk into work like that it's "The manager wants to see you in her office, and put a coat on first."
No shit, huh?! Dang "kill-joys" they are! I laughed out loud at your comment! That's my typical kinda day too! I just liked the way you said it! Keep on keepin' on, sister friend!
@@BOOMERANGULA well let's just keep marching to the happy music we hear playing in our heads and following those boom bands into work every Monday morning...
