The art in game does a good job of emulating that bland, minimalistic, “everyone has weird proportions and rainbow skin colors” corporate art, while still actually having good character design and interesting environments.
@@mikaelpalm2130 Kurzgesagt is a good example of a simplistic art style because they have character. Most corporate art styles have no character and are like "ok, how do we be as accessible to everyone." "Make it so bland that the only opinions of it can be "Meh" or "Ugh""
Oof this is def one of those companies that’s like “we’re not like other corporations, we let you wear hoodies and call things by stupid made up names” and then they have like the same if not worse work conditions than regular corporate offices
I looked at the twitter of this game's developers and apparently the game is not bringing in enough money so they can't add any more updates without jeopardizing their studio
That’s a shame, I hope the SSS attention helps them out. I got the game because it looks cool, but have to play it in small doses because it hits way too close to home.
I saw this comment but didn't understand until I saw it for myself holy shit, he's got the car, the books, the hair-style, it's exactly like the guy whose name I don't care to remember
I like your ear piercings, Jacob! Also in a previous stream, you talked about experimenting with more feminine clothes and that's so cool. I am inspired to experiment a little bit myself but not sure I have the confidence. You both have an androgynous vibe that is really attractive to me. My Dad sometimes wears 'womens' clothes and loves high heels. He has been doing that since he was about ten but kept it a secret. Only now in his 50's has he started to become confident wearing more feminine clothes in front of some of his family members. I identify as female but I am fascinated with drag kings and queens... also I'm an Illustrator and the whole Drawfee crew is so talented and inspiring to me so thank you!!!
I'm all for the androgyny and wearing what you want, but, having worn high heels once, I can't imagine wanting to wear them. Even most women I know don't really like them--they're just for making them taller or because it's "the fashion." For me personally, I just don't like the lack of color in men's fashion, particularly in more formal settings.
@@ZipplyZane High heels are an odd one - imo they're way too impractical to wear on a daily basis, but for special events they can be very fun. Not only do they create a certain aesthetic (elongate the legs, and also just look cool as a design piece) wearing them puts me in a certain mood - because you have to concentrate and balance while wearing heels, and it takes a skill and practice to walk well in them, they create a sort of heightened, focused mood where you feel dramatic, elegant and powerful. It's a bit like dancing, if that makes sense? Makes you feel like you're performing the whole time you wear them, which can be fun if you have a certain personality and are in a certain mood. Also being tall is indeed a novelty when you're used to getting lost in the crowd. Anyway, no reason anyone should feel pressure to wear heels! They're not for everyone (and definitely not for daily walking around) but I thought I'd give some insight into why people might wear them other than just following a trend ^^ As a side note, there's MASSIVE variation in the comfort level of different heels for different people. If you've tried one pair and thought "how does anyone do this???" you haven't found the right pair. It isn't necessarily to do with height either, just individual fit. Most comfortable pair of heels I ever owned were 4 inch platform stilettos, and I've had chunky 2-3 inch heels that were excruciating after 10 minutes. If anyone out there's interested in trying high heels be prepared to try a few pairs, and give them a really extensive walking test at home / in the shop before committing.
So it just hit me how most likely Jackie isn’t the first intern sent into the dungeon. In fact it may be she can get so far because it’s been cleared out a bit. Imagine that boss sending down one person after another. Being overwhelmed and consumed one after another. It’s brutal
Funny, I was gonna say how this game's mechanics are like those of Undermine, but you get a new character each run because the mage in charge of the mine throws an endless stream of peasants down to their deaths. Would explain why they hired a marketing intern if the computer does all the marketing.
Man, I REALLY want them to play more of this. Like, come for the mechanics, stay for the characters & writing. Just.. "put marv in the dungeon"...oh you guys don't know what you're saying :))))
1:40:41 the number of times I've said the exact words "Boo, what is your deal? I love you so much, but you're a pain in the butt" to my cat while trying to game is incalculable. As a fellow extra needy cat-owner and gamer, I feel this in my soul. The "I love you so much but..." disclaimer always comes right before I tell him how much of a little shitty gremlin he's being.
Hey Julia and Jacob? Will, you ever go back to the second Detective Frog game. I absolutely adore your first play through of "The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game." I know you mentioned after playing the game, that Jacob bought the second game. I was wondering if you two would ever return to the series and make an awesome play through of "Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard." If not that's totally understandable! I thought I ask!
This may be weird to say but your conflict resolution, including under pressure, really shines in some of your SSS videos, and it just adds to the joy for you that you two are contractual partners in marriage now. Keep on keeping on, excellent streamers, A+++
I know this is an older video, but watching it now, it REALLY reminds me of The Hades game (dungeon crawler, the merchant with different power ups, etc)
Jacob exploring his presentation is honestly such a huge inspiration for me doing the same, always great to see others able to be so open and comfortable with it :)
Come join us in Washington State!! It's great here :) There's trees everywhere, even in super urban areas. Confuses the hell out of me when I travel and I'm like, "Where are the trees? What? Where are my tall green friends???" We also have a really good metro system :) you can get an Orca card, which makes riding the bus a lot easier. Also, there's tons of shit in walking distance. I can't drive, so I walk everywhere, and it's super great. (For reference, I live in the Seattle area.) And like,,,,, I know they'll never see this comment lol but it'd be super cool if they moved to Washington :) All the RU-vidrs I know live in like,,,,, LA and shit and it'd be super cool to have some Pacific Northwest rep out there :D feels like everyone always forgets we exist up here ;-;
@@Regalecus_glesne For real! Everyone's always talking about the rest of the states but where are we?? ;-; every time I tell someone I'm from Washington they think I mean DC :(
@@mangachick27 fair enough. I spent college in Portland and I liked that much better as far as getting you where you need to go with a minimum of confusion, but I can agree that the Orca cards work just fine.
I went and found this game on my Switch because I like roguelikes and all the aesthetics of the game appeal to me. One thing I did not expect was HOW HARD THIS GAME CAN BE!!! Don't get me wrong: I love it (even though Styxcoin can be frustrating). But Jacob makes it look so easy! He isn't just hyping himself up when he calls himself a gamer
i (unfortunately) don’t live there anymore but if you’re looking for a place that has a lot of outdoorsy stuff to check out while being in an awesome city with lots to do, you can’t do much better than Seattle in the US. it’s the best of both worlds imo and i really want to move back myself
i hate seeing people with cool piercings cause it makes me want to get my ears pierced but i shouldn't get them pierced cause last time the earrings were too heavy for my weak ass ears and they tore through the lobe so now i have scar tissue there
I bought this game for myself while it was on sale in the Switch shop the other day and immediately as I started playing it I just kept thinking to myself "the SSS bois would love this... I should recc it to them," completely ignoring the fact that I got a notification when this was uploaded (almost six months ago)...
Oregon seems really rad from the outside (and yo, it is INCREDIBLY beautiful) but you get here and realize that it is largely meth, neo-nazis, a rapidly rising cost of living driven by the tech bros who were too insufferable to make it in Silicon Valley, and trust fund Democrats who think the area is their personal playground being bullied by the craziest most violent republicans anywhere in the country. Don't get me wrong, I live in Portland and it is much better than where I came from in Indiana, but also this place kinda sucks. Poverty and homelessness are rampant with little to no political will to do anything about it, and our education system is one of the worst in the country. Also we have the worst drivers I have ever seen, as someone who has lived in 4 different countries.
I just took a course on project management, and I don't remember anything about sending unpaid interns down into a dungeon. Maybe it'll be in the next edition of the textbook? Also, as far as I can tell, Marv doesn't seem to be running any kind of actual project.
