I gotta tell ya man, I’m 32 years old and I’ve struggled with addiction and alcoholism my either teenage and adult life. My mom passed in a car accident in 2011 and this song really hits my soul.. I’m 5 years clean and sober now and every time I hear this song it gives me chills.. I truly appreciate the lyrics, it’s a nice reminder. Sometimes we forget where we’ve been in our lives after things have been smooth for so long.

Alcohol had such a hard hold on my life, I never viewed myself as an alcoholic because I would go days in between drinking, until it took over my life and the best thing I done was give it up and give my life to God, it wasn’t easy, and it’s not the road most 25 year olds around me are going down. But the bottle never filled the emptiness that I was desperately looking to fill. I’m so thankful God gave me the strength and came down and saved me from myself. It’s been hard, but almost one year sober ❤💜

I use to be an addict. I have 6 years clean. Its hard to do at first and the first 2 years it is a struggle everyday to stay clean but you can do it. After you hit year 3 you do not even think about it anymore and it is a breeze.

Been sober 14 yrs struggle is still there sometimes but it's worth the fight . I've lost so many friends to oding and all I can think is that could have been me if I didn't get help . Thank God for everyday I have sober .

I knew when he died my son would lose it but I never knew what it was going to be this bad. He checked out and all we can do is pray that he checks back in before he overdoses and he can't be helped

I LOVE this song, because it is so true!! addictions are from the devil and Jesus will free you from the devil and his bondage. I lived as a drug addict and alcoholic for 25 years until the chains were broken. My heart was completely broken, and it wasn't until I hit rock bottom that I had to reach up and ask for help. The only way I have made it to here is my belief in Christ, prayer and fasting(fasting drugs and alcohol).. Now I am 10 months completley sober, and grateful to be alive and not have to live in my addictions anymore. This guy makes so much sense to me , I always thought how could I work for the lord in a way I could reach people . I had times I'd walk the street just talking to people even while drowning in my own addiction to help them with saving their soul . I have a guitar hanging on my dads wall and won't touch it due to my own addiction , by learning that this guy is out their saying everything I ever wanted to say to help others in there dark days brought my mind to think ... seek rehab and do it now ! I am currently in rehab as I type this message . I hear that Voice within me ..., pick up that guitar and step up to the plate..., saving your soul is saving it on your own in a sense but , seek the higher power as the word tells us . I will take that rusty guitar stringed thing down off that wall and reach out just as Jacob has reached out to me with his songs . My heart is set on this , never give up hope there is something out there for all of us , it may take time and this was my something out there !

I'm in the same boat as some of you life is difficult and we all struggle but there is hope and light as long as we believe in ourselves we can do it ! I'm proud of you for trying and fighting the fight.

I just turned 21 and about three years ago I lost my great grandfather at the age of 18 and he would have been 90... I spent the last 2 or 3 months taking care of him and I left for a few days and I get a call from my grandma saying papa is in the hospital and right then I knew it was his time to go... and I had every chance to go see him one last time and I didnt he past away that night.. and then the alcohol took over I have done my best to keep it at bay but the past few months have been the worst... and I feel as if it is my fault bc the last words i told him was I'll see you later. I failed him as a grandson...and I blame my self everyday for his pasting..

Artist like you, Luke Combs, Sturgill Simpson, and Chris Stapleton as a solo recording artist for the 1st time are just leading the way for the genre to come full circle and back to it's roots. lost my father on the 3rd of Jan, 2023. in hospital and passed in his sleep. little over a year before, i left our small country town for the city, went into a mental health ward for 8 months, then transferred to an alcohol and other drug house for another 6 months. long story short, relapsed pretty hard, ended up on the streets again, but him passing has really pushed me to fix myself, if not for myself for him.

Im 18 years sober after drinking every day and doing speed to drink even more. AA helped me. Today Im free, dont even wanna drink.

2 years 3 months sober. Started drinking at age 12 now I am 50. I have Liver Failure and waiting for a transplant. I know our lord savior has a plan for me through all the pain.

Im 36 now. Opiates/Heroin took from 20-30 from me, 6 rehabs, $200-$300 a day just to get up. Been sober 6 years. And sh$t its great. But its always that devil u gotta fight on your shoulder. Best thing i did was move away from where i was from. And never want that life. So anyone struggling. It is the worst ever i kno believe me, but if u got fight and some wanna do good in you. Go through it.

With God all things are possible. Have to walk away from the familiar places and let God get into those places that are hidden. I myself have been sober going 3 months now and I couldn't do it without God. I've had to really dig my heels deep lean on God read my bible and pray . it sometimes can get tough the fight comes on stronger but that tells me I'm doing good and I am to keep it up.. I have no support I don't have nobody behind me rooting me on its Just me n God he's my cheerleader he's my friend he's what is helping me counting my days of progress .. I just felt to share some of my testimony we all have a story to be heard and hearing this song half way through just felt to open it.. I like this dude. the first time I ever heard him was when he got married and sang for his wife. it was good he sang "I do" and from then he has progressed finding his vocals and finding his sound more and more to finding himself into the music world. Like he's not singing on the style of anyone anymore he's fabricating lyrics and vocals in his own way. I think he is good. he stays in key, he knows how to get people to keep listening, and he makes good decisions vocally while singing. if someone that had just a decent label for him, I think he'd be on stations tomorrow.
