Nobody gives Michael Giacchino enough credit for his incredible score in Lost. The Jacob string couplet theme is so evocative and powerful that even all these years later it evokes such powerful emotion within me.
“Guess it just needed a little push.” Crazy how that has meaning on three levels: 1. The candy bar 2. Jack’s dad during the surgery 3. Jacob trying to eventually get Jack to the island Amazing scene!
John terry plays Christian so well that you could read him as a tragic sympathetic flawed man who means well even though he makes mistakes. Or as an arrogant, callous, self absorbed, emotionally abusive petty man than first tries to get emotional satisfaction by reminding his son he’ll never be as great as himself, then when his son proves himself better, both ethically and technically, he drowns himself in booze.
Somehow, I get the feeling Christian Shephard is like the Tywin Lannister of Lost. Man seems backwards and off-putting towards his progeny, but he ultimately means well.
Great actors both of them, but Christian is perfect. When he says "did I..." and it's like "ffs you miserable negative bastard we just recovered flawlessly from a very big oopsie and saved a life in the process and you're telling me you're insecure about not being the alpha"
It feels a lil rude that jack doesn't even thank him. If a stranger gives back something with what he could have easily go away, the least you can do is you thank him.
@@djnicksedits5525exactly. Infact I’d say Jack looking Jacob in the eye, holding the look for a sec and smiling while nodding…. Is more meaningful than than him grunting “thank you” as he takes the chocolate with a frown on his face, probably not even looking Jacob in the eye, would be.
"You put me in a time-out during my first major procedure, in front of my entire team. Dad, I know you don't believe in me, but I need them to." Hey, you so-called Man of Science, you got a little Locke on you. 😜
Hate how they didn't try to make Jack look even a bit young for this scene, like giving him that wig of hair they had him wearing in other episodes or making his wrinkles go away. It's okay that you can't really help it with TV shows that the actors age and might not look the part in some flashback episode, but they tried zero to avoid that in this scene.
Mother killed their real mama and lied to him just to keep him on the island, Jacob throws MIB into light making him worse than dying, MIB kills people left and right.. they were just an evil family their real mother seemed good
Hey guys can anybody help me with the soundtracks. I love the soundtrack of Jack and i would appreciate if someone could help me over here. The soundtrack is also in this video when Jack starts to count....pls someone help
House OfDNY I dont know how i forgot about that ageless thing, but richard did have to wish for it (even without explicitly saying it). The bar pushing thing has a chance of working, though a bit 50-50.
guys-you guys.. "the touch" is just literature way of saying Jacob was "involved" in all of their lives. He doesn't actually have actual powers. The Island on the other hand.. I can't really say about how it works.
There’s a chance Jacob touched Jack’s wife when she was in the hospital..that’s why she started walking again even though her surgery wasn’t successful
Just because Jack was an adult when Jacob made him a candidate doesn’t mean to me that he had less confidence in Jack, Locke, sayid or Hurley. Maybe he selects them and touches them separately. Maybe he touches them at the right moment to ensure they get to the island on schedule.
The thing about Lost that makes no sense to me is why everyone only ever eats one type of candy bar. It’s a common thing in many tv shows that I’ve called “The Duff problem”
