For me, the greatest show ever. And this scene. My God, I remember when this came out and I was glued to my seat and sweating like crazy. I was waiting that "Jacob reveal" from S3, the first time they ever mentioned the name "Jacob".
I think so. So that when ships arrive he has some ideas to pass onto them if they're hungry. He does all the tryouts for creation to pick up and take it forward methinks
Same with all the weaving and thread making. Just to have a creative hobby. Imagine being immortal, what do you do in life without a hobby or something fun and nice to do?
"It only ends once. Everything that happens before that is just progress." Most epic reveal ever of the two most mysterious characters of the show. I wish all of Season 6 was about their flashbacks growing up on the island, coming up with the rules, playing games as different groups of people landed on the island- all building up to the finale.
Notoce how the music went from single violin/harp for jacob to full orchestra at 1:16 for smokey. Almost as if to imply that business has just picked up and something crazy is gonna happen
The shot with foot at 0:07 was stopped so much back in the day you wouldn't believe. People were counting fingers and trying to tie it into the four legged statue. Shit was wild
Hurley: who are you dude Jacob: I’m just up here on the corner. (Later when Jacob appears to Hurley in 6x01) Jacob: hello Hurley: hey, just up here on the corner, what are you doing here?
John terry plays Christian so well that you could read him as a tragic sympathetic flawed man who means well even though he makes mistakes. Or as an arrogant, callous, self absorbed, emotionally abusive petty man than first tries to get emotional satisfaction by reminding his son he’ll never be as great as himself, then when his son proves himself better, both ethically and technically, he drowns himself in booze.
The thing about Lost that makes no sense to me is why everyone only ever eats one type of candy bar. It’s a common thing in many tv shows that I’ve called “The Duff problem”
Just because Jack was an adult when Jacob made him a candidate doesn’t mean to me that he had less confidence in Jack, Locke, sayid or Hurley. Maybe he selects them and touches them separately. Maybe he touches them at the right moment to ensure they get to the island on schedule.
Somehow, I get the feeling Christian Shephard is like the Tywin Lannister of Lost. Man seems backwards and off-putting towards his progeny, but he ultimately means well.
@@TokyoXtreme He already tried to use Richard to kill him but it didn't work and that was during the time of the galleon ships. Would need a lot of convincing to make someone kill him.
@@TokyoXtremehe had to find the right candidate who was desperate enough to want the same thing he did many people back then when they landed on the island they never had the desire to leave, they just settled, it was easy to move on, in modern world here now it provides comfort and people dont want to hunt their own food so boom leaves them no choice but to want to desperately leave. 😂
Great actors both of them, but Christian is perfect. When he says "did I..." and it's like "ffs you miserable negative bastard we just recovered flawlessly from a very big oopsie and saved a life in the process and you're telling me you're insecure about not being the alpha"
This was when you realized the showrunners just said fuck everything else we set up, we are gonna do purgatory, not purgatory, kinda purgatory finish…. 😂
Jacob wanted Jack to beat the smoke monster but he wanted Hurley to be the guardian for the island during peacetime. I’m sure Hurley brought the people society rejected to the island to live in peace and safety.
What about it? Egyptians found the island and realized it had strong reproductive powers so they built a statue of the tawret the Egyptian god of fertility.
In one of the videos on the Lost Explained channel, he discusses how Egyptians were likely among the first to find the island. One clue being that the "exit" for the island is in Tunisia seems to indicate that the island was at one point, or maybe even originated, in the Mediterranean. Jacob and the Man in Black also appear to be Roman in origin.
They arent good vs evil... IMO its optimism vs negativity. Light vs Darkness. They cant exist properly without the other and are always destined to clash and coexist in some way
I wish ppl understood the show... jscob gets such a bad wrap. Its all cuz u bit the devils appl. Jack is the bad guy as well... btw sawyer is epitomy of living life to your full extent no matter what the devul hands you.. Jack... gets tricked in the bible .. to rescue her by saving everyone. By the devil. Ppl rly didnt understsnd the shows meaning. I can argue with you for years jsck saved no one. Besides his own mind.
"You put me in a time-out during my first major procedure, in front of my entire team. Dad, I know you don't believe in me, but I need them to." Hey, you so-called Man of Science, you got a little Locke on you. 😜
