His explanation was good enough for me, had he gone any further frying to explain any further, he would have ended up offending some people in his former home (EFF), which is unnecessary in my book. In fact I commend him for showing maturity.
I think he doesn't want to distroy the EFF, he probably had a fall out with Malema not the EFF. Also they still need EFF in the progressive parties maybe him explaining his real reason Malema will have an episode and will risk them working together
Floyd is a no starter and a follower who tag along great leader like Zuma and Malema to further his career. No threat whatsoever to the EFF. The painful thing is betrayal but No Value Added Talent (VAT) lost.
They will never work together because it is not about working together but rather about unifying and Malema will never play the second fiddle in a party.
Well said Jamie I hope Floyd Will end watching this. I wish these Young politicians will have advisers as they take these critical decisions. Transparency is important as they claim that they are loyal to the revolution struggle.
@@Intothelight1981I also fail to understand this kind of working together while stabbing each other like this. We still feel betrayed. But any way it's his choice. Clueless🤷❓ meaning you're also not listening.
Not necessarily. The GNU is still the unifying force for the Progressive Caucus. The ANC is owned by Helen and progressive & serious thinkers will not support that.
@@TSG0195 if you listened carefully Floyd revealed that they had a meeting with Zuma prior to his announcement on the 16th of December in which they discussed uniting the black political organisations. It is however ironic that Malema as an advocate for African unity isn't playing ball when it comes to the unity of the black political organisations in South Africa hence he feels betrayed by Floyd Shivambu. The animosity and backlash aimed at Floyd by the EFF and it's leader leaves alot to be desired as it detrimental to the much needed unity of the majority voters.
FLOYD is on point, he will explain himself when the time is right, today was his first day in office with his new BOSSES/ COMRADES during the press conference laying his thoughts about the most important things regarding restructuring of the PARTY, MK 🇿🇦✌🏾 should ditch the vote rigging story and mobilize itself for "2026." GOD PLEASE BLESS MKP🇿🇦✊🏾
@@nthabibotsi9855Be specific my sister, why you mention KZN while mkp said national organiser. You mean KZN is a country it self or you are one of the hates of Zuma and the whole mkp members.
Floyd together with the MKP cannot defame the EFF and Malema. Floyd got fame and influence from Malema. The ANC never fired Floyd but he followed Malema like a sidekick seeking connections and legitimacy. Betrayal is betrayal. He discredited every credibility, justification and explanation he could give by joining the MKP and Zuma. Floyd is a follower benefiting from charismatic and talented leaders not a leader. First it was Malema and now Zuma. Can you see the pattern. Zuma doesn't need him but need EFF secrecies, strategies and intelligence gathered over the years. Floyd is a no starter.
Although its democratically plausible to leave another party for another, I feel your analysis nailed it. Shivambu will not be trusted, maybe valued by MK for now but not for long
The current situation presents a challenge, as openly criticizing the EFF is not a viable option. It's crucial for them to maintain a close working relationship with the EFF amid these circumstances.
@@tshidiso9653bought him to be a national organizer?? From being a debut president?? Floyd is smart for him to go from a deputy to a national organizer.. they talked with Zuma and he told him what he needs from him.. I don't think money was exchanged
He is perfect to talk about himself and his future goals and ambitions! Also people like you are trying to make a division between MKP and EFF but we are following both parties as a progressive caucus to liberate a black man in his/her continent
I like when Zuma called the puppet journalists out. It's tiring to see them become puppets who cannot even think for themselves anymore. It's a pandemic now. Thank God for the podcasts.
But Jamie, if Shivambu was to explain why the EFF is no longer the suitable vehicle for him then he will be seen as de-campaigning the EFF and that will negatively affect progressive the alliance relationship.
In my opinion, Floyd did give maybe one of the reasons as to why he eventually decided to leave EFF when he said there is no dictatorship in the MKP but political discussions. For me, that was a good enough explanation.
Jamie, I trust that Floyd will also explain his change of mind concerning Jacob Zuma and his 'pay back the money' objection in the past. Has he moved on his objection because he is possibly in a similar position with regards the VBS problem?
I think everyone is, should and will be MK. We can speak with one voice. Also, Floyd literally explained a whole lot - although not at length. Don't tell me you missed that. Lol! He moved cause ego, growth (unity) and the revolution. 🤷🏽
1. Let the MKP prove to the country that the elections were rigged. We can't exalt the IEC to a position beyond reproach, that would be embracing dogma in a sense. However this must not impede their political programme. 2. I believe with time Floyd will provide details regarding his political move, maybe the temperature is not right at the moment. Floyd strikes me as someone who wants to keep politics of the progressive front intact and his approach is such that he will avoid fueling any conflict between progressive forces. 3. I think or even hope that Floyd will endenger the culture of "scientific politics" in the MKP and exonerate the party from accusations against it of being established on Zulu nationalist ideals and a traditionalist/monarchist approach to its politics.
Well, I think the MK has a silly Secretary general... They should have made Floyd the secretary General and brought the responsibilities of the National organizer under the SG office
@@donaldchikudo1521 This is MK is a bunch of criminals....Nothing to be proud of..... Jacob Zuma - Arms Deal: accepted bribes of R4 million in a R30 billion arms procurement deal. - Nkandla Scandal: Misappropriated R246 million of public funds for personal home upgrades. - State Capture: corruption involving billions of rand siphoned from state-owned enterprises. - Contempt of Court: Sentenced to 15 months in prison for contempt before the Zondo Commission. Lucky Montana - corrupt contracts worth billions of rand, including the R3.5 billion purchase of bogus trains for Prasa. Siyabonga Gama - Involved in a R54 billion Transnet locomotive procurement scandal, and contract manipulation and kickbacks. Brian Molefe - state capture at Eskom, with corruption involving over R1.6 billion in irregular contracts with Gupta-linked companies. Floyd Shivambu - received R16 million from looted VBS Mutual Bank funds through his brother’s company. Duduzile Zuma - Accused of inciting violence during the 2021 unrest, which caused over R50 billion in economic damage. John Hlophe - impeached for accepting bribes totaling an R5 million to influence judge rulings. 1st it wasn't the right platform for Floyd's detailed explanation, it would have taken away from the moment of the MK announcement, 2ndly accepting that the MKP still has to collaborate with the EFF in parliament it wouldn't have been prudent to rubbish and expose the EFF what its issues were by the former DP. You'd have realised that PresJZ also avoided answering whether Floyd's move was discussed with Juju as this would have solicited why not and what this means for the relations of the two parties. 3rdly, we can assume that the HOT open borders policy of the EFF which the MKP doesn't support is one of the reason of his move albeit he wouldn't have mentioned in public as I believe it's the main reason behind the regression of the voter support for the EFF and Juju is intransigent on maintaining this policy possibly stagnating the future growth prospects of the EFF which Floyd didn't want to waste his contribution on... 4thly, I support the Communist Party getting out under the cover of the neo-liberals and must start showing their mettle, they've practiced enough.
You're actually making a good point Jamie that Flyod meed to take us into his confidence about why he decided that the EFF was no longer the right revolution and ideological vehicle for the progressive and black emancipation project. Hopefully he will put pen to paper somewhere and let us in his confidence with regards this.
His statement does not hang on how the EFF receives it…his explanation was sufficient…sometimes holding your cards close to your chest is a strategy within itself…these are politicians at the end of the day.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT FLOYD IS THAT,HE DIDN'T BETRAY JULIUS BY OPENING A NEW,BUT INSTEAD HE WENT TO A NEW PARTY WHICH NEEDS HIS SKILLS TO BUILD NEW STRUCTURE TO UNITE BLACK PEOPLE IN GENERATIONAL MISSION OF REVOLUTION.HE LEF WITHOUT FACE ANGER RUDE OR OTHERWISE,BUT PROFFESSIONAL.
I think he knows his limitations in mobilising numbers, he's smart but not charismatic enough to create a party as the main man and have people follow him
In hindsight, it seems keeping MKP out of government was actually for the best thing for its long term survival and credibility as a party ready to governe and provide a stable government. As we know at the start of this government MKp was still too unstable and it would have been not good for the cracks we see now with people pulled out from parliament to have happened with them now pulling out members of government.
12:12 Yep agreed. Especially because Floyd explicitly said that he "won't be discussing gossip [on why he left EFF]" and that "he will only ever discuss politics and ideology".
His clearly said is been servant of the revolution those ppl he mentioned Sara ,eskom etc they were unfairly dismissed bcos they didn't want to be pupet for those organization called themself or revolution but behind the scene sometging else . We need ppl like Floyd ppl which knows what they fighting for
No need to fast forward leader. This is youtube, you can have the video as long as you can go, ofcourse just ensuring that is a good and capting content.
Let's unite all the political progressives forces and build the solid movement that can take us forward. If that can happen in this lifetime, then the next generation will be liberated ♥️♥️💯💯💯🇿🇦💪💪🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Your analysis of Shivambu might need reconsideration. As a seasoned politician, he likely sees this as an opportunity, particularly with Zuma's presence. The reasons behind his departure could potentially disrupt the progressive caucus, making it unwise to bring up, especially if it stems from a personal issue that could become messy and distract from the caucus's main agenda. However, I do believe that Shivambu will address the matter when the timing is appropriate. Such information is often held back for a strategic moment, perhaps closer to the elections or when it can be used to gain political leverage. Revealing such details is rarely done without a significant purpose, especially in the case of Jacob Zuma, who is known for withholding commentary on certain issues until it becomes crucial.
Floyd strategicaly indicated his reasons. He need a platform that gives him freedom to express himself. He wants to be led by the collective. He is tired of dictatorship. He tried by all means to avoid confrontation with Malem/EFF.
..."Et Tu Bruté"...??? Emperor Julius Ceasar Malema draped in the "Rainbow 🌈 flag" has been assassinated by his closet ally, his closest mate, Floyd Chimanavo
What surprises me and it's somehow logic - will a person with good intentions take money and upgrade his status without helping those around him whom he so adequately claim to fight for their freedom - What will make him to see to your needs and asperation-
I think Floyd has made it clearer why he left EFF. He said MKP has the best of black people, people who can govern complex institutions. I understand that to mean the EFF is lacking there compared to MKP. Julius also mentioned this last election that he wants to bring professionals into the EFF, which could suggest that he also wants more skilled members because there's a lack.
There’s no gap, he was clear & coherent. He doesn’t need to say the self evident. Julius put it plainly, anything that reminds them of the DP will be removed. He lobbied the EFF in October to work with Zuma & failed to persuade the dictatorship. He tried again after the elections & Julius said the progressive caucus is for Parliament only. You should’ve juxtaposed their statements & the gaps would fill themselves!
The explanation by Floyd was more than adequate, and didn't have to give details of his move. There's totally no need for him to say anything more than what he said, and thats maturity he didn't act like a teenager. We don't need to know more than what hetold us lets learn to stay in our lanes and accept other people's views.
Remember that talking much only empowers the other parties, especially where he's coming from. With Jesus, He has none who can withstand/fight/stop Him. This is like a game, where any of your moves mustn't be known to your contenders, making his current party outshine all.
On the reason why he left EFF, he explained that when they have discussions on anything with Zuma, he would listen. That for me answers that he left EFF because Malema is running a cult. He is a dictator. In more fewer words instead of bashing Malema
Mr Zuma says he picked up Floyd from youth league, but he doesn't disclose who made Shivambo that strong, scientific and what did he do to Floyd when he was an ANC and National president to ensure if he ok picked up those values 😮
Thank you Jamie, always love your insight, sibanga vote rigging 😂😂, to be honest I do think the votes were rigged but I don't really care about the case at this point am sure the courts will forever drag the case so I think we must focus on building the party and waking up our people on the ground. I also wish Malema can calm down and stop fighting Floyd and focus on regaining strength. MK and EFF are the future so they need to 100 % focused
