James Spader gives the best interviews. I love how he takes his time telling the story. He is an awesome storyteller and person. Wish the interview was much much longer.
Good God, actually Jimmy showed a lot of restraint during the interview imo...they just uploaded the most entertaining/up beat part and it was mostly b/c of Jimmy. After this part he didn't interrupt him at all and it took him another 2+min to say he was a waiter...I watched the show live and tuned out after this part due to boredom.
Voicu Violeta I watched the entire thing too. All talk show hosts interrupt but to me Jimmy does it all the time. Very annoying to me, so much so I often turn the channel.
No wonder he said going to JFK Jr's apartment was an oasis. He went to NYC at 17 with $100 in his pocket and mostly ate fried egg sandwiches for meals (according to an interview many years ago). He didn't come from money, he just happened to be a scholarship student at a very elite school.
maybe I generalize but rich/powerful people/families from Western society e.g. US are somehow relatable and friendly. James was nothing back then, and he hung out with John, and was invited to the Kennedy mansion to have dinner. Jackie even gave him a job. From where I came from, rich people even less than the Kennedy level wouldn't even look at people like James.
I met James Spader here where he was making the movie, Sex Lies and Video Tape. He is the nicest and most friendly man I think I ever met. Just beautiful in and out.
James really was close with John K. & The Onassis family, hence his love of all things Greek. So I imagine he must have went to Jackie O's funeral and felt utterly horrible when John John passed away. I know I did, and he was his buddy. He's such an Amazing Man who seems to have no idea how sexy he and that voice of his actually is. And I love his laugh @2:05. Too Adorable!! ❤ *Love You Jamesy!* ❤
Everyone says that his voice gives them chills. I will admit he does have quite a unique way of speaking and delivering lines (I find it kind of sexy actually). However even though I'm a huge #TheBlacklist fan now, I first saw him as Alan Shore on #BostonLegal. He was a funny, yet intelligent ladies man on that show. A true treat! Therefore I don't think James Spader will ever scare me. Not as Raymond "Red" Reddington or even as Ultron!
SH S OOH, can you just IMAGINE him playing that part in the movie? It would have raked in several hundred million had he played the starring role. Instead, it was deadpanned!
Just two days ago I watched an episode of the blacklist where red mentioned humphrey bogart. And now james spader does it as well, awesome to see these little inputs james is giving to the show
If James Spader would read me a telephone book I would listen to him for hours. I would listen to him no matter what he would be saying. He is fucking amazing.
Poor young James Spader. moved to New York hardly knowing anybody...except John F. Kennedy jun. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. come on, how hard could it be.
In the late 70s or now? Both are tough because you need a place to sleep, a place to clean yourself, a way to get presentable for job interviews, and food to eat. No internet back then either, so you had to carry change for phones and couldn't get texts. The weed probably helped though.
Anner Chisline Spader was trying to make it on his own in NY but he had no worries. He came from money, hence being a classmate of John Kennedy. Unless you assume JK went to a local public school which would make you really out of touch with reality.
+tootz1950 Wrong, Spader did not come from money. He was a scholarship student at Phillips Andover Academy. His parents were private school teachers, and he grew up in faculty housing at Brooks Academy where his father taught. He went to NYC with a hundred bucks in his pocket, and slept on the floor in his older sister's apartment because it was already housing a bunch of other people. He worked many odd jobs while trying to make it as an actor.
not a fan of fallon as a host but for some reason, so far when it comes to Spader's interviews, I've only seen him this candid and laughing with Fallon
James Spader is the Bomb,if u haven't watched "Blacklist" u have no clue what u r missing. This show,to me,tops ALL the other Crime Drama Shows. Check him out in "Tuff Turf". It's a great movie dealing with a Very important topic of being a BULLY.
Ok..... why is it that is the end of the conversation......Are these clips meant to be lousy examples of his segment or what. They are pretty worthless, hardly all of what he has to say.
They actually uploaded the most entertaining/up beat part of the interview & it was a good deal b/c of Jimmy. Spader has this slow, monotone & long way of talking till making a point & 1 story took a very long time in ''talk show time'' - he even noticed himself at some point. YT viewer's attention span is not high, so they upload snips of interviews. They usually discuss ~3 topics in an interview and they cut the interviews by topic...I guess they couldn't cut this interview better... This channel is used as a means of advertising the Tonight Show, a way for ppl to sample the show and it's ultimate goal is to entice young ppl to watch the show on TV. Next 2min of the interview: JKO got him a job as a waiter & he spilled water on a group he was waiting: www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/113821
Funny how many famous people happened to know other famous people. Babysitters, friends or whatever. Its almost like if you don't have those random connections, you are SOL.
I am a child of the 80s and JAMES SPADER really was a HAWT STUD back in the day but he has NOT aged well. However, NO MAN was ever better looking than JOHN F. KENNEDY Jr. I cried the entire weekend when he died and made a pilgrimage at New Year's to be in Times Square for the Millenium New Year of 1999 and also to see where he lived downtown on Varick Street. Got my pic taken in front of the bldg. Still miss him.
Just seeing this now and the other Spader/Kennedy videos. I had heard he knew John-John but now this confirms to me he is a white hat and the blacklist IS part of the program.
I like James Spader, but I must observe: you can't say you have "no prospects" and then two minutes later talk about your best friend Kennedy Jr and visiting his mom Jackie O. It's not what you know.... you know?
