I know you did this review 4 months ago but I just got my Chun-Li today. This line really is fantastic and imho there blowing the likes of Hasbro out of the water. I’m not about to compare them to SHF or Storm. That’s not fair.. but I have no problem comparing them to ML/DCMV/etc. it’s gonna be real cool to see these grow and how better and better they get. All 3 of these figures (I have Ken in PO at BBTS) are just absolute bangers.
Just got mine yesterday. The paint is a little sloppy in places, but hopefully that will improve for subsequent releases. Otherwise, an excellent figure. I'm not gonna collect them all, but I plan to get Dhalsim, Cammy, Honda, Blanka and Vega.
7 months later after this video, I found her at my Target here in Kansas😂. But I noticed something: on the back of my box, it only shows Chun Li and not Ryu and FEI Long...on the side, instead of just English, it is translated into 2 other languages. Can't wait to have some free time and mess around with this figure❤
In the future when Juhn from Jada Toys returns, can someone please ask him if Jada will consider the Nintendo and Super Mario Bros license? The recent Super Mario Bros movie featured many examples of what can translate to super articulated figures (Princess Peach, Donkey Kong). Great channel to watch.
I'm so glad I passed on the Playmates one packed in with a ninja turtle. This Jada Chun Li is better than all of them! Even better looking overall than the sh figuarts. Which has a ridiculous resell price, now! (That Sota one looks like trash! Did time/aging change its' shape or look?)
She is such a good figure I hope they do an after-shower version of her for SDCC with the yellow sweater so we can recreate that fight from the animated movie. And to the pervs, I said AFTER the shower, not in the shower.
Great figure. The two I found in Targets were a mess paint-wise. Sloppy yellow, not enough yellow, dark spots on the blue, dirt or debris in the skin-tone plastic on the face and arm.
@Andres-vv7xj I hear you. It's definitely a different style. I think Jada looks great and wins hands down on price. I think SHF has better paint apps and shading on the outfit and especially on the legs, as well as better articulation and can balance way better on kicking poses even with effects attached to the feet without the assistance of a stand. SHF also has better accessories. Jada Ryu, however, may have the win over SHF Ryu but it's very close.
I got both. Yes, SHF is more refined. I look at them as more like a model figure alongside Mafex and Mezco. Jada for me is more as a pocket figure to pose around and not worry about destroying it.
I noticed they mentioned potential accessory packs later on. That's a cool idea but personally I'd prefer to pay a little bit extra and get all of the effects parts in the regular package. Also, I've noticed whenever anybody interviews nobody ever asks Juhn if they have plans for alt character colors like Storm Collectibles have been doing? I still want my High Punch Light Blue Ryu Main.
i think they’ll make the light blue version of ryu since evil ryu is so close to champion edition colors. i could be very wrong. i do love the turbo ryu colorway, and i hope they do make him.
@@Spongemonkey26 And to add to that, I'm pretty sure he said he wanted to complete the whole Ultra SF2 roster before he did "player 2" alt colors. I think. Maybe he said that something else had to wait until he finished the main cast. I'm definitely getting default color Guile. But, I also really want the blue tank top (wife beater) and blue/purple/teal? scale camo pants alt colors that I used play with back in the day! (I'm a bit color blind but, I'm pretty sure someone confirmed to me the tank top was blue. The pants, however, I'm just giving my best guess.)
@@Spongemonkey26 I don't remember the original player 2 for Guile. If that's what we get first, I'll pass. That doesn't sound that different from default. I hope they do the blue tank top one I mentioned before, at some point. I just know as for alt colors, when I figured out Street Fighter 2 Turbo (SNES) had alt colors that could be chosen by which button(s) I press, and some testing, that I discovered the palette swap I mentioned previously. And it became my favorite.
I got mine today... I agree. The neutral head is a bit off, I think either the eyes are too big or her face is too short. The angry head is better and looks more like her though.
I have the SHF version.. I like Jada’s better over all. SHF can have better paint and they can pose a little better but the SHF face ruins it for me. This Chun-Li is pretty fantastic.. especially when you compare it to Marvel Legends and whatnot. IMHO they blow Hasbro out of the water with portability and accessories.
SH figures looks way superior than Jada in terms of design (yet not perfect). The other Chun Li figures there are plain ugly. Jada's need better (and more) facial expressions
The SH figure moves and poses great, and I'll give you the better design, but I wouldn't say way superior, especially when you consider the difference in price point. Also the SH figure clothes look too shiny (plastically) and the face looks too anime style for me. This Jada Toys figure delivers great value. They just need to improve the faces, which aren't too bad but are their weak point, and improve quality control.
@@GameTime-yj6qv well I would not buy either, but face is the more important point in a figure, anime style or not, SH figure is better. Btw, I don't like art style of latest SF in special Chun deserves better
Yeah I don't get the big fascination with toe joints that some reviewers have. Usually toy joints are a hindrance. In my opinion only a very select number of figures should have toe joints, like Spiderman.
