I went with a friend to see them at The Country Club in Reseda. My friend knew Sylvia Cei's brother or something, I forget, but we all went together. It was about '88 or so. JL were the first band up on a triple bill, followed by Shark Island and headliners Keel. This was right after Mark Ferrari left Keel. Sylvia totally blew the other guitarists off the stage that night. She was one of the best players on the scene in those days, and it was the most competitive guitar scene in the world at the time. I should know. I was a shredder too in that scene.
How long is it going to take before someone remasters these tapes, and videos and puts out a DVD, CD combo with 'Jaded lady,' and 'Leather Angel?' Come on--someone like 'New Renaissance Records,' should do it. Has anyone asked the question? Are they all still around, (members alive and well) and do they ever plan to have any reunion concerts?
What about Tantrum? it's almost impossible to find anything at all about them now...but "back in the day" they were a great all girl metal band playing the Hollywood / L.A. scene.
I think this is the showcase room at Om Rock Studios in La Puente. A couple of my bands rehearsed and performed there in the late 80's and early 90's. It was owned by Bryant Markovich, the drummer from Swift Kick.
