Damn, how have I never heard these guys 'till now; I'm enjoying the hell out of this. So much prog is just a vehicle bands use to show off their chops (don't get me wrong, I love chops, but the music should come first), and neo-prog is so often soft prog for the muzak crowd . . . It's nice to hear melodic prog with strong writing and musicianship going hand in hand. Great dynamics and vocal harmonies. Tight and professional. I've already added more of their stuff to my Watch Later list. Hopefully the next on the queue won't disappoint. Thanks for the upload. RU-vid's still my go to for finding new music, thanks to people who upload stuff like this. Props to y'all.
1. The Great Outside 2. Where In The World 3. Alive Inside 4. Take These Words 5. Yourself Alone 6. Daylight Fades 7. More Than Meets The Eye 8. In Isolation 9. The Beginning And The End 10. Sleepwalk Состав: Gary Chandler - guitar, vocals Steve Christey - drums John Jowitt - bass Martin Orford - keyboards, backing vocals, flute
Instrumental parts remind me sometimes of IQ. A better, more distinctive vocalist really is the missing ingredient: the vocals now are "not bad", but with so much competition around, that is just not good enough. Marillion, Pendragon, IQ, Pallas etc have / had very reckognizabl vocalists, Jadis misses this for the moment being. Love the instrumental efforts of the whole band though, especially the bumblebee-bass :0)
It´s not about competition, you are very simple. Gary Chandler sings too good, evenomore playing guitar, while the singers in other bands don´t do, understand pedazo de melón? And now go and compete with your rivals in your sad office, tuercebotas.

Thanks for your comment John. I remember the Rose and crown days very well and with much nostalgia join us on Facebook if you use it as it is best way to let people know what we are up to cheers Gary
Is it true that Jadis return to the stages this year? Does it mean the return from Martin? At last I know who Steve Christie is. I know him from John Wetton LIVE IN KRAKOW. Also from 2003 and with Orford in the same dress.
Bugger. Another brilliant band I've never listened to, so that another shed load of money I shall have to spend to get all their albums. But anything with Martin Orford is going to be brilliant and the rest of the band are superb too.
