A uniquely sporty and intricate combination in this watch, JLC is very cool for exploring uncharted technical and design territory.

dunno about you guys, but to me the Amvox 2 DBS is by far the best looking Amvox watch.

Is the power reserve indicator not symmetrical on the two sides? One side looks to have a bigger gap.

Hey! I really enjoy your commentary and insights on the watch, however the video side could be better in my opinion, for several reasons. 1) You tend to move the watch around a lot, almost looks "nervous". It's quite disturbing when watching the video in full screen to get all the details 2) Linked with my first point, as I am also a very technology-oriented person: I really want to see how the different functions work, so for example please take more care on when the chrono minute disc switches and don't move around the watch at the same time. I appreciate your having a clear background and good lighting! In general I'd suggest putting the watch on a stand or something like that at least for a part of the video - or if you like spending time on editing ;-) , show detailed (still) shots of the features you are talking about. Thanks a lot for your content once again, I appreciate it very much :)

When i win a million dollars in the lottery, i'll buy a Jeager-LeCoultre Reverso. The only square watch i like, also my dream watch.

something about cross brand watches that really bothers me. do you really wanna be that guy driving an aston with this watch? i wouldn't want to sit next to him at a dinner party thats for sure. and worse would be if you had this and didnt own an aston

@felix crab I have always felt this way about not wanting to be "that guy" and then I discovered this watch. For starters, it is a JLC, not a Breitling or a Panerai. The movement was created and built by JLC. Another thing is that there is true heritage between the two brands because Jaeger made the gauges for AM in the early part of last century, so it comes back to a historical connection that the other brands don't have in their co-branding. Also note that the co-branding is basically not visible on the face of the watch, which may be a nod to the issue we are talking about. Finally, for me, I am a big time motorhead and the multitude of design elements that echo automobiles speaks to me. The crown is a centerlock hub. The power reserve goes from E to F. The front radiator grill of the the AM is replicated in the horizontal lines on the face. The fact that there are no numbers in the bottom third of the dial echos back to the original gauges on the cars. There appears to be a mini brake caliper between the 7 and 8. Finally, the ease of using the chrono is designed to make it so the driver of a car, who may be wearing gloves, can easily control it. I watched this video because I think I am going to get me one of these!

@@uptheorg yeh you know as ive finished watchmaking school now and have worked as a watchmaker few years since i commented I've somewhat softened on judging other peoples ideas of what they like. I wouldnt ever buy a JLC i think for other reasons but if you like the look of it and you find one for a good price i say why not. I imagine they have depreciated somewhat

@@felixarbable I would love to know the reasons you wouldn't buy a JLC considering you say you are now a watchmaker and, as you know, there is no shortage of love for the brand among watchonistas. Please elaborate?

@@uptheorg im sure they are mostly fine, i think its more the after sales department and restoration department that i would stear clear of unless they improved things. if you know a actually good watchmaker who will be able to do adjustments properly (endshakes, escapement adjusting etc) i think you can probably end up with a decent watch but Ive heard the quality can be variable. I also think finishing wise they leave allot to be desired but that goes for most brands tbh. to be fair they are significantly cheaper than other brands for the kind of complications you get so there is certainly value there. to tell you the truth I probably wouldnt buy anything from big brands made in the last 50 years so i wouldnt worry about what i think too much

Its names jaeger (~jaiger) le coultre not jagér!
@norsiiii
@norsiiii 9 лет назад
no it's not. jaeger was the surname of Edmond Jaeger. it was his family name, and was not pronounced the same way as the word 'jaeger'. that said, he's still pronouncing LeCoultre wrong.

You idiot! Jaeger is german not french and he spoke it like french but ist german Its a suiss company! In switzerland they speak french and german

john doe Yes, however JLC is and was since the beginning in the French-speaking part. The only company located in the German-speaking region is IWC. I agree the name should be pronounced as it is in German, not French.

@@MrBilbonio How many times were you dropped on your head as a child? Jaeger-LeCoultre is from a French-speaking region of Switzerland and was founded by two Frenchmen. It's pronounced the French way, and that's how Jaeger-LeCoultre pronounces it.
