On Congress leader P Chidambaram's remarks over new criminal laws, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar says, "...Are we part-timers in Parliament? Inexcusable insult to the wisdom of Parliament...I am shocked beyond words. Please beware of the minds who deliberately as a strategy, by way of narrative, try to run down our nation, demean our institution, taint our progress...they engage in criticism for the sake of criticism. I don't have words strong enough to condemn such kind of narratives being set afloat. An MP is being labelled part-timer...I appeal to him from this platform, please withdraw this derogatory, defamatory and highly insulting observation to MPs. I hope he does it"

The vp's objection was not just about chidambaram's remarks, but the fact that he said this after passing the bill,where chidambaram chose to not utter a word and after the bill becomes a law he is very "creatively" insulting the MPs. As you rightly said, objections should be raised when it matters.otherwise it's just "jhumla" (from their own dictionary)

Respected sir Very good advise to all parlimentarians to maintain decency and decoram of the house. This should be applicable to all parlimentarians including prime Minister and honorable speakers Of both houses. But it is most unfortunate that opposition party members have BEEN DISALLOWED TO EXPRESS THEIR VIES at the same time Ruling party leaders and members were allowed freely and not objected when they use un parliamentary words There are several instances. The house also witnessed historic examples where Ruling party members including ex PM Nehru were eagerly awaiting for Opposition leader A B Vajapayee 's speech and his advise to the house.
