Wouldnt be so fun to watch someone who doesnt engage or "overreact" it would get very boring and stale qick and the viewers would move on, thats why many can never make it as a streamer or youtuber
I like the idea of dupe protection for nightmare, I may actually consider doing it if they buff the armor/provide areas where it’s useful. As an iron I will literally never do that content as it stands now because completing those tables is too time consuming for little net gain
I mean I do appreciate that Jagex have decided that integrity changes should be unpolled, and I honestly have faith in Jagex that if something is off balance in the game, that they'll listen to feedback, I mean it's the only game where there's not only a vote poll, but also surveys asking for more specific feedback on major updates.
If they can send out one news letter and create such a price increase than I never want to hear anyone complain about bots farming and lowering prices on items 😂 they bot for months and months and only swing items by less than 10m if even. The voidwaker didn't crash due to bots..that was the Jagex nerf talks that dropped from 130m to 80m in hours 😂 now look at the maul 😅
I don’t care either way on dupe protection personally, but what does bother me is that this is what was proposed instead of a real solution to the horrendous droprates at Nightmare. Even with the buffs, it will be very niche and have very few use cases, and even with the minor droprate improvements and dupe protection it will still take longer than Torva to acquire. Why?
Cha cha... Storry abaut zammy here.. Got my spear on 227 kc. Got 2 steam staffs, and 3 shards. (steam staffs have same drop rate as spear and each shard is 7x time more rare). And I did it all with melee set up. That was hell

I like dupe protection. Could make every piece of gear worth about the same price. Such as rigour. Imagine having to get all Cox drops to get another scroll.
Leave dupe protection for people who want it, just allow mains to disable it if they want as well. Suppose it existed for virtus armor, I would not appreciate dupe protection to guarantee the next piece I get is a virtus mask when I could have rolled the body or bottoms

For the first set it makes perfect sense and it's reassuring to know about, you can still go miserably dry or crazy lucky, but the dupe protection just removes the worst part of grinding that nobody enjoys. Dupe protection is good for collection logger/ironman accounts and helps prevent gold farming/botting bosses over n over like nightmare for example but that being said it absolutely has no place being used everywhere, the game is a grind afterall. A good way to do it would be to offer dupe protection until a set is complete then just ffa from there, like nightmare orbs for example: you would recieve 1 of each type before being able to roll them randomly.
some bosses also serve more of a gp grind aswell where as places like nightmare no one is really doing for gp unless they are a bot so why not throw dupe protection on something as niche as that where it helps collection loggers/irons but doesnt mess with gp gains of mains (because they got a ton of better options if they are just after the gp)
they do become random after sets are complete thats the entire point is to lessen pointless grinds from dryness and to allow mains to get the same effect they already get while saving thousands of hours for other accounts. i dont support it, i have an iron with tbow, scythe, shadow blorva pretty much every pvm gear bc im a gamer and i was fine with my dupes and so was my main they gets them. just be a man and get the drop people are so soft these days and cant handle adversity and it shows every day more and more

dupe protection has imo indeed not an osrs feel to it. i agree with the statement shown in the video while tasty was talking about it, because the only thing gegex did wrong with the nightmare are the droprates, they're too rare. And dupe protection only makes it worse. The first proposed change in the rebalance blog, in which they said the droprates would be effectively halved, is still a good idea. Dupe protection is not. And I bet there are way more people agreeing with me/us, even ironmen.
Dupe protection should not exist period. The game was not created for ironmen. When the mode was first introduced they specifically said content would not be created or adjusted to cater to those who chose to play on a restricted account. Since then it seems like every other update was created with QoL in mind for iron accounts. It’s ridiculous tbh… They should be listening to Ash on this one. Whenever an iron asks for changes to make their life easier, he tells them to de-iron.
It might not be entirely the same, but we already had some kind of dupe protection in the game. Bludgeon pieces, Brimstone ring pieces, Fortis Colosseum armour, Armadyl piecies, and Bandos pieces (for Masori/Torva), Moons of Peril, etc. If we go on a deeper level in some games like Fishing Trawler, we have dupe protection for skilling outfits. I'm an iron player with thousand of KC at PNM. I've wasted thousands of brews there. Currently, I have 4 NM staffs, 1 Eldritch orb, and that's all (no armour pieces). This update would change nothing for me so far. On the bright side it would give me some more motivation to go there.
2 years ago none of this dupe protection bs existed except for bludgeon and brimstone ring. Also not sure what you mean armadyl and bandos, you can get dupes for both of those along with masori and torva before completing a set.
@@benjaminr8229 lmao, this game was made for "mains" and all of those things have existed a lot longer than iron meme mode. as a high level main account i think ironman mode has ruined the game a lot more... all of the drops are resource drops now because ironmen just seem to always need it easier..... But like i said this game is an MMO not a solo ironman game mode only lol. you are probably stuck at 100 cb on your iron and cant get any drops...

Spec should be guaranteed on tekton like dragon warhammer is at very least. Or make it have an effect like tbow or shadow. Amazing inside chambers or kinda like tbow it’s great against high def monster or high crush def monsters

It's quite clear they must have a lot of metric data on p2p bond players. Get those credit cards ready or prepare to sink hours into raids as the G.E inflation about to pop off.
Yeah the whole inq situation is weird. I'm an iron and I think ultimately drops should be rare enough they are rewarding but not so rare that they sap the life out of you (looking at you dwh and inquisitor) because if they're in the sweet spot it will still be rewarding to grind for a drop, it still will be a mystery which one youll get next but you wouldn't rather die than grind for an item. Perhaps look to the dt2 boss drop mechanics for vestiges? Anti dry mechanics> anti dupe mechanics.
imo, dupe protection should only be applied for items that either have an essentiality to their utility(i.e Vorkath Head), or serve as a symbol/trophy to an achievement(i.e Scroll Sack). I get that some items are insanely hard to get relative and to their usefulness, and would be kinda redundent to go for as an account progression without a dupe protection(thus making them sorta dead content). But at the same time, rarity is part of the game and also choice. If someone chose to go for a full Mystic Dusk set - sure, dupe protection would make the grind much faster and easier, but it will also make this accomplishment so much less special. The a roll of a die. The hopeful but naive assessment of a grind's length. The shining beam of bliss when getting spooned. The torturing pain of going dry. The mentally empowering commitment of "going for it, whatever it takes". The faded glimmer of hope, sometimes even after being more than 3x the drop rate, thousands of kc into the grind. Getting the drop, completing the set, greening the log. it's a jouney - both an essential part of your character's story within the micro-cosmos of this game and your mental fortitude outside of it.
When other games are completed in 100 hours you have to consider that dupe protection creates a minimum time for completion which is much better for the longevity of the game. consider this right, there are 3 mega rares at cox, and it normally takes lets be generous and say 400 kc for 1. if you do 3 raids every night after work with the homies, you're still looking at 4 months to get that drop, and you could get the wrong one. multiple times? but why would you do that when you could play and beat a whole brand new game, rather than try and get let down. like our lives let us down enough right. its not fair if video games do it too.
As someone who has made bills from merching, i put elder maul at 2-500m personally once everything has calmed down and the update comes out. Made 12b off them lmao.
They should just leave the voidwaker alone, it serves its purpose as one of the end game spec weapons sitting alongside claws and ZCB. They worked so hard to deliver a great wilderness boss re-work that increased activity by giving PVMers a good reason to go into the wilderness. If they go ahead with the proposed voidwaker change, it won't be nearly as useful so the price will tank which in turn means we'll start to see a decline in activity. There's many other weapons that they need to be looking at other than the voidwaker right now. Dupe Protection is something I'm really not a fan of - the RNG of getting a drop is what makes this game what it is and if we start adding in built-in rules for specific drops then it takes an element of that away. Firstly they should make the boss teleport to Nightmare tradeable or something. Nobody wants to spend 2 minutes running to the boss, getting slapped up like a bitch, then having to run 2 minutes back to pick up your stuff, then teleporting to bank and spend a few minutes re-gearing, to have to run another 2 minutes back to the boss. That's just straight up boring and demoralising. I tried Phosani's a few times, got my rectum rearranged each time but quite quickly lost motivation to go back because it feels like I'm just wasting time not actually playing the game due to the journey times. Inquisitor armour is some of the coolest looking armour in the game with paper defence like void. For something that's so hard to get it makes no sense as to why it's so useless. It's from one of the end-game bosses, it should be rivalling Bandos armour at the very least. All of that is before even talking about the ludicrous drop rates at Nightmare which obviously still need to be better than what they have already proposed. Reducing the drop rates but making the armour set actually useful enough to rival Bandos/Torva in some scenarios would be the ground I think people would be happy with.
every update from the smallest to the largest, the osrs community cries. Games been peaking and its been going on for 11+ years. I trust them when it comes to certain integrity changes. Love the Mods, the community for 99% of updates still vote so they do keep us for controlling a majority of the direction the game goes and i'm happy they also step up when the game needs dire attention.

Voidwaker nerf is just pretty tragic and not a fan. Nerfing a BIS at high lvl TOA without any near improvement. But also understand wanting to expand the spec wep space… maybe nerf voidwaker when a new powerful item comes out?

I don't love dupe protection... but there's so much content coming out it's hard for an average person to experience the content even if they "go on rate" for every drop. The game has grown from when those drop rates were designed. The theoretical length of the game just keeps getting longer and longer which is great for the sweats/streamers but daunting for new people/average people. I think some sort of general "going dry" protection should be figured out.

@Jagex Mods, The Voidwaker is SUPPOSED to be OP. It’s supposed to mix things up in the wild. If you REALLY want to do something about the voidwaker then make a set of armor that isn’t impacted as much by the voidwaker special.
dupe prot is good for raids until one of everything on that table is obtained. getting 20 augury scrolls before a rigour would be gross. same with barrows dupe prot would be nice to not get 30 ahrims staffs before the body. besides a chest like loot table normal bosses should prob not be touched unless the drop rate is lowered.
Personally I don't understand why people have such a hard time considering dupe protection for sets that take potentially hundreds of hours to acquire. The way they did it for Perilous Moons is great, dupe protection until you have one of everything then it's business as usual. Green logging isn't as cheesy, irons hate themselves less, and it makes the grind feel more rewarding without the potential for despair after getting 3 dupes in a row.
Aren't the dt2 rings "sort of" in very small sense dupe protection? You roll the ring drop 3 times and you get the ring. Can take between 3-3000 kills, would be same for inquisitor etc
I hate the eternals. Its such a shit way to add magic damage to boots, instead of a new item that makes us stronger, it makes the shadow weaker if you don’t bring an item you didn’t need before.
Dupe protection for Ironmen would be dope, but only for bosses not for raids. With the amount of OSRS content out now you have to put in a metric fuckton of hours if you want best in slot in anything, personally I got my IM to a rly high lvl but never did a lot of the super end game content just because of how grindy drop chances, if dupe protection became a thing I would be more inclined to play the new bosses that I haven't even met in game. alternatively a good shout would be to lets the unique drops be like Vorkath head, once ur kc reaches the 1/X drop chance then you get the item in the next kill, again this would only be good for ironmen but it would be a light at the end of the tunnel for people who don't want to have to grind for a living.
No dupe protection ffs.. This game is meant to make you feel like you win the lottery when you get the drop. Nothing at Phosani's is essential so why not just leave it as a fun bonus grind..

I go to bandos. I kill the boss twenty times. I get no drops. I am no closer to a bandos body than when I started, 250 kc dry. I thumbs down log out. And you want to tell me that this is *good*?
Dt2 bosses dry protection works in reverse, most people have to go 1.5x the drop rate to get ring drops, myself included. The hidden variable mechanic is an awful one
