Jagex, Please Let Us Into This Bot Busting World! 

Its all just a publicity stunt because they clearly dont do much to stop the bots

@devynyates1929 That's not what I'm saying What I mean is that to make the game (and thereby the company) look better, they want to give off the impression that their bot busting abilities are better than they actually are They could easily just spare 100 detected botters from bans until they make their streams Those aren't necessarily bots that were newly found

@@devynyates1929 The incentive is that jagex wants to retain their playerbase, and the majority of us are against bots So they need to downplay how many bots there are and inflate their stated detection rates.

Then jagex would have to actually care about the bots. Problem is they don't wanna lose 75% of their revenue.

Ah but that's the thing. If players could get rewards by reporting bots, then botfarms would center around themselves about reporting other bots in their competitions bot farms to farm rewards from those bots for those rewards.

this would encourage a ton of false reports as well, clogging up the system and slowing down the rate at which actual bots are banned

My bot detector plugin on runelite has like 5k confirmed bans.

I can tell you right now, as a bot writer, they know. Many competent bot writers collect ban data already. I know one who works with an anti-bot data scientist to collect, parse, and interpret the data to lower ban rates for his script. This anti-bot scientist works with various companies to fight bot attacks on websites and ironically uses his knowledge to make bots less bannable for osrs.

Do you not think a bot script writer knows which of their own accounts get banned the most?

I mean Factor makes sense for some people. I was subbed for about a year and thought it was nice to not have to plan what to eat every week, a box just showed up every Tuesday and all I had to do was put it in my fridge. With that said, I still wouldn't recommend Factor. I was going on vacation and wanted to cancel my sub temporarily. When realizing you could only pause it for a few weeks before it would auto resume and that you literally had to call in to their hotline to cancel it I just went ahead and cancelled permanently. Wasn't going to give a company that pulls tactics like that any more of my money

the game is very simple: people like PK so they buy coins from the internet, from botters, the boters make bots who have payed membership sometimes, so jagex is making money from bots, they dont really care even botters buy coins from botters probably, so they can gear up their bots and compete in the botting game :D

the last like year or 2 they 100% stopped banning as many bots. theres so many obvious 200m thieving bots at vyres. i truly believe they dont ban bots cuz they buy membership

the vorkath bot farm that trades mules multiple times daily at the g.e on world 308 and has quite literally over 100 vorkath bots in it would beg to differ, I reported every single one of their accounts over the past few weeks and not one of them has been banned, not a single one.

Except after the first time they'll just add a secondary bot that will check on other bots in the farm to confirm that they're still on the normal worlds. And thats if the bot owner doesn't want to just check them manually. Also I dont think most bots wait days or weeks before muling their gold, so realistically it would probably stall for like 12-24 hours at most.

@smilestheemo3365 you would think it would depend on what bot farm The little ones are one thing but there are guys runnings dozens or even hundreds of accounts so it's unlikely they can continiously check progress beyond simply seeing if it was running The checker bot would have to have some way of reporting non contact as well and most of those bott programs are really basic Granted there are a few which are fairly advanced, such as the TOB bots but those usually require a real person to check them anyway Also to gather 10s of millions through farming it's unlikely they are checking them daily running fairly efficiently revs would give you what 1 to 1.5m an hour? So, to be able to collect 70 to 100 mil on hand on the account it's unlikely they are muling off that often

I think those streams are pointless. It just proofs how they don't give a fck. Go look up those names from the high scores… They are all back in the game. None of them got actually banned because the appeal system, is operated by a robot, so they got appeals accepted and continue botting like nothing ever happened. So what is the point of these Streams??

@@scrung they’re literally going to no bot hotspots(spots that are actually over-run with bots on every world) for example. Rev caves..there’s 5 bots every spawn on every world. How about try getting rid of those farms? That are bringing in well over a billion gold per day at the least. Eh? How bout it? They won’t though like i said, because it exposes how bot ridden the game truly is. Which is why they do this on a whole entirely different world that nobody had access to.

how was it sus? i watched ir like 3 times to see him. there were far too many bots around to reliably spot every single one.

yeah theres a lot of mains that are high level that bot because they heard one dude say "jagex doesnt watch accounts with hundreds of hours for botting"

No, there is no possible way for a bot script to know this. So it's likely a mix of coincidence, you being super slow & likely a tiny bit of paranoia on your end.

None that I can think of, but a lot of bots will log out instantly if another player comes within range of them. That's usually used to make wilderness content almost completely safe, but it could also be used to hide from other players to avoid reports.

just run a bot script and watch

They are they just dont shoe it on stream vs. doing it more efficiently as their actual job. They could do a monthly stream, though

It doesn't. The bots killed in these streams are a fraction of a percent of all bots.

Almost impossible to measure with out knowing how much stuff there already is. We also have to remember that anything that makes it out of a hot account into the players hands is effectively stuck in the game now.

Plus you can quite easily program a bot to complete practically any of the content in the game without any risk of death.

They are supervised bots usually though, You often find the bot farm owners stood nearby to kill you if you bother them.

Are you saying the game only has around 30k real players online while the other 70k are bots / goldfarmers?

every time jagex bans a bot someone buy a new bond, they are HEAVILY incentivized to ban bots as fast as humanly possible.

​@@skoodlemoosenot true about banning as fast as possible. Those people buy bonds for bots because they will still profit with the bot. If the bots are banned too quickly, they won't even make the bot and buy the bond, so they are actually incentivized to let the bots make a profit for their owner before banning them.
