Feels like Jagex ignored the real issues with their original blog and cherry picked a few things to fix, rather than taking a look at the overall problems with the original proposal. Eternal boots ARE NOT a viable solution to what they really want to do with the game. They fixed the minimum hit proposal to what I had suggested before, which is great, and doesn't hurt late game, while still buffing early game. These mage changes are in shambles and have no real direction. They are literally just slapping numbers in random places and hoping people like them or won't do any calcs to see how BAD this will hurt not only late game players, but learning/returning players in the PVM scene. STOP TRYING TO TOUCH VW, NOBODY WANTS THIS NERFED. At this rate it feels like one Jmod pushing an agenda/obsession with nerfing VW 6 feet under. 400% accuracy STILL leaves it less than 60% accurate on current BIS locations, ANNNNNNND still useless after a nerf, we will bring claws if this is still the number.

"I'm not sure why we're balancing the game around irons and cloggers" but also routinely makes videos on changes where he bases his every argument on raid speedruns... it's fine to have an opinion and advocate for the part of the game you enjoy, but just because something doesn't suit your narrow play style doesn't mean it's a bad change or going to ruin the game. For example - putting 2% damage on boots is not going to make any mid level pvm'er even remotely consider 9 way switches, there's no way you actually believe that.

No, they won't consider a 9 way switch, and just get nerfed 2% damage overall, and be okay with that. This hurts mid level/early game more than late game players.

@@GnomonkeyRS again, really depends on your definition of hurt here, fine margins often matter much less in mid game - e.g. mid game players probably aren't going to care that they killed zulrah in 92 seconds not 90 seconds. There's really not much content that a tiny dps loss will lock you out of until you get to the very extreme end of the game. I actually didnt feel that occult was really an issue in the first place, but you can basically pick apart and find negatives with any proposed solution if you view it from enough different angles.

I mean, they shouldn't be balancing items around the 0.01% of players doing cox speedruns. The average pleb doing zulrah with his ahrims and karils setup will now be happy he can get a boost from eternal boots.

Disagree with the comment on eternals; High-level PvMers will have to find their way but if we want to put value in these items there's no way around this. Voidwaker special attack should just give a 5t cooldown instead of the usual 4t. Fixes the real problem (PVP) while not really having an impact on PvM. Inquisitor is just weird because the melee armour space is so crowded. You already have Torva as the end-all-be-all for melee and Fighter torso/basic str setup is your only real reference point. You can add defence and prayer bonus, which is what Bandos armour does. So you either place Inq between Bandos and Torva or you set it next to Bandos as an alternative with less defence but even more strength/prayer. I think any and all concepts of worrying about prices of existing items should just be straight up ignored within these discussions: these blog posts are doing more to the prices of these items than the actual update will do.

I think offhands for mage can use the buff, otherwise mostly agree. Non-shadow owners should already be bringing a ward or something for damage anyway, it’s not like it’ll add another switch

I get that you’re frustrated with the voidwaker changes, but the whole point of changing it was so that it doesn’t just bypass all defense so that they can introduce other spec weapons for different scenarios. I’m not really sure what they can do to still make it feel good and be usable, but I don’t think the right play is to just leave it how it is.

The lack of consistency concerning the boots is saddening..since people don't want eternals and pegasians to get love then take away the strength bonus on prims..let's see who really uses them then..those both boots need % damage/ranged strength in my opinion..taking the % from the occult to power them is wrong though. Your max hit shouldn't go down but if you want more you'll need to carry the boots, your choice to bring them or not, just my opinion.

the fact that you 0.01% are going to have to have more switches to be slightly more faster doesnt matter. because thats literally what being the top 0.01% being the best is, doing the hardest things. Instead Giving more switch *options* to mid levels is the goal and its good for the rest 99.9% of the community in that regard. I respect you but god you do have tunnel vision.

Med levels even stronger now in the wilderness. Taking %DPS away from occult and putting it into robes and prayers hurts zerkers and pures... risk including robes goes way up, meanwhile the same DPS increase is applied to welfare blood bark. This is all before factoring in the upgrade to augury. I know "end-of-game" progression is meant to be the goal but build diversity is good for the health of the game. This makes it boring, linear, and expensive to do anything other than the meta in the wilderness. PKers never get represented on Reddit and it shows up in these updates

Pretty much everything about this mage rebalance seems to be "good on paper" but "not fun at all in practice". Anc should definitely be buffed though. Giving any damage to noob robes just seems silly and strange, because everything before shadow has such low damage that the magic dmg% takes a looong time to add up to actually give max hits

I love that reddit argument "If 2% damage doesn't seem worth it, then don't bring the boots", but at the moment when people are currently deciding that the boots aren't worth it and not bringing them that's apparently a problem.

The problem isn't that people aren't bringing it. The problem is that this particular slot is useless for some styles and not others. The melee boots are good and gives you more DPS, while the mage does not. For the sake of consistency, the mage version should also give DPS. If player then decide that it isn't worth the slot due to space, great. But right now it is never worth it, even if you don't have a full inventory.

@@emuhast It does give DPS, just not percent damage. Its worth it for solo mage bosses (whisperer, GWD, etc.). Giving damage to them seems fair, but it shouldn't require you to wear them just to get the same damage you had before. Now we have to camp/flick Augury, which drains prayer, and add a new complexity to switching for a tiny increase in damage. Also, if you don't use the new augury, and equip the new boots, you LOSE damage.

@@PrinceDman I am not really a fan of losing DPS compared to the past, since it screws with scoreboards for speedruns and stuff. But, i don't think its absurd to lose DPS if you don't do everything you can. You lose DPS without Rigour, which also drains prayer. You lose DPS if dont use Piety and Prims, so at least its consistent.

@@emuhast I don't get it. why does every slot need a switchable option? Why does it have to be consistent? I think things can be lopsided if it means it's more fun. Being encouraged to bring more switches is not fun. You can use eternals for slayer and mage only bosses and that is fine.

@@XxSupaBAMxX In my view, it makes no sense to get the maximum damage output, if you are not using the maximum amount of slots for that attack style as possible. It doesn't *have* to be consistent, but it feels much better if it is. Yeah, it's not fun to do 9-ways. Then don't do it. I rarely do 8-ways. Guess why? I like playing this game in a more chill way, even when I'm bossing. If you don't like the 9-way, don't do it. But you are required the boots to get the maximum melee DPS, it should be this way for ranged and magic, too.

My pet theory is that they've got some specific boss mechanic in mind for a later release, and the current vw mechanics break it in a way they don't know how to prevent.

@@bcaudell95very plausible, another theory is that they already have an item planned to propose for something that’s upcoming in the not so distant future, but Voidwaker basically makes the new item irrelevant. It’s still a move in bad faith by Jagex if either are the case though

Thank you for talking about inq, I feel like I'm going crazy reading what jagex says about this set. In what world is the complaint people have about this the fact that it isn't viable at grotesque guardians and cerberus? There are like a dozen ways to improve inq that make sense and they chose none of them. Giving the 7.5% bonus to all crush weapons instead of just the mace, giving it more str bonus to be between bandos and torva, removing the negatives, giving it legitimate defense, etc. It should be in a spot where it solidly beats out torva on crush weak monsters like tekton and loses to torva (but still beats bandos) on slash/stab.

Offhands is the one slot that could use a massive boost to close gap to shadow. Fort. ward should honestly be 10% or better considering the rarity of its components and the requirements

I said this last video. Offhands can be massively buffed and it would have zero impact to shadow. I like the idea of having Mage's Book and Malediction Ward be good like they proposed, but this change also makes the Eldinis Ward even sadder of a drop. They could make that item be like 7% unfortified and 10% fortified and the game would be fine. It'd be the best mage upgrade outside of a shadow, unless you already have a shadow. Which imo is a good spot for a raid drop, versus it being a trash item that's only 6m because it's not one of the most common drops. Edit: Offhands are also just so much accuracy that most people I know bring them anyway, so this is a 0 inventory cost buff.

As a mid-game, pre-bofa andy PVMer myself, I agree with your feelings on the boots, but disagree on offhands. there aren't a lot of important two handed weapons in the mid game outside of ranged, so there's reasonable incentive to squeeze out accuracy there if you can afford a ward. I personally run 6 way switches in ToA, and I find myself equipping my book of the dead on mage because it keeps the swaps even. In this way, I think offhands can slot in to more entry-level PvMers like myself's setups pretty naturally, and lets Jagex add more incremental upgrades to mage without overbuffing shadow (which, if we want to talk about weapons that limit future design space, is probably the weapon that's more in need of a change)

disagree with you for once , its a change thats long overdue and if you think about it was inevitably going to occur if they released future upgrades to pegs/eternal boots. or if DT2 prayers had come out it just doesnt make sense to design a game where 2/3 styles in certain spots just are not useful. we had it for years where we camped berserker ring only and dragon boots only. max gear for max dps should have always been a thing , with people choosing gear based on what weapons they prefer to rely on for the speed run / normal kc or just learning. The only real reason you gave against it is that its hard to do a 9 way and you dont have invent space to bring every single potential item that can save time.... sorry i guess?

I was, and still am, in camp eternal (and pegasian) should have magic% and range str WITHOUT taking it away from other gear. Because, as it stands, you will literally always bring prims in multi-style fights. I want pegs and eternals to be a consideration. What I don't want is for these boots to be a must to be up to par to what you were pre occult nerf (which is how it is right now). Don't even get me started on the absolute smooth brained reddit takes.

It's still miserable if they give these damage because they become mandatory switches to do efficient content. Nobody in the world wants to do 9 ways, and quite honestly I don't care about what "makes sense in the context of the game" in comparison to what actually makes it fun to play.

By that logic with the boot switches, then none of the boots should have % power. I am unsure why only one attack style should benefit here. Either all of them should have % power or none should. This is just left over bad game design with the boots.

I don’t get why you say they shouldn’t make changes with ironmen in mind because its a "side thing" and then turn around and say that some changes are bad bad for speed running. Also, having more gear switches means you can play around more with what items to bring and what to leave at the bank. Isn’t that the fun of it? Making your own original and unique setup instead of copying the meta?

because hes a bit clueless on what type of player base is keeping jagex running and its not speed runners and will never be the case. he acts like all choices need to have speed runners in mind which is completely silly as its less than like 0.001% of the player base that does it.

I was thinking the same thing!!! I agree the game should not cater to ironmen HOWEVER, this game isnt designed for speed runners either. That part annoyed me. I think the change to eternal boots is great. They've needed a buff.

Hot take: You don't need to minmax every single thing you do. that extra 2% wouldn't provide any significant boost anyways in a situation that you are gear switching regardless because content that requires gear switching is generally balanced for that ANYWAYS. the extra 2% that eternal boots provide is useful for if you are doing full magic setup and sticking with that which does have a niche. But you know, with everything I point out, minmaxers are going to throw nasty comments at me instead of just admitting they are being ridiculous lol

The thing is, is it even possible to rebalance magic gear whilst balancing the game which is amenable to both casual, mid level and high level players like yourself..? I'm not convinced, and I think there will have to be winners and losers in some regards.

Have only come across your channel the past couple of days and I have to say your general tone is really pretentious. You can disagree with changes in a much less scathing way to the people proposing the changes. Overall, pretty solid take. Boots should be useful but not to the point where getting the same damage as before requires bringing 9 or 10 way switches. I do however think it's pretty much inevitable to bring more switches if you want to make every gear slot useful for different combat styles. What would be your thoughts on being able to group gear switches so that you could for example equip let's say 4 (or more) items with a single click? Gear switches is one of the most tedious and annoying mechanics in game currently anyway. I would assume you don't feel it contributes much to the overall skill expression of the game anyway. Also, I like the idea of Inquisitor being a Crush alternative in between Bandos and Torva. Graardor is so much easier to kill than Nightmare, very valid point you made there!

I think this is just wrong on a few levels. Early-mid game you either CAN take the extra item because you’re not doing content where u need switches, or you don’t have to take the extra items because you’re not doing content that requires a tick perfect 9 way switch. There’s literally no downside outside of people trying to minmax their ticks. Even 300 invo raids(what I would consider is the max for the average player) doesn’t need a 9 way switch, and everyone already knows this. This really just sounds like a big cry out from HLC and speed runners because their gameplay is getting annoying for them.

I think you are wrong linking all the balancing to the players who do CM's and spam colosseum. I think allowing eternal boots e.g. to give magic dmg so there are more options for upgrades. I understand it would give an extra switch at maximum end game, but the entirety of the game that is not maximum efficiency would be improved with more options.

To play devils advocate for a moment. But you said jagex shouldn't balance the game for irons and cloggers but wouldnt the same argument apply for your 9 way switch argument? The incredibly VAST majority of the game, probably 99% of players do not speedrun raids and high level content. And while I understand your argument regarding 9 way switching and inventory space value it's just not that relevant outside of the 0.1% of players. Your average osrs players will think "neat new boots for my kraken task" while they beat their shmeat on the main monitor.

Speedrunning isn't just speeds. It's all end game content that people do, Tob, cm, etc. Also, as many have ignorantly stated they would just NOT bring the boots and not care. This update was to buff mid mage no? So if you have people not bringing the boots they automatically lose 2% damage from their previous builds. It nerfs EVERYONE.

@@GnomonkeyRS in general I do agree that it's a slight nerf to everyone however I would also say it does effect max gear disproportionately compared to progressing accounts. Most accounts will have paths to take to increase their dps before they hit the wall of trying to squeeze out max value out of max mage with eternals. Also when did they state it was a buff to midgame gear? My understanding is that they're trying to create a more diverse mage midgame that isn't mostly just buying a busted 800k necklace. And again sadly I still stand by my point that most people are not that fussed by a 2% potential dps loss. Haven't done any dps calcs but does a 2% dps loss result in any noticeable loss in a midgame mage set? Say new ahrims+trident+standard stuff.

How many swaps is too many? I already do 8 ways. I don’t bring Brews into ToA because I have yellow Keris. Since I don’t have staff or tbow, every free invi slot for restore,sanfew absolutely fucking matters to me. Dropping a slot for a damn boot switch regardless of a nerf or buff could mean I have to run lower invo raids due to prayer usage. I’m struggling enough to get out of the mid game as it is. I don’t need 9 ways fucking up my grind. I don’t need mage nerfed almost ensuring I will have to dps skip Ahkka every fucking time during butterfly. Like if you guys take a second to think about it you’ll realize that mid game is getting unreasonably hit by these changes and gnome monkey is trying to address that for our sake not his own or for the sake of end game players.

I love how shadow went from a +1 max hit increase to now being the same max hit and you lose 2 max hit if you don’t bring boots. Adding strength to a slot that didn’t have it should be an exciting addition to the game, not “we put this here and now you have to use it or you do less damage”

Great takes all around! Curious how you would feel about a new drop buffing magic boots in the future... boots seem like the next slot that's due for an upgrade. Would you not want it added because it might be worth bringing the 9-way switch? But I agree in this case it feels super bad because we have to bring the 9-way to match current mage damage so it's not a rebalance it's just a nerf to mage or -1 invent spot.

I'm a bit worried that Jagex is purposely overlooking nerfing the Verzik lightning damage for regular solo TOB because they don't want to devalue past completions too much. If that ends up being the case, the red Nylo change is completely pointless and pretending like this suddenly allows people to "clutch it out" is hilariously out of touch. In what scenario is someone going to have enough food to tick eat lightning multiple times AND get through the rest of P2/P3 by themselves? Yea exactly. Hopefully it's just an oversight but idk they have some goofy ass logic sometimes.

i feel like they need to just rework the Shadow before doing all there changes as that's the main culprit that is fucking everything up... so here's the idea... Accuracy stays Triple but make it so Shadow Triples your dmg upto 50%... Then left over % gets Doubled up to 70%... Then if you have any left over % after it just adds it on as normal. This leaves our current max mage at 69% rather then current 75%. Which gives us 6% free to work with (or 11% if we nerf occult to 5%) to give to armour and prayers to get the same dps back up. That remaining 11% can easily disresputed +2% on all ancestral pieces to make 4% each, +2% on eternal boots and +4% on Augury this will then leave max dmg at 71% without augury, 75% with augury or 77% with boots + augury very similar to current dps! (better if you are willing to bring boots)! This also leaves alot more room to get lower tier mage robes a decent % aswell. This will give a slight buff to using sang/trident but tbh i think that's needed anyway to bridge the gap and this also future proofs being able to add new magic damage freely.

So for your first argument, where you advocate for not buffing eternal boots because you don't like it for speed running, could easily be refuted by imaging a clogger who wants to use as many of their clogs as possible. Not saying I'm that clogger nor that I want eternals to be buffed nor that I'm not a fan of your content, just here to address intellectual inconsistencies and advocate for irons rights. At the high levels of PvM, every inventory space matters. We only get 28 of them to work with. Prims have always been the best boots to bring into raids because you can just take them off to not have the negative Ranged/Magic attack while keeping your Melee max hits. 9 and 10-way switches plus camping Augury for the same DPS is just absurd. Ancestral Robes • Where’s the Prayer bonus for having to camp Magic prayers especially Augury? • 4% each piece should have been left alone. Virtus Robes: • 1% to 2% but 3% on Ancient Magics so that Ancestral can remain best in slot in all Magic-based applications and not require niche power creep. Occult Necklace • Leave at 10% but add Magic damage to another amulet already in game.. Fury, Glory, Magic, Damned, etc. God Cape (i) • Mage Arena III? Elidinis Ward (f) • All for boosting this off-hand to 8-10% considering it cannot be traded, the skill requirements, and item requirements. • This will also make Magic below Shadow feel better. Eternal Boots • No Magic damage on these. Boot switches are not worth it in a raid setting or even in Inferno and Fortis. This is a waste of an inventory slot that can be better utilized by a special attack weapon and/or extra supplies. Voidwaker • Leave exactly how it is. It still doesn’t out-class Claws or ZCB and it’s not used in as many places as Claws/ZCB are. Inquisitor’s: • Buff the Defence so it’s actually worth going for instead of using Bandos until Torva is obtained. • Roll Justi from ToB into Inq Armor for higher stats but requires 80 Defence.

Mystic Might + any existing Magic Helm/Top/Bottom (- boots) gets you back to +9% magic damage compared to the 10% from current Occult. Bump it up to Augury and now you are at +11%. Thus boots are just a small upgrade or small nerf. Also not every player does a 8 way switch for most content, yes of course the top 1% PVMers do. For most who will camp in magic gear for PVM it's a direct upgrade overall. Instead of adjusting numbers marginally they need to focus on releasing a Bowfa version for magic or make offhand magic shield/book very powerful to help bridge towards Shadow without buffing Shadow in any form.

there isn't even enough inventory space to bring 10 way switches to all combat styles if you also need potions, spec weapons, or runes... They're changing way too much at the same time. The whole reason I made my iron account was because I wanted to grind the items myself... Sure DWH 1/5000 buffed to 1/3000 is nice, and I support that. But dupe protection is just horrible... There are very few places where I think it's fine, but 95%+ of the time dupe protection is just a bad idea PLUS it messes so much with groupe ironmen trying to get a specific weapon, helm, etc. because now they have to get the whole set multiple times, instead of maybe getting lucky, and get the specific item b2b relativly quick... This helps no one except solo ironmen, but at that point, what is the meaning of playing an ironman, if you already know with 100% certainty what your next drop will be. Sounds aweful for the game

The argument that they *shouldn't* be buffing a bunch of magic gear because "I have to click more stuff" seems kinda wild to me, because right now as you've said, Eternals are useless. So, now that they've given magic boots some love and the magical boots are now magical enough to use.... it's a problem? Is this because people have to click a little more? Not everyone does PvM to such a sweaty level. Personally I don't mind the change because thematically, we have 3 pairs of boots for their respective roles in melee, ranged and mage. They SHOULD, from a game balance stand point, all be equally good in their respective roles. Prims are used DURING range and mage switches, which is just bizarre. Pegs and Prims are barely used because, "they're bad so don't", but now when they're becoming good, and you should.... it's hated lmao. I totally understand you're coming from an end game min max speedrun perspective, but that isn't how the game should be balanced around.

One thing I disagree with VERY strongly is Eternal Boots buffs. You think this is a bad thing? As a SPEED RUNNER? Admitidly I dont know much abaut speed running, but I know one thing. Speed runners HATE then there's luck element in speed run. Because this devalues skill and your time is depended more on the luck factor then actually skill and game knowledge. That's why some games aren't speed run as often as others or not all at if it's just "getting lucky" then actually knowing how the game works. So you complaing abaut 9 way switch is just dumb. Because if you are skilled enough this just pushes you to be better, switch faster then other people to get better time using that advantige you have over people who can't pull it off as cleanly as you would. TLDR. For any speed runner this change is actually better to get faster times if you are actually skilled at what ur speed running, because it widens the gap between people who are skilled enough to pull this off constatly and people who just got good RNG.

Longer than corp, longer than cox, longer than nex. As of rn no one cares cause the drops are ass, no harm no foul. If we are honestly looking to make Harm stafd competitive it 100% cannot be more rare than the Tbow. Like 16% of players are gonna hit 2x. Thats fucking 4500 phosanis, at 10 minutes a kill, AFTER the buff. Absolutely wild, it's genuinely like asking all ironmen to do Xtreme one chunk level grinds just for one item which will still be not the bis at 99% of content.

I think you're wrong when saying every 'worthwhile' switch will be brought in. Efficient raiders will bring a setup that is efficient. If players can't do 9-ways, then that setup is not, by definition, efficient. Even in the speedrunning world, there's TAS strats that 'efficient' (WR) runs won't use because players cannot pull them off. I know this is non an equal comparison, but hopefully you get the point. Content should not be balanced based on what the .01% will use in their wr speedrun attempts, but rather wr speedrun attempters should be adapting to what the game's content is. If you want more consistent times, bring more switches, make it work. If you don't want to bring more switches, make more attempts to reach the time you're looking for.

Addressing some of your points in turn "Jagex is expecting you to do 9-10 way switches to get the same damage" Jagex is not expecting people to be hitting maximum dps at every moment without tickloss... That's up to the player, but it's not an expectation. Complexity is added in deciding your loadout. If people are worried about the fact there will likely be a

I think you are wrong. Adding a magic damage bonus to the eternal boots makes 100% sense if they redistribute the magic damage. The only reason you and other people don't like it is because you are hell-bent on doing everything efficiencyscape. Most players will benefit from the eternal boots magic damage; because most players aren't doing content that requires nine-way switches. Secondly it doesn't encourage massive switches, players who have a maximum efficiency mindset like you encourage themselves to make 9-10 way switches. Sometimes adding things that don't benefit the high-end pvm players is the right thing to do, and in this case I think it's the prudent move.

"Jagex is ruining early game PVM" "9-way switches affects my inventory in CM speedruns" Listen, I get where you're coming from, I get your point. 9-way switches sound like complete aids, but the reality of the situation is that the average early-game PVMer is probably isn't doing anywhere near that. Most early game mage-based PVE is someone sitting on one style, and camping mage the entire time so they'll be looking to wear as much mage gear possible. This change is just a straight up nerf to mage at the late game and in hybrid situations, while helping bridge the powergap in the early to midgame because right now if you don't have ancestral and a shadow, mage just feels like ass. This changes Eternals from always useless, to situational in both early game and absolute sweatlord situations, which I think is their intent. You can still think this change is short-sighted and awful, but the only problem I had was with saying that somehow this change affects some noobs in ahrims and a trident of the swamp. It doesn't. These changes help them.

I think you touched on a valid point when it comes to dupe protection: it is a problem when it impacts the gp/hr. But nobody is asking to remove the dupe protection for toa gems. Why? Because they're untradeable. We could just not have dupe protection for them; that's exactly how the tackle box/fish barrel work. And it is a PAIN to get those items because the game unceremoniously tells you "Hey, you got a dupe" with those stinky x25 page drops. I also think people generally agree the tattered KQ head was a good update. I think at some point we need to understand that this is a game and the point of a game is to have fun. I think most people are willing to tolerate going 2x over the rate, and beyond that it begins to be a problem. I am going to propose something, which as a game dev I am sort of against because it's inorganic; but in much the same vein as we have Death's Office, and toggle settings galore in the game, we could just have dupe-protection as an option. Leave it up to each player, if they want it or not. If dupe protection is seen as a negative on a main you can remove it. The reason I propose this is because the more recent updates are featuring pity drops and rng protection. So now we have moons, and when you look at moons compared to barrows, for mains and irons it is best to just get some barrows melee gear and head straight to moons than to go do 300-400 more Barrows runs. Because if you want full ahrims, you can just go for blue moon and it will probably take you less time. The argument can also be made that we should not have dupe protection because it makes ironman easier, but then we reach a weird conclusion, that we already have dupe protection in place for untradeables (the aformentioned toa gems) which everyone agrees is a good thing, and every drop on an ironman is an untradeable... so why not have dupe protection? For me the challenge of ironman is that to get the item you have to do the content; You can't just bond up to get a Tbow. I don't think of the challenge of ironman as going 3x over rate for the item and having nothing to really show for it. Meanwhile, as a main you can use the other drops to pay for the drop you want. I'd be hard pressed to find that someone actually enjoys playing Ironman to experience bad rng. We are living in this weird limbo where the way a drop is handled is dependent on how recent the content is. And then there is DKS, which everyone seems to forget, was one of the early bosses in the game, that dropped BIS items at a relatively common rate of 1/128. That's why I have a big problem with Nightmare because it's a challenging boss, but on pretty much any account, it feels like a huge waste of time. People like getting spooned. People don't like going dry. Jagex's job is to keep people liking the game. I'll leave it on that note.

At first you said the inquisitor's armor shouldn't be balanced around iron men because they're such a small percentage of the community, and I completely agree with you, I don't like dupe protection. But then you said we shouldn't buff the eternal boots because it'll negatively affect raid speedrunners which is an even SMALLER percentage of the community so this take is pretty biased. It's not good for the game and for the overwhelming majority of people if bis items are completely useless. All bis items should be useful and have a trade off. Prims are still gonna be best in most scenarios unless they decide to buff pegasians but now you're actually gonna have to sacrifice something by not bringing them which is how the game should've been the whole time. The overwhelming vast majority of players will benefit from this change.
