It is starting to feel like bots ARE the runescape economy. I could only imagine how much more profitable slayer and skilling would be if they were all removed entirely.
I thought the old money grind was dumb. Work to play. Guild Wars had the best model for a player, not a company. If GW had been directx10 you likely wouldn't have even seen what is GW2 - it would have just blended in.
@James W That is also like cops profiting from crime. Getting shot sucks for either party, but it eventually happens. If they sold code for 1 month until it is the #1 bot by choice (and they are aware of it aka can yank the plug anytime) they control it nonetheless. They could sell a code legally (some legal loopholes, but legal) and terminate it. Criminals sometimes make the best detectives, except Sherlock or uh Jack the Ripper (idk fuel to somebodies fire?).
Osrs economy has always been 99% controlled by bots, from day one. Glad their impact on rs3 is quite minor, the economy is now in a healthy place and lots of items are worth farming again.
those corpbot9000's are at warriors guild getting defenders. but seems like they break here and there and go up and down the stairs constantly or get stuck in corner of cyclops room
i would imagine the purple clothes is just because it's the very next colour from the default ones, so they dont have the standard green pants tan top bald head
I'm glad Jagex is starting to have a dialogue with you Pugger, it's super cool to see your efforts are receiving the notice and acknowledgement they deserve.
this, he probably was doing the puzzle on 1 acc while the other's just afk logged or something. multi logging for late game pvm has become popular as of recent
I can confirm I know Paul Denino and these are his accounts Sir Pugger is trash nowdays, he called me a bot in his last video (Mystics squad at Barrows) when in reality I'm just a virgin that plays 6 accounts Sir Pugger what's happening lad? your videos are full of shitty info
Yay! You covered the LMS bots I mentioned in a recent video! Thank you for taking the time to go in-depth and breakdown their actions to see what’s going on. Love your vids homie!
and how would you know that he didn't in fact have personal contact to staff members? Also keep in mind that these videos are usually not made in a day so it could be possible that he got this information earlier than that
@@MinusTwoPoints Well, I am not saying it's not outside the realm of possibilities that he spoke with jmod about this and gained this information this way since it would not be his first time being in contact with them. But the timing made the content redundant as 'insider info' that being the kicker implied with personal conversation. Then again, not even smallest snippet of screenshot of conversation was showed on the screen even for split second as usual in these kind of videos it's usually done to get the "bragging rights". Inconvinient timing or sweet lie, unfortunate still as the video would still be enjoyable if commenting about the live stream.
They should make LMS only accessible in its world that way the funneling of players to that one world would make it less likely for bots to get the chance to farm each other.
Yeah, came here to say this. An ad played right after and when the ad ended, video was over, so I rewound it thinking i accidentally skipped ahead. But no, the video just ended abruptly lol
Jagex should randomize the tutorial island npc names and their locations so a bot programmer cannot program a bot to do them. Kind of like an instance. Can also add different randomized codes that the player must enter while talking to those tutorial island NPC based on what they said. It's a good amount of work but less work in total than banning 19,000 bots a day. If each bot has to be made by a person 1 by 1 then losing the bot is huge and may defer tons of mass botters
Tutorial island change wouldn’t stop bots, people don’t bot tutorial island often because that’s just asking to get banned. In fact changing tutorial island will just make the account look more human in the long run
I dabbled in coding a personal bot for tutorial island (and I am NO coder, by any means), and after a week I made a bot that could get through tutorial island, with randomized stats, and wouldn't be banned. Botting tutorial island isn't very hard - even with those suggested changes. When people wake up and realize how much more successful botting is when you write your own scripts (and how easy it is to learn to do, given enough time), the economy is doomed. But, be thankful. Most botting communities aren't going to share this info, because they profit from botters thinking coding is "too hard", so they keep it on the DL.
I don’t think it would stop bots nor did I claim it would stop them completely. It would however, put a small dent in the amount of bots as some bot programmers would have a difficult time. Putting as many barriers up as you can to try and stop bots is the only solution to minimizing bots In RuneScape. There are lots of small ideas like mine that you can implement that can reduce the number of bots by a good amount when they all work together.
Lmao the "Corp Bot" one is a guy that goes by the name of "Paul Danino" Thats his main account anyway. He plays like 20 accounts at once. I'm in a Discord with him. He uses those accounts to kill Bandos. Not a bot far, but yes a troll.
Is there anything to be done about the lumbridge spinning bot farm? I've seen 100s of accounts with +70 crafting as their only skill above 1 running up and down to the bank.
I'll never understand why OSRS accounts don't need to be connected to a real email address. Have Jagex auto-send a verification email for each new account created. I understand that small step wouldn't stop botting at all, but it would make it slower for bot-farmers to create new accounts. Also, can someone explain why LMS is even available in F2P? Or could it be limited to just a few F2P severs? It would increase the likelihood of real players actually being in each game. As SirPugger points out, having actual people in game drastically reduces the bots ability to farm points.
Jagex is really fucking lazy when it comes to combatting bots. I wouldnt even be surprised if jagex was spawning gold, selling it, then deleting it from the game.
@@BioChemistryWizard its not that their lazy. They just don't know what to do about bot farms and brute force banning all of them is just a waste of time and effort since they can just make more accounts. And no, jagex is definitely not spawning gold, selling it, then deleting it. Shut yo dumbass up about shit you know nothing about
@@WaggishTyphlosion jagex employees make like 16$ an hr, why would it be impossible for them to sell gold themselves? seems obvious to me, and seeing as 2 jagex boys got banned doing weird shit too
@@BioChemistryWizard what it was required to keep the game on, except broken, versus not at all? It wasn't ever a perfect game, and I think RS3 shows the player base prefers an ever changing flawed game.
"Have Jagex auto-send a verification email for each new account created" very easy to bypass this, but I can't see it being a major inconvenience for legit players.
How do the zammy wine bots log out so fast ? I can only catch them if they are mid tele grab. Also one of the bot owners logged in on a max main and tried to anti pk me.
They're are now hosting bots Collonelo noticed it and same with basically how these hosts aren't lighting their own burners and a noob account actually doin it is making the bot around 200m a day but Jagex is now highly aware of them cause it's easy to tell I also been helping Jagex with a group of people with me spam reporting some we've got a couple banned they've also tried targeting Collonelo by tryin to ban his channel for exposing those bots even though it was clearly noticable about those bots and ranks denying it.
@@beefedupbricklayer Pugger said to comment what we thought the number of banned bots was yearly and this man did just that. Don't call him a dumbass for guessing wrong.
I’m pretty sure the rune leg and addy platebody bots are the Ge are gold runners, they wait in certain worlds, usually by murky Matt, with a large stack of gold for people that bought gold from whatever website they’re with. They alch so the account doesn’t log while they’re figuring out orders.
i woulded use authenticator but how do hell can be use on windows 10 and no idea what is best, not useing/android, still useing buttons mobile so yeah.
Just argued with someone on FB who thought jagex didn't care about banning bots, then I proceeded to link stats and this video and in the long run he ended up deleting his status so ty for helping me win an argument pugs, keep up the good videos. You and Theo are the top tier informational osrs content creators and you guys do a fantastic job keep it up fam
Meanwhile rs3 has a false player count and uses osrs playercount for the total players. Their servers turn to shit when they get 300 people in one which barely even happens except for w2
few days ago I saw a big pile of bots running from lumbridge bank downstairs to sppining wheel and back same in Zeah near Anglerfish spots. I hope jagex arent sleeping on these
I botted my main on purpose for 8 hours straight to get banned cause I was addicted to Staking, but they also banned all my other accounts..... I never botted till this day and am crushed
My OG account with a username login was randomly banned all of a sudden after barely playing on it and I suspect it was hacked/botted. I submitted two appeals so far with password info and even my transaction number from the paypal purchase and both were denied. Should I consider this a lost cause?
@arch btw I didn't bot on it.. I just tried logging after a year and was randomly banned. When I tried to log in to check my account status my password was changed.
I am a F2P LMSer and I encountered these bots and the guy running them. The dude told us we would be banned for farming points off his bots because he didn't want us to kill them. THe Australian LMS casual world is actually where I spend most of my time logged in. THese bots are relatively new, only appearing in the last 2 weeks
the wines isn't a new bot, was doing a fire giant wildy task in that dungeon back in January; they were there, although there was only around 30 active from what i could tell
Yes I saw a ton of bots with purple clothes in the mines under falador. I was farming coal near the entrance and they would run somewhere deeper. Sometimes they would get confused and die to scorpions but would usually get up the stairs before more than 2 hits
This got me thinking so deepy about other issues i am facing in my life.. So incredibly done it is literally admirable Great content.. On an entire different level
I've had 2 step authenticator on, if they get access to your email, they can just deactivate it and still gain access. It was an old email that I don't use often.
97k players online, How many of them are legit And out of those legit ones how many are the same person??? I dont think osrs has more than 25k unique players at any given time tbh
I was chilling at the g/e yesterday and there were at least 25-50 bots running from the underpass to the exact same square to sell their items exact same gear as well and they steadily kept coming in packs of 5-10
no they say they remove 19k a day thats just a number they say they dont, even though bots ruin the game it makes jagex money when they play so why if 5k of the 19k pay 14$ for membership why would jagex ban them.... do you understand how much cash jagex will lose when they can have those 5k bots pay 14$ every month. and those are just the ones who buy with actual cash.
They get higher stats for ban evasion, a dedicated player will alch for hours on end, so a level 3 alching for 8+ hours is very high on jagex radar. so if you have an account with "main" melee stats then it reduces the risk of ban, therefore you get more $$$ per hour
I stopped playing osrs because botting and 3rd party clients have messed with the integrity of the game. The clients give other massive advantages in pvp/wildy situations, and botting is impossible to beat and avoid. It's a shame. Love the vids man, keep it up!
I see a lot of those Rune Armor / Adamant chest-plate players in the Hill Giant area between Barb Village and Varrock. Never knew why they wouldn’t use full Rune armor. Something fishy there.
Would forcing every player to link a phone number and an email work? Then send a text to confirm its you. Thus linking your account to a number. Allow multiple accounts to one number. If your number is used frequently and found to be luring, scamming, botting, rwt. Your number will be declined. Cause allowing accounts only to be linked emails isnt working anymore.
