96000 USD could almost get you a Cayenne Turbo in US and that car is 300k in Australia, it is just stupid Aus car price is worse than some Asian countries with crazy import tax, like Singapore or Thailand
@@davidlegkodukh6969 it was super shit before tata bought it and so was landrover. They have made things better actually. This is what British quality really is as it is designed in UK. Third class.
Wonder if the screen is timing out? BMW will turn off after 10 minutes but will warn you, wonder if this does without warning. Can you let us know if this crashed while you were driving the car?
Looking forward to trying the SVR out in the next couple of weeks. Don't think my neighbours will appreciate the noise in our small apartment building car park, but that's too bad...
Wow! They need to fix the quality. Years ago I looked at a Range Rover at a car show. The passenger side mirror fixing was misaligned and a number of the dash switches were badly fitting, and parts of the seats had odd creases in them. Looks like not much has changed.
Traded in my F-Pace 3.0 diesel for one. Mine is in black. I've not had any issues, infotainment or otherwise with either of them. The seat, that's weird, I've not seen nor heard of that before. The infotainment screen going black, I've not had that, but it can definitely be a little temperamental from talking to others. Though it's not like any of the other car manufacturers are problem free on that front but unfortunately its expected from a Jaguar. Great review and I'm glad you enjoyed the car. Would like to see you review the 2021 model as the interior is much improved.
Another great review! Getting sick of typing that :p Love the look of this Jag but that key is hideous! That sound though is awesome! Despite the dodgy interior/info system I would happily support the petroleum industry each week or every few days depending on how heavy my foot was :) Question is, this or a Trackhawk?
Ha ha, no problems! I'd probably go this over a Trackhawk to be honest. I absolutely love the terror that comes from the exhaust of the Trackhawk, but it doesn't feel as refined as the Jaguar in the greater scheme of things.
I got one in the same Ultra Blue color with a lighter interior and I love it. I basically just couldn't resist that exhaust note. To be honest i got the same issues with infotainment in the beginning but not anymore.
Nice one! Yeah the exhaust noise is absolutely epic. I really enjoyed it. I think they may have rolled out a few infotainment updates that have resolved those issues.
Snap I got one in ultra blue with the white seats had it from new now 12 months old . Not had any problems .trim is fantastic no infotainment problems . It’s so fast and sounds amazing love it now as the day I got it
GREAT review. The seat.. push it back in. It was pulled out... Did the dash crash or just timed out with the engine off? Came back when you started the car. But yes all reviews hate the infotainment system. When test driving the BMW X5 M50i was asked what phone I had. They were glad I didn't have a iPhone as each update the phone has causes major connection issues apparently. Not Android auto. Wonder about this car. Best Looking Jag and Merc a tie. Best sounding yes. Best driving yes. Best tech... HELL no the worst. Best engine well google the BMW reliability, its scarey. Good good blind spot etc optional as id rate save $4589 + LCT I LOVE HUD but many don't and want to save $2650 + LCT Etc etc. Definitely rather the option to option:-) As my BMW came with ALL options including heaps I didn't want
@@CarExpertAus Wow that is crook, definitely should not be falling apart with just sitting, now glad was pointed out several times 👌 And no wonder these infotainment systems have such a bad name. MY21 I do hope have these two items above sorted and steering feedback increased too.
I see there are a lot of diehard Merc/BMW fans commenting on here. They have made their minds up before even thinking about this car. I guess brand loyalty counts for a lot. Well, after driving a V8 XJ for 20 years with very few issues, I just got an SVR. I have read a lot of comments recently about BMW and Mercedes not being as reliable as people think they are. For instance both Jaguar and BMW had big problems with Nikasil cylinder liners and both reverted to cast iron. Somehow Jags get the bad reputation for engine failures, BMW's didn't. I think people buy German for the badge. The SVR is a great car, instant throttle response compared with turbos, sounds way better than 4 and 6 cylinder competitors, and also sounds better than turbo 4L V8 Merc. As for the interior, who cares about dated. Fashion changes. I love the red leather interior, and it's very comfortable. I would agree that the steering could do with more feedback, but it's not really a problem.
Definitely worth it. I have a 2019 Yulong White F Pace SVR 15 months old and 18,000KM. So much fun to drive I am always looking for excuses to drive. The exhaust sound puts a smile on my face. My seats still look like new and no quality issues of any type. Reliability wise the engine and transmission are already proven to be very reliable and would expect a very long life. Electrical who knows with a Jaguar, but mine feels as solid as the day I picked it up, and in the US a 5 year warranty and service is included in the price making it even a better bargain compared to the competitors. Also most competitors have smaller storage and just not as practical.
Thanks for this Paul, I have just come across your new Chanel & am Loving it. It’s been a while since I handed you across some press vehicles. Stay Safe 🤙
God that deep voice thing cracked me up, so funny after a serious review 😂😂😂😂😂😂 he does the best honest reviews and doesn’t criticise every car over and over again. Glad he still brings up the good things even though there could be a lot of negatives with all the cars Paul reviews 👌🏾👏🏾
So, kids in cars. After seeing what The Son did to my wife's car (she's much nicer and let them eat in her car), the rule was that the kids are not allowed to eat in my car. This was from around 2012 in the GTI, and has carried through to the current car. When they were in their car seats, we always put down a towel or old blanket under the child seats to give the seats some protection from the hard plastics. Quick question on the space saver on this F-Pace. Is it also 22 inches? If you have to fit the space saver spare, does the original wheel and tyre fit into that space?
Ha ha, I like your kids and eating in the car philosophy! Generally the full size spare wheels don't fit in the cavity the space saver sits in. That was my experience with an Audi Q7 when I got a flat. The full-sized wheel was massive and it meant you couldn't really fit anything else into the boot. It was also very heavy to load into the boot.
I purchased mine on Jan this year. It is absolutely superb. The car has been travelled around 6000Km as a daily driver, and it did not have any issues with the interior nor the infotainment system. The exhaust is just intoxicating!
It's cheap because it's not reliable. 5 years down the line it will have depreciated half the amount it cost.....but it's a fun car, you can't dispute that
Maserati LeVante Trofeo and Alfa Romeo Giuliani are the two best looking SUVs out there with the F Pace SVR in a very close third place. Love the sound on here. Makes me want a F Type SVR because car. That said, Jaguars infotainment is quite miserable and confusing. Jaguar doesn't seem very good at the luxury/build quality bits which is somewhat a big ordeal in a luxury brand.
Yep, it all looks good on the surface, but when you look a little closer it's not as nice as expected. JLR just released the latest version of InControl with the updated I-Pace, which we should see filter down into this car.
@@CarExpertAus I hope it comes sooner rather than later. The XE I was in kept crashing when all we were trying to do was look at the weather. Definently needed more time in the oven. Half baked
@@CarExpertAus You can't stitch leather to metal lol Also, at 3:16 the leather hadn't come away from the metal insert on the seat? What made that happen? Can't have been anyone sitting there as they would push the leather back? Looking forward to your answers.
It isn't the best looking suv out there but it looks good, doesn't come close to the Jeep Trackhawk and it more expensive than the trackhawk but it is slower than the Trackhawk
GLC is a whole lot more money than this. It also sounds really good, but the ride is firmer than the Jaguar and it's not as practical inside. I love the look of the Stelvio and the QV sounds absolutely awesome as well, but I think the SVR pips it for sound and engagement.
Hold up Leather issues? Parking Sensor Issues? Slow 0-60 and 1/4 mile compared to competitors? And a terrible Infotainment System? Why would anyone buy this?
CarExpert CarExpert I dunno 🤷🏻♂️ the front just looks weird, especially after you’d shown the x5 and GLC. Just doesn’t say premium, more cheapo. The interior was a let down too. The performance is epic, but I wouldn’t spend my money there ( not that I can afford one 😂)
The screen didn't crash... it just timed out. If you are just sitting there and the car was turned off, th screen will automatically shut down after a few minutes.
@@CarExpertAusYes I've seen that message before (I own a 2018 F-Pace S) Just thinking logically, if the vehicle was off for several minutes, the shut off timer had started. If it didnt display that it was going to shutdown, maybe that part of the program has/had failed.
@@CarExpertAus BTW love your analysis 😀👍🏽 Watching trying to decide if i want to go after a used 2020 SVR or wait for the 2021 remodeled version. Also is that the Ultra Blue or the Velocity Blue. The one i own is Caesium Blue.
Paul how could you recommend the most piece of shit car company. I mean you need to realise this effects your credibility! People don't buy a car for 3 days mate, once we buy we have to live with it for 3-5 years. Therefore, stop recommending cars which are nice to drive for a day and think more long term.
Interesting, the only complaint I have about my SVR is how weak the brakes are. Maybe it’s the awful all season Pirelli Scorpions we get in North America since they didn’t homologate the performance tires for our market.
