I just purchased my father's buddy's 2006 S type Vanden Plas! Interior is in mint condition! 4.2L V8 British racing green! I wish my E class Benz interior (Vanden Plas)
Magnificent car. I had a XJR in 1998 and a XJS V12 In 1995 both great cars that didn’t give me any trouble at all. Your car is a level above any Jaguar that I’ve seen before. Well done indeed
Love those extra wood-panels & chrome ! Car looks Brand New. The Sound of the Alpine is really a Joy, makes driving a X308 Daimler a real experience, like inner-peace therapy. I love the Solar Rims on the Daimler. Great Job to keep another X308 Alive in Superb condition. ! Thank You for the Video !
I have always wanted 2 particular vehicles in my life time. A Land Rover & a Jaguar. I've had my Land Rover for several years now & it is a fantastic all round suv, especially for Winter driving. I have just recently purchased a Jaguar Vanden Plas, which I will use only during the Spring, Fall & Summer months of the year. I am looking forward to Spring reappearing so that I can get my baby back on the road. This vehicle is truly amazing.
I owned a Rover 827 Sterling Vanden Plas, it was exactly the same as a standard Rover 827 Sterling except it was approximately 50cm longer, so the coach builder added the Vanden Plas name. This is exactly the same with this Jaguar and there will have been others. As my Rover was one of many that had been built.
Lovley car just pure class went into jags just wish they come in bigger engines and more power 💥 💥 💥 💥 💥 💥 I drive the xj aluminium one 4.2 v8 classic very smooth ride recommend every man to drive one atleast once
I owned a low-mileage 2001 Jaguar Vanden Plas Supercharged, one of 240-some built for world consumption, and like a fool I sold it. The car is, in essence, an X-308-series Jaguar long-wheelbase XJ sedan with a major, hand-crafted interior upgrade. While the standard 4L Jaguar AJ-V8 produced around 280 hp, my Supercharged made 90 more. Either way the car had plenty of power, though the normally aspirated version was a little low on torque. The Vanden Plas moniker is not a marketing gimmick -- Jaguars with that appellation were graced with top-quality walnut burl with hand-fitted boxwood inlays. Their interiors were the product of skilled artisans whose expertise could be traced back generations. The leather was from Connolly, 2001 being the last year for that family-run operation's production before they went broke and were later revived. All VDP sedans got a lot of extra leather compared with the standard XJ. Virtually everything the driver or passengers touched was leather; standard XJ sedans incorporated a lot of high-quality vinyl, reserving leather mostly for the seating surfaces. Entering a Vanden Plas is sensory overload, there is so much fragrant cowhide. Like the car shown here, my 2001 VDP Supercharged had an Ivory interior. My car's exterior was Platinum, a cross between midnight blue and black. The paint was superb, mica composition, far superior to the factory paint of the standard XJ series. Looking back at this model with some perspective, I can only conclude the X-308 series was the high point of the classic full-sized Jaguar sedan. It's the last steel-bodied car produced on the Coventry line, and Sir William Lyons's favorite of all Jaguars when introduced to a shocked motoring world in 1968. Instantly it made every other British sedan obsolete. And though some would say that in today's world the X-308 itself is now obsolete, I would caution not so fast -- drive one first then decide.
Had not realised these VP modes were extensively and lavishly trimmed out. Very smart. Pity they didn't do the same to the last of the line XJ's in 2009.
Very class. That is the nicest I have seen. How did you go about the extra chrome bits for the seat controls and wood venerrs for cuholders ashtray door pilars, etc.
Cant figure out how to private message you, Do you happen to have the company info that did your cup holder, sports mode/traction trim, door storage trim, seat adjust button and the wooden part under the cup holder?
I am restoring an XJ8 Vanden Plas Supercharged V8 (porcelain white on white) ... I truly would like to know where you received all of the parts (VP emblem) ... :-D .. The music SUITS the car.
Porcelain XJ8s are truly the best one looking...XJRs with the chrome inserts on front of front doors make it even more beautiful to me. Now that Jaguar is indian it just sucks :(
Karen, parts with VP emblem were made in Poland in special companies. All handmade. Wood in different company, chrome in different. If you want, I can send you phone numbers etc.
No, it was normal model of vanden plas, but we changed whole interior for new one. Just like you can see in subtitles. New design is our idea. It's the only one in the world.
Would like one of these but ALL the models of this kind, including the XJ6/8/12, are becoming extremely rare and this is pushing 2nd hand values up, up, and up. My XJ6 Exec is now extremely rare and can expect to net me more than I paid for it. Result.
Michał Kolasiński I'm sorry about my poor English. I'm a Taiwanese Jag fans, I really love your amazing arts, can you make these components again?I would pay for these.
That a Daimler anything with a fluted grille is a Daimler not A jaguar. .that will not be Connolly hide as that firm was not in existance when tgat car was made. The highest spec car had separate rear seats
Monarchs of Luxury and Style. This X308 Jaguar VDP represents the last of the real Jaguar cars. Yes Ford did have a limited influence upon some improvements to the vehicle. But this car was built in Coventry England based on its predecessor X300. The last of the breed. They model after the X308 has some aluminum body panels and is much more generic in style and nature. Mark my words these X308' will be huge collectors items in 10 years time. They simply do not build cars like this anymore. And although they are very expensive to maintain they are worth every penny to the discerning automobile connoisseur.
Jaguar had Italian levels of inside and out styling for many years. For style and looks, Jaguar bettered Mercedes, BMW and Lexus. Pity, more didn't recognize how good Jaguar cars were when in British hands. Fantastic. The latest model looks like a Mondeo. In fairness, they have created perfection with the F Type and the SUV's are not bad.
It's not a wood veneer. It's real wood, original FIGURED WALNUT TENEER. All parts were made by the most prominent professionals and experts, on request. Also chrome elements were made on request - by galvanization.
I remember when Vanden Plas was (briefly) a marque in its own right, elevated from just the luxury end of Austins. Alas, our socialist trades unions killed our motor industry. Jaguar is one of the few that escaped.
