In sea of BMW, Mercedes-benz and Audi this comes refreshing and more beautiful.

This is the car that brings a smile to your face like the 3 series BMW's of the mid to late 90's used to. BMW has lost the plot. The XE has a better suspension, superior handling and great feel. The Jaguar XE is now the ultimate driving machine. If i am not mistaken this has a 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty. So the cost of ownership is greatly reduced.

The Giulia is, in fact, the ultimate driving machine of the class.

@@betterbeavailable I really wanted to like the Alfa as I've always wanted one and came VERY close to buying the 159 some years ago. I test drove the Giulia and it was great to drive, but not better than the XF I bought. The interior fit and finish also leaves a lot to be desired which was the deal breaker for me. Family hatchback quality for a car costing upwards of 40 grand? No thanks.

I recommend using a pop filter for your microphone when reading stuff outside of the camera. Those P's and B's of yours really explode in headphones. Otherwise a nice review of a very cool car.

Bought my 2017 Jaguar XE 35t with V6 supercharged 340 engine. Love the drive, all I’ve wanted in a vehicle that isn’t common in Canada in comparison to Audi, Mercedes and BMW’s. wish I had the pro infotainment unit but will over time change that out

as I'm not supposed to go for any product, just coz it's British, so I still pick a 3 series against an XE all day, everyday!

I can't believe he referred to the interior as spacious. Also, why not compare this against its most likely competitor the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Lastly people need to stop referring to Audi when referring to BMW and Mercedes. Audi sedan sales trail in comparison.

Ive driven a few XE's extensively now, and they are superb to drive and I found them comfortable, but ultimately find them flawed with sub par boot, rear passenger space and interior quality. I'm sure that the next gen XE will be a big step up. Not parting with my 320...yet!!
@timand859
@timand859 7 лет назад
19Lion8 the three series interior is not what it used to be however still a step up on the xe.
@wakeupandsmellthecoffeetod9582
My 330i MSport rattles around the doorframe from new...with teflon tapes the problem was solved. The XE is more driver oriented even compared to BMW F30...and that's a great thing...however the major flaw is the rear seat space...my goodness...i am only 172cm tall and i could not sit at the back properly. The legroom is so tight and the center tunnel is massive. Bear in mind that the XE is not actually a small car...it's bigger in both length and width compared to F30 3 series...yet the interior space is no better tham a 4.47meters long E46 3 series.

maddening that it isn't a hatchback. That small boot rules it out for me.
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 Год назад
XF Sportbrake (estate) version fills the gap. This isn't meant to be and wouldn't work as a hatchback, but if you need a bigger boot go for the XF. It's huge and you can fold the rear seats.

@severnsea

Sorry, but I think it is the best in class. If you point-score everything on an out of ten type basis and give lower scores for boot and rear space etc. then add up the points, it's rivals will score more - but that's not important to the vast majoirty of buyers, who put driving dynamics well above those other features. On that basis almost everybody agrees that the XE has the best driving dynamics, comfort (outside of the sports models but that's the same with most rivals), and so on. This car has the character that BMW lost years ago, if they ever had it. I liked the 3 series I had a few years ago but never enjoyed it in the way I enjoy driving this. The sad thing is we have a fantastic British car for the first time in years and you lot are putting buyers off for the wrong reasons. I think you're all scared of being the first to stick your neck out and say it.
@gianniverschueren870
@gianniverschueren870 Год назад
Practicality matters, and it definitely isn't more comfortable than its direct rivals from Germany. You pick the Jaguar if you're looking for the best driving experience and looks, but as a daily, it simply falls short to the opposition. Most buyers want the total package, and ultimately you're not hitting those twisty roads where the Jaguar shines anywhere near enough.
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 Год назад
@@gianniverschueren870 What you should make clear is that's an opinion, not a fact. Comfort, like many other things, depends on the user. I have back problems and I find it far more comfortable than the 5 Series, in fact than any German car I've driven. German cars tend to have harder seats for whatever reason. You don't seem to be sure what you want, you say people pick the driver for the best driving experience then claim it doesn't shine on the twisty roads (it does, and does it better than the alternate choices in the opinion of most owners). The car will handle any twisty roads as well as anything else out there, in fact the driver's capabilities will most likely reach their capabilities long before the cars do, and many owners buy them for their excellent handling. As a daily driver most owners (myself included) want performance, comfort and quality and several Jaguar models fit the bill, so much so that many owners are happy to go back and buy another Jag, and another, and another, and most of us have driven every competitor out there. Absolutely nothing lacking at all, it's just the media hype that gives people that impression, for example people saying they're unreliable because they read what somebody else said. Somebody saying they're not comfortable who has never sat in one, and so on. But don't take my word for it, the comments from owners on this and any other thread will tell you the reality.
@gianniverschueren870
@gianniverschueren870 Год назад
@@severnsea3924 I know reading comprehension can be tricky, because I stated the twisty roads is exactly where the car shines, but unfortunately that's not where most people spend most their time driving. And for the record, I owned this car for 4 years. Absolutely loved it. Recently switched to the Skoda Octavia RS because I was in need of more practicality.
@severnsea3924
@severnsea3924 Год назад
@@gianniverschueren870 Not so much reading comprehension but the way you worded it, but it's not relevant. Why? Because those who buy a cabriolet or a car with a sunroof don't spend most of their time with the roof down/open. People who buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini don't spend most of their time driving them at 180mph. Those who buy a 7 seat people carrier don't spend most of their time driving around with their family. To say it falls short is an opinion, not a fact. Everybody has different opinions on different aspects of whatever car they happen to drive. All I can say is that according to the Jaguar owners forums (and there are several of them), most people are happy with the models they own and most would buy another. I've owned BMWs and Mercedes, I've driven Audis and Maseratis, and in my opinion there's nothing to beat the XF as a great all rounder. It's a fantastic cruiser, superb on the back roads, as comfortable as I need it to be, has a huge boot and folding back seats, I genuinely cannot fault it. Most of the dissenters have never even sat in one.

There is nothing more drab than the interior of a BMW! Standard 6 buttons and a few bits of dash and consol is discusting and all the same. Audi is a bit better but still not a oatch Merc is nice but expensive for what you get Jag is just stunning!

I had an early Petrol Portfolio XE. Undoubtedly the worst car I have had in the past 15 years. Poorly finished, with some glaring interior design issues. Drove well, but so happy to get rid of it after 10 months and upgraded to a Skoda Superb, a MUCH better car all round.
