Thank you for this. I played this last week and the graphics were not as I remember. Sometimes its best not to go back. It was a great game at the time though.
My favourite racing game, I've always loved it, more accomplished than the Lotus Estprit series. A real championship, strategy to choose your races and repairs. The only flaw is that the music is still in 4 tracks whereas the demo had 3 tracks to have the sound effects at the same time
Oh, interesting, I didn't know that about the demo. I'd certainly have preferred to have the sound effects at the same time (although at least 4 tracks, no sound effects is better than dropping a channel out when sound effects happen, not that that would have worked with the constant engine noise). I'll have to give the demo a go to see the differences.
I used to play this there was a cheat is use the radio and it goes faster. play a cd is play a cd then hit the radio button and exit to game and you drive with the cd playing but it will still go faster
1:16 - Mark "Mac" Avory is now known as Sarah Jane Avory and Sarah is an absolutely stellar developer of retro games to this day. Sarah's modern shooters and RPGs on C64 are bloody excellent. Neutron, Zeta Wing, Soul Force, & Briley Witch Chronicles etc.
