Fun fact, Ophanimon's helmet references literal angel descriptions, on the sides and back it has a lion, eagle, and an ox face, with the face you talk to being the human one. Her shoulder armor is also made of spoked wheels, referencing the flaming multi-eyed "Ophanim" that carry God's chariot. She's not just an angel, she's LITERALLY a Biblically accurate Angel straight from the book! ... Except, you know, a waifu instead of a floating mass of features or a flying wheel of fire. But screw it, they definitely got some good references in for it. Can't wait for Jaidn to take on the post game where she'll have to fight the literal Beast of Revelations, Lucemon SATAN MODE!
Well to be fair she dint do her research well enough to know that charmon keeps dying in the tournament has consequences. That being its friendship will be low enough for it to disobey you thats the only time digimons disobey orders its not the level of charmon its the friendship going below normal is when they dont follow commands charmon died like twice in the tournament that lowered its friendship so jaiden had to wait till the friendship went back up for charmon to actually obey commands.
Well charmon would have been her early powerhouse once it obeyed since it would be the highest level on her team and raising friendship takes a bit but not too long so long as it dosent keep dying
@@justanotherperson2939 by so post, im guessing you mean 'supposed'? ^^♡ But yeah, with the straight forward pokemon games, digimon mechanics and mazes challenge the other's. Just a franchise difference i guess
@@dustgraystone9448 Have You even played this game? This game made You grind for It to enjoy. And don't even get Me started on the de-digivolve mechanic.
To be fair its hard to nuzlocke this cause the way you would go about catching it is different i saw someone did a nuzlocke on this and the way they did it is they only convert the first digimon that hits 100 percent scan data on the first map the transfield being an exception since its mutiple map in one what they did was they get to 100 a data everytime transfield changes area.
As long as I live I don't think I'll ever stop loving Digimon designs. They're like if you told a 14-year-old to design the most metal thing he can think of, he goes and just overdraws the heck out of it, and yet the end result is still somehow legitimately cool.
Look at Jaiden, trying to be the best Digi-mom she can be. Jadien talking to her digimon is like a parent trying to handle all of their children at once
Thou she fails she dint even fully evolve her charmon which made that final fight harder than it should be and shes not even gonna do the post game which is even harder since gaia origins is a boss rush type of battle. She dint even raise her tamer rank cause its optional but would have made her get some specific s exp easier.
I just wanna say that I’m legitimately impressed Jaiden managed to beat the main story in a completely accidental no-capture no-gear no-degeneration run. She just took the starter pack and went all the way with it. Having played Dusk, that’s no mean feat - many of the later battles chew through your party like Growlmon at a buffet. I do feel bad that it seems like this has completely turned her off Digimon, since she basically went straight into a fairly difficult challenge run.
omg i keep seeing bots everywhere it’s so annoying i try to report them but they keep returning it makes me think of how many bots there actually are on youtube
@@jaidenanimations not sure if you've found out (or read my other comment) but the only way to get other/new digimon is by scanning their data at the start of each battle (which is the percentage you see when the digimon spawns in). after it gets at least 100% you can turn the data into a digimon at your home pc. i'm glad you chose Dawn as your first digimon game as it's so far my favorite of the bunch, though having no prior experience with the franchise doesn't do you any favors XD it kinda expects you to know certain stuff and isn't newbie friendly.
Yeah, Digimon is sadly victim of the "Blind idiot translation" from time to time, as well as Inconsistent mistranslations, like the whole Night Claw being Translated as Night Crow thing in this game, World Data Squad referring to the Demon lords as Mao Digimon (both a Mistranslation and Untranslation of Maõ), Next Order pronouncing Dramon as Dray-Mon, and how they can't make up their mind on if they want to use Omnimon's English or Japanese name for the games.
@@StarlightMagician My favorite mistranstlation is how in Cyber Sleuth everytime someone says "monster" (which is "bakemon" in japanese) the translators tought they were refering to the digimon "Bakemon"
that's a lot of monster collection games in general. It's not anywhere near as bad for SMT, but things going horribly wrong because of people not knowing what they're doing is practically the sole factor of the series' reputation as being brutally difficult.
Charmon did not deserve it cause its not his fault that he keeps dying at the tournament which leads to him loosing friendship and starts disobeying orders which on jaidens defence she dosent know about friendship affects wheather or not a digimon will obey you theres no level caps and gym badges for a mon to obey (theres no trading either but theres breeding to get a guilmon in dusk you need to breed one in dawn while dusk is connected to dawn etc.
@@KingVasuki lol charmon be playing digimon dusk cause jaiden might have appreciated night crow/ night claw a whole lot more since they have a lotta edgy digimons in there. Even jaiden admitted she played the wrong version when she saw Sayo's team at the start.
I checked the immediate digivolutions and it's pretty hilarious that one side gives Patamon (famous for evolving into Angemon), and the three others are birds... One of which being a parrot! Sinner indeed.
Abridged Tokomon: “salvation lays at the crossroad between destruction and desecration. Set fire to this material hell. Let us lay waste to these sinners, our salvation is murder”
I just realized that Jaidn kept running from battles cuz she hit level cap and never realized you're supposed to de-digivolve back and forth to raise stats and level caps And also only used the three starters LMAO
@@shytendeakatamanoir9740 it's alot more intuitive in the classical digimon format, where your digimon die of old age, and get reincarnate as an egg, with mega buffed stat growth.
Too bad renamon aint electric lol so just cause its yellow its automatic pikachu like a weird way to compare renamon to a pokemon lucario was fine but pikachu????
Throwaway line not a plot point. But an incredible iconic line for sure. Plot point would be if his having pants was something with a significant impact on the plot like having a mcguffin in his pocket or something.
Watching this has made me realise that Dawn and Dusk might actually be the least beginner friendly of the good Digimon games. It's the most grindy Digimon game period, it's the sequel to a game that is obviously meant to be played first, the combat system is convoluted and all the cool mechanics need prior Digimon knowledge like DNA digivolution to use properly.
@@bagmanl5885having rebought a copy of this game this was the case for me. I literally can't justify the post game grind as much as I want to see more cool digimon
You know, Jaiden, if you really want to learn about Digimon and get the full experience of the franchise, then I recommend that you start by watching the anime. That's how I learned everything I know about Digimon, as it was a huge part of my childhood. I'd start off with Digimon Adventure 01, if I were you.
Yeah, unlike Pokémon, digimon survived mostly because of how good some of its animes were. There is some absolute trash even there, but they’re all at the very least somewhat standalone so you can at least only focus on the good series and ignore the rest… if she actually does watch some of them, how should we handle explaining xros?
@@gameb9oy I dunno. I don't even know how she'll react to Frontier. I personally liked Frontier, the whole kids becoming Digimon and doing the fighting was a nice change of pace for me.
@@lordcooler1703 frontier is often considered one of the weaker entries, along with data squad/savers, S2 of adventure, and arguably the third part of xros if we count it as it’s own show. Frontier is probably one of the better of the listed ones, but while I do like the transformations, I honestly think something is lost by not having digimon partners in the show, and no those two annoying side characters that don’t fight don’t count
As someone who genuinely likes most of the Digimon games I've played, they all have some kind of jank. It ultimately comes down to what kind of jank you find entertaining.
Dawn and Dusk is a hard entry to get started this is her main issue she picked the wrong game to start with even a lot of digimon content creators would tell her to pick games other than this one one being by Karn ex saying she could have started with the digimon adventure on the psp digimon world 3 is fine starter too just the issue of back tracking too much. Jaiden even admitted she started with the wrong game and should have picked cyber sleuth instead maybe next time jaiden actually starts cyber slueth.
@@scarletrose8766 Honestly, I do agree that Dawn and Dusk are rough as an entry point. Even Digimon World DS would have been a much better choice because that at least tutorializes all the things that Dawn and Dusk expect you to just know.
@@zoeyvalkyrie i do love dusk but oh man its not for people whos new to digimons specially those who dont like grinding too much im just obssesed with grinding that i have several max stats digimons and it took me a whopping 180hrs. Cause oh boy when i got my DS i played it more than i played pokemon white.
This was my first entry actually, but since I was a huge fan of the anime and was really into pokemon and other old turn based RPGs, it wasn't a bad experience at all, since I really liked the lore and designs, but the levels being like fucking mazes it's definitely the worst thing in the game.
Pretty cool to see Jaiden basically having this second channel be full blown gaming, while the main is a mix of animation and gaming! Really love the content!
In this game, you HAVE to take Megidramon first, it's one of Dukemon's digivolution requirements. Seems from the clips Jaiden never figured out that you can de-digivolve, so that's just where the evolution line ended for our dear TONYTIGR. Speaking of endings-- the Digital World's is next
Well jaiden said shes an edgy girl which she could have definitely chosen dusk instead of dawn cause dusk has more edgy exclusive digimons. Like beelzemon Blast mode (but hes very late game like end of end game unless your doing legendary tamer quest)
As a fan of these games , all I could think about while watching this was that she never added anyone to her team and played the whole game with the starting 3. Quite impressive honestly
Technically you only need the 3 unless you dont want any of your starters you wont need other digimons i have sub only cause i dint wanna go back and heal then start on the starting point each time my team ran out of MP and i have no more mp chips. In this case Digimins.
Having 3 digimons dosent neccessarily hard mode i used 6 but majority of the time i only used 3 of them my subs only been used a couple of times when i ran out of mp and items to restore my mp until they level back up. Then back to my main three digimons. Or alternatively i can just go home and heal buy items and go back again.
watching this makes me realize how important having my brother explain things to me was when I started playing digimon as a kid. a couple pointers if Jaidens video inspires people to try digimon. Digimon have a low power ceiling, but you can raise it by digivolving and dedigivolving them. So its not like pokemon where a stage 2 is almost always gonna beat a stage 1. In digimon a rookie tier, who has been to higher tiers like champion or ultimate, can beat a digimon who went straight to mega.
Also, I'm shocked she hasn't convert her scan data for more digimon partners. That's how you get more Digimon. You have to get 100% scan data of a certain Digimon and convert that data at the digi-lab to get that Digimon as your partner.
@@DirectorOfChaos9292 she just rushes through the game and expects it to end. Doesn't read or explore. She's doing that Alpharad thing where they don't actually play the game or see what it has in store then get surprised that they don't understand it
@@HazeEmry I don’t think that the main reason why, maybe because since the game was very bored and tedious for her, it made her tune out most of the important tutorial or want to finish the game faster since it was not fun for her. Heck I can’t blame her, if I play a very boring and tedious game my brain will tune out on the most of the important stuff, I’m pretty almost everyone could relate to that.
btw, since it seems like these systems didn't get discovered posting just in case someone else wants to give these games a shot whenever you encounter a digimon in the wild, you get a certain scan percentage. The stronger the digimon, the less scan percentage you get. Once you get 100% scan or higher, you can summon that digimon via one of the PC's in your home (one of the reasons for the high encounter rate. If you only get 5% scan off of one encounter, then you'd need to encounter that digimon 20 times to be able to get one yourself. So high encounter rate = less time grinding. Not saying that it is a good system, but there is a modicum of thought behind it) You can have a total of 6 digimon with you, 3 active and 3 backup, and you can switch out your active digimon during combat using one of your turns. This also ties into the positioning mechanics in which adjacent digimon give each other some stat buffs, but their positioning may make them more susceptible to attacks that hit multiple columns if you go to the digimon screen from the start menu, when you select a digimon there should be an equip submenu which will allow you to equip up to three equipment on your digimon. It has been awhile since I played Dawn/Dusk, so this submenu might be under items instead.
jaiden is more believable than ever because in neither comment section have I seen a comment that says “oh this was a poor choice for a first game, ______ is much more beginner friendly,” only the occasional “haha I remember being stuck in the dungeon 5 days straight when I was a kid and getting so frustrated I drew it out on paper :)” or “you should try this other digimon game! it’s even worse but I love it haha!!”
some clarification, when you digivolve/de-digivolve your digimon, part of their stats carry over. in Cyber Sleuth they used something similar to pokemon where every digimon has a base stat minimum. this makes certain digimon better then others (unlike Dawn where any digimon can be usefull depending on the moves you've taught it). also not sure if you figured this out, but the only way to get other digimon is by encountering them and scanning their data. which half explains why the encounter rate is so high. not why there's no way to prevent this.
This isn't easily explained, and is still frustrating when you're used to direct level grinding. It threw me off playing Digimon World 2 and having to de-digivolve a lot to get good or favorite mons.
I love how she beat the game with megidramon, who is basically the embodiment of evil and literally is meant to bring destruction to the digital world simply by existing lol.
I grew up on Digimon instead of Pokemon. So Dusk was the game I played like CRAZY as a kid. I still have my copy and I went nuts with it trying to get absolutely everything in it. I adore this franchise so much
I play Dusk a lot too! It's the game that taught me that Dusk isn't spelled Dust lol. I grew up with all of the monster collecting games, so I'm really happy now that Monster Rancher and Digimon are finally getting on their feet again!
Not all of them in digimon tamers they die and turn into data if the data is left alone they go back to the forest of beginning and becomes an egg however if a digimon dies and another digimon absorbs thier data that digimon isint gonna come back its dead dead.
Even without seeing the video, I begin to feel nostalgic about this game--or rather, its Dusk counterpart. I have fond memories of playing this game some 12 years ago.
I played Dusk when I was a kid, got stuck, and never beat it. I came back to it after college and barely beat the game with my sanity in tact. I still love these games, though.
Yggdrsil and Ymir are from Norse Mythology. Ymir was the first giant/god/titan and Yggdrasil is the giant tree of life that holds the nine realms together.
11:23 "Jaidn got D-Word" will be remembered as one of the moments of all time in The Jaiden2 Channel. It will also probably get memed to death by the internet and also get uncomfortably "visualized" in great detail by her very hardcore "fans" over on the Sapphire and Emerald site.
I wonder how upset Jaiden would be if she learned that all the grinding she did, actually allowed her to get even more Digimon to use and evolve. I know she would have stayed true to her team, but to learn that she could have 'caught' more Digimon, lol.
There's something magical watching the story telling a week or so before watching the gameplay. Forgetting some of the pain made it that much spicier, seeing it second-hand over third.
Ahh, god old memories, this (Dusk version) was my first English game I ever played (I'm German), so it helped me a lot to deepen my understanding of the language and made me realize that I love grinding as long as I can do it with my Digimon. xD
Shes playing the sister game of dusk being dawn. Imma Dusk person myself i have an obsession with it cause my 180hrs. In the game wont lie. Thats just me maxing out stats cause i have nothing better to do i finished the every main quest i can do the farm side quest but too lazy to do them.
The farm is my favorite part of the game, tbh. I spent so much time just idling on the farm while working or reading or something and checking in to manage my babies. So I never felt much need to grind, although I guess thats because I was grinding without paying attention, lol. Same playstyle carried me through CyberSleuth too.
This is a good game but not perfect even cyber sleuth which is the upgrade to dawn and dusk isint perfect but yeah. Dawn and Dusk just have the issue of being too grindy and lack of map put those aside its good.
Ah, the suffering. I remember it well. Fun fact, you're underestimating the grinding in this game. You're supposed to digivolve them DOWN too so you can digivolve them back UP to make them stronger And yeah, the Lucario Pikachu is called "Renamon." The internet likes her very much
Except dedigivolving makes the next evolution happen... faster. And you level up faster. And get stronger faster. So it's actually LESS grind if you go up and down instead of just... butting your head against the wall forcing more levels
@@TheSapphireLeo still dunno why pikachu is it cause its yellow??? I get the popular part pikachu and renamon are popular same with lucario but once you see the evolution you can easily compare it to ninetails.
