A medical assistant accused of trying to smuggle drugs into the Fulton County Jail is on the run. The Fulton County sheriff says TeQuera Ford faces several felony charges.

As a former correctional officer in the Saint Louis area, this is more common than we want to admit. It recently happened at one of the city jails in St.Louis. These young girls get caught up with these inmates, and before you know it they got her bringing in contraband.

Unless, in the past the guards were not checking her. 😒 Sounds like all the staff at that facility need to be investigated. For a new employee to think they would get away with drug dealing in a prison means there is a lot of corruption within the staff.

Well to be fair it’s more like the money ruined her. You do this not because you were convinced by some criminal but because that itch for easy money got to you. I mean I’m sure some convict probably spun her a good story, made her feel like this was going to be an easy low risk payday. End of the day though it’s the thought of a few thousand dollars with little effort that gets people to override their common sense.

If you are going to do this. Don't smoke weed before coming into work and last but not least know the person that's doing the security screening. I'm not a smuggler but that's common sense. This way if the screener is new or somebody you don't know. Turn around and try again another time. Sloppy

Most of the drugs are brought into these facilities by employees. This is common. Anyone with a family member on the inside (especially in TN) knows just how bad the drug problem is behind prison walls.

I used to sell furniture and I had a good customer that was a C.O. I knew how he got his money without me even asking. This is how they all bring in that extra money. This isn't a secret or new to anyone. Drugs pay more on the inside than on the outside.
