It’s crazy to think this was considered to be super “edgy” back in the day. The concept of convicts being the main focus/protagonists and Elvis’s moves were met with controversy. But it didn’t matter, because just like a lot of his music, the song was a big success, and it overshadowed all of the controversy. In fact, Jailhouse Rock stayed at number 1 on the US Billboard for seven straight weeks! Elvis was INSANELY ahead of his time, and changed popular culture forever! His influence still lives on even in 2024 :D
