But the Heat scouts have missed many times in the past. Examples: Norris Cole, Justice Winslow, Precious Achiuwa and the jury is still out on Nikola Jovic. They bypassed Tyrese Maxey and Devin Booker in those drafts.
@@rodb3653justice had injures but was a awesome player and Norris Cole had a decent nba career and precious is turning into a beast and if you watch the games you see improvement in niko he’s getting more post ups and rebounds spo is smart there’s no way you should be 6’11 and average 4 rebounds spo is making him get good at things he don’t know how to do and he’s only 20 and honestly at center he could be better than Joel embid he has college weight right now he gonna get another 30lbs of muscles and build confidence by the time he 23 like Tyler he’ll be a nice piece by the time he’s 27 he’ll be better than Joel. Couldn’t let you get on my he like that lol all love brotha 🤝 and btw justice winslow played in a G league and had a nice game he’ll be back in the league but I wouldn’t call them misses they just wasn’t for us they all had great potential to be at least a all star other than Norris Cole so scouting department doing they job better than any other franchises
As a sophomore at UCLA Jaime became the glue for a UCLA team that went to the final four. They were possibly the best team in the nation last year, but key injuries to two starters had them losing to Gonzaga on a last second shot. Jaquez was the go to player for UCLA and is a hybrid who can defend 1 to 4, play the point, and does all the little things, playing smart basketball that wins ballgames. He was Pac 12 player of the year for a reason. Scouts missed his upside in terms of ball handling, defending, savvy, and just a great team player.
I like his game and his mentality. He doesn’t get nervous plays at his own speed, doesn’t let the defense speed him up and cause him problems. My most favorite thing though is he always seems to make the correct play. Has a nose for the ball. The heat got them a jewel in the rough. I’m looking forward to see how much better he will be in 3-4 years!
Not common to see a rookie with chess moves. Seemless transition from college to the pro's and appears to be a centerpiece and catalyst for the franchise in the making. He has IT...
He's so jacked every minute he's on the court. When he missed FTs I always thot that he couldn't slow down enough at the line. If u watch him when the other team is at the line & he's waiting to rebound, he can't stand still. Continually shifting weight from one leg to the other, same when he's standing around in a huddle. Clearly THE MAN
Best thing about him is age. 4 years under rookie contract. 5 year extension afterwards. He will be 31 after that. So heat gets the best value out of him.
@@064razor Scoot is going to be a bust. Drafting a G-League player with a lottery pick is always risky. Nikola Jovic always puts up serious number when Miami sends him to the G-League. When he's back in Miami, he rarely plays.
Honestly, you left out the single most important thing. He is 22 years old and played 4 years of college basketball. This fact makes him slightly less impressive, but also explains his skill set a bit more. Typically players with star power leave college/overseas after a year and play in the NBA at 19 (it would be sooner, but that is not allowed anymore) , so it is not surprising that they lack fundamentals and have holes in their game. 21 and 22 year old rookies are going to be way more polished, and may produce at a high level right away if their skill set ends up being that of a player that typically joins the NBA earlier. He is 6 months older than Anthony Edwards, for example. Look at the difference between a 22 year old Anthony Edwards and the 19 year old version we saw three years ago. They are not the same player, at all.
Same time he’s only 22 already polished AND going to the best developing team in the league. He’s gonna be a really good player for a long time at a minimum
@@SRT_DRE trade for someone for sure if I’m the heat I’d target someone like a Tyus jones bones hyland quickly maybe even a Malcom brag from the blazers that’s my personal favorite option right there
There really was never an offer because according to Ira Winderman who's covered the Heat since day 1, Joe Cronin never picked up the phone when Miami called. He was hellbent on not giving Dame what he asked for which was to go to Miami.
This guy is called to be one of the greatest; it resembles me slightly to MJ; if he maintains/improves his level, for sure this season Miami Heat will reach the playoffs; having the right training and getting the right teammates Miami Heat will lead the league for the next years.
