Additional CP Bajrang Singh spoke on the incident relating to Jaipur where a US citizen named ‘Cherish’ was duped by a jeweller for paying Rs 6 crore for a stone which originally cost Rs 300. "...She was in a business of diamond and gold jewellery with Gaurav Soni and his father Rajender Soni. This February-March, she set up an exhibition in the US. When the jewellery was being checked there, she got a few of those pieces checked. She came to know that the Gold turned out to be 9 carat when the hallmark paper mentioned the same to be 14 carat. The Diamond turned out to be Moissanite. She came to the firm and requested them to change the jewellery but to no avail. She warned them of a Police case against them but they tried to stop her. They sent the video of them stopping her to Police alleging that a woman of foreign nationality had looted their shop.
