@@definzgoody5448bruh, we dont see jakarta for the native culture, no disrespect, but a lot of tourists are trynna find the modern things from Jakarta.
Great vid of Jakarta! The city looks really clean, efficient and friendly locals. That band was really good and a gorgeous background of the city. Happy Thanksgiving from Canada! Look forward to more Indo videos!
Jakarta has modernized since I was there in the late 80's; used to shop Sarinah...floors are Russian designed, where they make you walk around to each connecting level.
Great video, what a place Jakarta look's to be! It's somewhere I've never thought of going, so I'm looking forward to this series and learning more about it and Indonesia in general!
I had always stayed at Grand Hyatt on my previous trips. I'm glad to see plenty of new hotels entering the market charging much less per night. Jakarta is changing rapidly - the SKYE Bar was a novelty when it opened. Now the whole city has trendy restaurants and night clubs. I'm really looking forward to your upcoming videos.
28:14 if that's how young jakarta people enjoy their night, well i must say their life was so simple and healthy yet full of happiness.. never seen that kind of lifestyle before, not to mention they are the youngsters of the capital city of indonesia, one of the most populated city in the world as well
Happy to see you getting another cool sponsor. It just got chilly here in Ontario this weekend and I'm more jealous than ever to see you in beautiful Indonesia, wishing you a happy thanksgiving from Toronto!
Luvin’ this series STL, it is a grand side trip! The parts of Indonesia, the food, stores, transport, and quality entertainment you’ve showed are world class, to me. I also appreciate the translator information you shared. It looks SO EASY to use and NOT SO EASY to lose thanks to the included neck lanyard. If I am being honest…a neck basket would help me more ha ha! Excited for what’s to come.
Thanks for watching! Jakarta is a blend of world class & traditional both with great buzz and energy. Will also be seeing 'classic' Jakarta in next vid. STL
Outstanding video STL…. The picture quality looked awesome on our Sony TV and although we will be visiting Thailand in the near term, it was great to see this wonderful city as well. I also must say, you are not a “look at me” camera ham like many RU-vidrs as we only occasionally get a quick glimpse of you in a mirror somewhere…. classy video as usual , thank you !( from Western Mass USA)
New subscriber and because of this video not only did I book a flight to Jakarta (instead of Bangkok) but I booked the same hotel (101) because it looked great value for money. December is going to be fun, Jakarta, then Kuching, then Miri and then Brunei before returning to Johor.
I just ordered the T1 Mini. Headed to Thailand the first of November. Pretty sure that's going to be one of my most important purchases for the trip, especially since my COPD respiratory condition makes it hard for me to be understood, anyway! Thanks for your demonstration of it, and the link to purchase. Great video, too! Jakarta is amazing!
hi matey,,,,Jakarta and a few other places in Indonesia was on my list for my second trip next year,,,i,v been planning a trip to Egypt,Jordan and Israel, first,, looks like thats not going to happen for a while now,, Damm!!,, Jakarta looks really kool,, cant wait to check it out,, thanks for the vid,, cheers 🙏
What a fantastic video 👍 I really enjoyed this and especially that band who did a outstanding job of some queen renditions as I'm a massive fan and have every single album 😀 I can't seem to take the smile off my face 😊
Note the singer even had Freddie's 'hey hey hey' hook, just a great effort really enjoyed, was smiling out loud watching it live! Loved Freddie and also Brian May phenomenal, one of my fav Queen songs from the B side of best friend: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kE8kGMfXaFU.htmlsi=vVE_-vWVwkN04m9X&t=40
Wow..... What a great video STL..... The Sky bar was worth every penny...... Looks like a really good place for a night out...... I used to Love a "Wendy`s" burger when I lived in Belleville Ontario...... Very tasty, but not as tasty as the Waitress.... lol.... Happy Days...... Never tried a "Denny`s" but the Menu looked right up my street..... Stop losing things Dude..... What is the matter with you??? :-))))
Thanks but not sure about that... Other youtubers just film 20 mins in a Jakarta Mcdonalds, or a simple 'street food challenge' and get WAY more views.... (gotta step up my game lol;)
Hi there! I've been watching your videos for quite a while now and I always enjoy them. This is my first time leaving a comment. This video was absolutely 💯 🔥!!! I plan on retiring in the next few years and I like to watch your channel as well as others to help with my planning. This video makes me want to quit my job tomorrow 😆. Thank you for producing such great content and I look forward to watching your next adventure!
Dress elegant, “I hope they let me in.” Huge chuckle on that one. Another fascinating and exciting area….definitely OTT and prices of the street food. WOW!! I’ve never seen anything quite like these malls on these islands either, simply amazing. That translation device seems bomb too. Looking forward to more of your awesome content🙃
Indonesian people is very friendly people anywhere you go they always say hello to you. Smile to you. By the way, I’m Indonesian, but I live in Hilo Hawaii USA thanks for coming to visit my country Indonesia greeting from Hawaii.
Wow .great vid ,now i want to go there (I guess that meams youre doing your job yeah?) Seems like nice people too. Got a great vibe from this ....Queen band pretty good , humm can i afford to go ? Soon....hahaha
LOVE travelling in Indonesia, wonderful people and so varied from Volcanic lakes (see my Toba vid;) Orangutan trekking (see my Bukit Lawang vid) to amazing beaches (see my Lombok vid;) but the BEST beaches are upcoming in this series! STL
Grand Indonesia, Central Park and Taman Anggrek are the most beautiful malls, in my opinion. Whenever you've time, go pay "Shabu Hachi" a visit. The best one is in Bandung, as it's cosy, and I know the manager well, but the ones in Jakarta are okay, too, just a bit impersonal.
Another awesome video! I always enjoy watching til the very end! Can’t wait for the next one. I’ve learned so much from you and am looking forward to traveling. You help us understand what to expect. Happy travels!!! Ohhh tropical island?!?!?
you should go to TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) explore the location and stay until night to see the water laser new show also go to PIK PIK2 ad Aloha beach it is all in the same area and watch the sunset.
Would hate to lose my 3 yr ol limited edition android phone (don't make em anymore & my main cam;) ZEISS optics, builtin 3 axis gimbal, practically sees in the dark, still better video and way cheaper than latest iPhone, it's the GOAT!
Hiya. STL. I watch every video. Your breakfast looked delicious. I love your sponsor. Great gadget. Very useful. Earthquake. Scary. Shame on the airline for ghosting you. Everyone is so lovely. But I have never heard you be anything but polite. Always happy and friendly, never rude. That translator is a great gadget. The train was lovely and clean. Your videos are always so informative. Nice bikes. Lovely malls. The second sky bar had great vibes. Great band. Swallowed a cat. 555. You are not wrong there. 😆🤣🤣 I love Queen as well. The views from the restaurant are insane. All your series are great. How Lovely that you got your mobile back. Shame about your GoPro. That gadget definitely seems worth it. Great video. Love the longer ones. Happy Tuesday. Have a wonderful week.
Wow Nicky, you REALLY watched all! In between doing your own videos and super-mod duties no idea how you find the time but thanks as always for watching & commenting, MUCH appreciated :) STL
@@SideTripLife You always have great energy. Positive. I love that. Enjoyed your videos for many years now. I might be a little behind watching, But I always fully watch your videos. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
If the Sky Bars don't lift your mood, perhaps try Jaya Pub (best honky tonk in SE Asia - see next vid). Failing that, I have a great day out at Old Batavia and the docks plus a beach escape close to Jakarta coming up...
Please and greetings to you my friend. I am from Jakarta, have a pleasant traveling in Jakarta and surrounding beautiful places in Indonesia 🇮🇩 have a wonderful trip and take care 😊😎✌️
Thx.The song in the intro is a from a wonderful old skool cool Betawi singer/actor named Bing Slamet. Wish I could've played the original but here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DTrbpC8Pawc.htmlsi=WpZRJqOZ_5pa522o&t=11 The cover by Payung Teduh is pretty cool also: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4dkkzRphaUk.htmlsi=TT7LlSGMtyYhirjQ&t=8 STL
I told you last video to watch out for earthquakes and voila…you didn’t disappoint. P.s. I stayed all the way until the end with your translator review
Thanks for the review on the translator. I decided to order it. I was confused cuz I thought that the code was working on the main website but then I realize it's an Amazon code. You can get 10% off with the factory and no shipping or tax charges but it's still more expensive than Amazon. At least when you have prime. I've used Google translate in Mexico and found it to be only okay even on the latest pixel phone. On my upcoming trip to Thailand this will be very handy. And it looks like you can add a Sim card later when the service runs out or just use Wi-Fi which can be a problem in some places. I'm enjoying the video. Both Indonesia and Malaysia are on my list of places to visit once I'm down in that area full-time.
Well they shipped it really fast through Amazon. So far I like it. It's small, has a USB C charging cord so compatible with my phone and seems to work well except for the photo translate. I didn't have good success with that but my lighting wasn't real good either. A feature they need to add is being able to delete certain phrases right now the only thing I saw was delete all. I was thinking that it would be nice to have some English to Thai phrases to use offline since they don't have a Thai database for offline yet. It took me awhile to figure out how to change the shortcut statement, and it seems you can only have one of those. Maybe add the ability for a few more? All in all it's a pretty neat package for the price. Thanks for the tip.
22:02 that's not the total price for apartment, but the monthly installment price, and it's 1.9m IDR, not billion, it usually takes 20 years for installment plan on property
@@SideTripLife Wow ,now I'm definitely gonna have to visit, even though my hearts still in Thailand. Have to check on a possible investment If there allow. Do you know? Thats just a year rental, basic 1bd on Maui.
Ohmy god... the 101 urban. 20 years ago I lived in this building. It was a serviced apartment called Take's Mansion. My office was at Wisma Antara (now demolished) behind the energy and mineral resources ministry building. I was.. oh i recognize the pool. Oh i know that stairs to the reception. I actually shrieked. I rarely take left turn at Kebon Sirih junction so i had no idea the serviced apt was converted into the 101
Annyeong haseyo/Selamat datang! Perhaps I can help solve this? QUOTE: "The flags for these two countries are almost identical-two horizontal stripes, red over white-but their dimensions differ; Indonesia's flag has a height-to-width ratio of 2:3, while Monaco's flag is 4:5" So, we all good here now, no intnl incidents I hope? (lol;) Terima kasih/Gamsahamnida Cheers! STL
Big thanks! (also for the loonies, when I'm back in BKK will get a double-double + maple bacon doughnut at Timmies eh ;) STL -Edit just googled annnd: "Coffee and Timbits, eh? Canada’s Tim Hortons coming to Indonesia in 2024" Woohoo!!!
Translated: "please explore the big Mall of Jakarta" - in an upcoming video I'll be looking at Mall Of Indonesia, plus condos, grocery shopping and more :) dalam video mendatang saya akan melihat Mall Of Indonesia, plus kondominium, belanja bahan makanan, dan banyak lagi :)
