Nice version. It's great to see Nick's music being loved by a new generation.

Reading some of the comments on here.....thank fuck RU-vid wasn't around years ago. The Beatles would have been castigated for not being as good as Elvis when they started out. And Elvis would have been destroyed for not writing his own songs. Kurt Cobain? Can you imagine what the keyboard guitar teachers would have made of his technique?Artists like Jake are so rare these days, just a young lad with a guitar and a genuine knowledge and affection for Nick Drake, Donavan, Don McLean, Robert Johnson. He doesn't want the limelight and he probably thought I know, I really love this song, I'm going to have a bash at it in my own style, and picked up the chords one morning......not knowing it would trigger a tsunami of haters and critics. In fact the avalanche of hate for anyone that does anything these days is truly fucking depressing.

Due to Drakes constant use of irregular tunings and cluster chords, covering Drake was no small task, so I really find this artist bold, as well as talented for his playing, no matter how far from original he was.

Great to see a young musician of our time, honouring one of the greatest folk artists.Jake did a fine job on this!

I've been watching some of Jake's cover songs and I saw many many hating and ridiculous comment about how Jake sang it. I have one big question, have you ever heard cover songs before? It's a cover, of course it HAS to be different from the original one because Jake covered it, not TRYING to be the original singers. Go check those cover singers on here, they sang with their own version, totally different with the original one and NO ONE complain about that, unlike some haters here. I meant, you make yourself look so freaking stupid with those ridiculous comment. Like, seriously.

I've just checked Nick Drake's original version, and I found it beautiful and peaceful. It gets me pissed to read people discussing if Jake's cover is better or not than the origina. And I think that covers were never about how better can you sound than the original version. It's all about how you interpreted a song and made it yours, in your own way. That's beautiful, that's the magic about art. Jake is such a genuine person, and he made this his own.

Oh wow, I didn't know covers must sound like the original. Some folks just have the need to always complain about something. This is an effin' COVER. It's Jake's own rendition/interpretation.

Well, he's not Nick Drake, but we all know that . I think this young man is pretty good. He showed this song some respect and did a nice version of it in his own way. Nothing wrong with that. I'm a huge Nick Drake fan and I liked it.

Can't get enough of this. Jake gives this a less stylistic rendition than Drake.. His vocals are clear and strong....and carries an innocence and boyish masculinity that endears you to him.

It`s not bad, but I recommend to watch Tobias Wilden`s (just some youtube guy, not a star) covers of Nick Drake songs. In before, I don`t know him personally, but they are too good to remain unknown for Drake fans.

Nick Drake played with finesse. His music was dynamic and full of intentional nuances that made his work as great as it is. This kid is just slamming the strings haphazardly.

Perhaps the greatest song ever written, and a fine, unique cover. Not much more need be said.

Am I the only person that doesn't understand all the acclaim that Jake Bugg receives. Yeah, okay, 'Lightning Bolt' was 'alright', but I haven't heard anything that is worthy of the constant praise and veneration everybody seems to be showering upon him.

What talent, voice and instrumentation!! I'm 67 and a lot to learn from this kid! What open tuning is this? With my arthritis I think I can tackle at least fragments of this being able to bar most of it. Also I play harmonica and wondering besides whatever tuning this is, wondering what key signature this is played in and what key of harmonica I should use.

Hey there Jake. Nice Job! To the others who wish to post negative, or some that are downright degrading, why? Curious, can you do a better version? I mean thats what this is right? A version of a great singer and songwriters song who died way way before he should have (well he did take his own life, but Im sure you understand my point.) I cover a few Drake songs, are my versions better than Nick Drakes? No, I can't say they are and I don't believe this gentleman "Jake" claims any different. "I have nothing against Jake, but have some respect" one person wrote, I beg to differ, simply by trying to cover the sang shows respect after all its not like Jake did a parody of Pink Moon like Weird Al Yankovich might have done. Give this kid a break, at the very least he is exposing a one of a kind artist (Nick Drake) to audiences who may never have the opportunity if he hadn't don his covers. Im sure we can all (at least most) agree the music from this period out ranks many of the artists (think Kanye) and its a great pleasure to know some of our youth are digging back into the roots of talent. Anyway, Im not trying to bag on all that are negative, just show this (and others) a little respect.

I find this song very cute, I mean, a pink moon? I don't know, I find that cute, or maybe it's just the way he sings it~

Beyond brilliant -- Jake transforms the song into an organic whole. By comparison, Drake's original (which I like a lot) lacks direction. Doubtlessly, you lose some of the characteristic atmosphere of that original here. But this is not meant to be a copy, and musically it's so breathtaking. I can listen to this twenty times in a row. Or forty.

Hahaha, the way his headphones are only on one ear. Also, I don't agree with a lot of people slating this version of this song. Obviously, Nick Drake's original is incredibly beautiful, but Jake does a good job here too. What a lot of you are forgetting is that this is a COVER version. Jake Bugg has a unique voice and style, and that's what he's employing here. He's not trying to be Nick Drake. Nobody would be foolish enough to try that. Instead, he's singing a Nick Drake song in a different style. Love it or hate it, but that's how it is. Personally, I think it's rather beautiful, but I'm not here to shove opinions down peoples' necks.
