Chris Sheppard Read the book Mastery by Robert Greene, what you're describing is a reoccurring theme which is being a Master of your craft. Kendrick Lamar, Jake Gyllenhaal, and any real artist out there undergoes a process and being aware of it is pretty beneficial and interesting I highly recommend it.

Man I love Jake as an actor but in the last month after watchin this interview and some other show I caught on tv for how big he is dude seems humble. He plays such diverse roles and he plays them so well that you forget you're watching a movie. He really brings his characters to life. It's amazing how committed he is to his roles.
