I don’t see how it could’ve possibly been necessary to shoot 2 follow up arrows into a deer on the ground but I also slit my first bucks throat so maybe I just handle things differently

Gosh I make this comment ever year, but I'll say it again. I enjoy watching this channel so much. I learn a ton watching. I'm always so impressed with the examples that you guys set. I hope every young hunter and novice hunter takes notes. You guys show so much respect to these animals and to each other and that's what it's all about. I remember a couple years ago watching Jake shoot a nice buck only to find him still alive in the middle of the night and have to wait on him to expire. The emotion that Jake showed that night gained all of my respect. Killing big bucks is fun but doing there's a way to do it right, and you guys certainly do that! Congratulations Jake!

I loved this video. The camaraderie of everyone assembling and getting just as excited as excited as Jake and Nick. In the end, when everyone is in the cabin. I thought I would be cracking a cold one. Off camera you hear the "snap* of the can open. Great video can't wait for the next one!

A little tip for my fellow Hunters I keep a few glow sticks in my pack from Walmart and you can leave one of them hanging on a tree nearby your deer!

Well done! I put down a doe about a week and a half ago. I spined her and dropped her where she stood, but I ended up needing 2 follow up shots from the tree to finish her off. I was feeling a bit down about needing follow up shots, so this is reassuring to see! Even the best hunters sometimes need a follow up or two. Congratulations Jake!

Guys congratulations. That deer hoist needs couple changes. Remove the block that is closest to the crank, remove the cable out of it. Hook that block to the part that you put the deer on. Then run the cable back through the top block down through the bottom block and back up to the beam.. That will create a block and fall system, it will work much better.

Glad I’ve got a video to watch. Y’all’s videos got me into hunting at 26 years old. After a few really bad knee surgeries and hunting helped pull me out of a bad place. I shot my first buck last night. I haven’t been able to recover it yet lol. But it was my first bow shot on a whitetail and hit. Learning more every time I’m out there and always leave with more wisdom and I have y’all to thank for that.

You guys are just awesome! One of my favorite episodes, for sure. The hunt, the buck, the recovery - just fantastic. But even more so, I loved seeing your camaraderie and brotherhood! I'd love to have a sniff of this for myself. With my wife having terminal pancreatic cancer and doing chemo and radiation the past 11mo, I just hope to get out bowhunting sometime soon. Also, my wife and I caught covid for the first time this week. Between being sick, cancer treatment visits and trying to keep our 5yr old son from getting sick, it's been a rough week. This video was just the shot of positivity that I needed. Thanks guys! Keep it up.

Absolute commitment to these magnificent animals on full display. It takes courage to show the follow-up shots here because some folks don't understand that this isn't just the best chance to get a deer. We see it as necessary, our duty, in fact. I've whispered to them, too. THP has no reason at all to see this, but I'll type it anyway. Yall should be proud.

Not only the easiest watch on the channel, but you did the right thing by putting the follow up shots into the animal. It’s not fun when we get bad breaks bow hunting. That deflection happens just part of the ride, but quick reaction finished the job!

The love you guys have for these animals and the disappointment (not edited out) you have in yourself for not making the best most humane lethal shot possible so they don't have to suffer is what sets you guys apart from the rest!!! As well as having the discipline to come up with a strategy to get a follow up to put it down as fast as possible to me makes "The Hunting Public" as a group "THE GOLD STANDARD" of an example of what having a TRUE love for the animals and being a good hunter is!!
