I was about to comment the same. He has COPD but he does seem better than a few years ago. He had an oxygen mask on also, I thought he maybe on his way out. I'm glad he's better.
I met Blackjack's brother a couple of times. He was the ex brother in law of my mom's second husband. We didn't talk much about wrestling but I grew up watching his family.
Who hits people sitting down. I knew a guy like that in college; damn near went to prison and should have. Victim, who ended up winning fight anyway, wouldn't press charges sadly.
I love Ole's grumpy ass. Him and Arn were my favorite Horsemen. I don't care how big of an ass they say he was. Hell, Ole's has demonstrated his grumpyness himself. He doesn't care and that's what I love about him. Kinda like you 98 year old great-grandparent who is to that age they don't care what they say... at any given time.
@@BrimstoneButcher That book cost a small fortune now. I was going to purchase it, but it was 60 dollars or more for it. I had to pass, but would like to read it.
@@poopsyko Blackjack Mulligan told my uncle he would "Beat his ass" at the Norfolk Scope in 81 or 82. Bruce was drunk and talking shit to Mulligan and my Dad had to get him out of there because Mulligan was coming at him over a beer cup Bruce threw at him.
@@robertrodriguez787 He back down after he just destroyed his son and challenged him. Says all you need to know. Don't try to steal Heenan's name for him. You screwed it up.
@@darlinbood3991 Not true, Billy Jack has told the story and said he went up to Blackjack and told him he was gonna fight his son and Blackjack basically said he was his own man. Both Billy and Blackjack have complimented each others toughness and Billy said he doesn't know if he could have beaten Blackjack in a fight.
That's not nearly as entertaining as Black Bart talking about the time in Florida when Billy Jack Haynes beat tf out of Barry Windham in the dressing room with a neutral Mulligan in attendance... Even tho it was his son, Mulligan was man enough to let his son fight his own fight, the same can't be said for his son in law Mike Rotunda who tried jumping in and was quickly sent running from the dressing room
@@MrSmitty1074 The fight was already underway when Bart walked into the dressing room, what initiated it was after Billy Jack's match he returned to the locker room and found his cowboy hat laying in the toilet with shit in it and a note that said something smartass written on it, listen to BJH tell it, it's a great story... Like BW picked Billy Jack to fk with of all people lol
I like Jake but GCW was sold out almost every Friday night in Atlanta in the 70’s when Ole was the booker. Ole didn’t book himself. He made others look good. Come on Jake
Hearing anyone knocking out the bitter old Ole puts a smile on my face. Surprisingly, only a few wrestlers (such as Tony Atlas) like racist Ole Anderson.
Creating the Road Warriors and Tommy Rich's angle with Abdullah the Butcher that got him over with the fans is Ole booking himself? Roberts didn't like how he was used and wanted to be the booker instead of Ole. Marcus, push back when Jake spouts BS. It will make for a more entertaining podcast.
Too many of these podcasts have a cohost or whatever that is a fan of the star of the show. Given the choice, I’d rather be a yes man for Vince McMahon than blindly parroting agreement with everything Jake says.
He also booked the Black Scorpion disaster. I know what you are trying to say but don’t accuse someone of cherry picking their experiences while doing the exact same thing yourself.
@@tellumyort I was never clear about that Black Scorpion thing. Was that actually Ole from the start or was he stuck with someone else’s idea and expected to wrap it up in good fashion?
these guy's just can't tell the truth. he didn't knock him out in the office, many other wrestlers tell a different story and all have the same story. to many lies to continue watching this site
In a podcast before Blackjack died Blackjack said he hit Ole once and he shouldn’t have hit a man like that meaning he had a lot of respect for Ole. In Joe Hamiltons (aka Jody) Assassin man behind the mask book said that Ole was a good Booker but the higher ups wouldn’t let him do what Ole thought needed to be done. Now this is just my opinion but Ole sat under the learning tree of Vergne Gagne and Verne always kept the AWA title on himself and I forgot why Ole said Vergne did that but that might be why Ole booked himself and Gene a lot IDK.
Now I gotta say this, all this talk over the years about Ole not knowing how to book is crap! Is Jake forgetting when he was made the television champion? How about his great feud with Ron Garvin,? Or being part of the Legion of Doom? I think Jake's memory is slipping! People just love to hate on Ole, I don't know!
Two asshole bullies fighting is all it was. Mulligan tried his tough guy shit with Andre. That didn't turn out so well for him. Good to see Jake finally overcoming his demons, though!
I wonder how much of Jake’s stuff is revisionist history or the result of his “demons” affecting his mind. Ole, miserable cuss he was, had a booking career that spanned more than a decade for 2 major promotions. Jake was an interim booker for GCW for a few months.
Funny thing, Aurelion wrestled Sabu on house shows in Japan. Bob Backlund wrestled in Japan. Undertakers real name is Mark. Doink and Shango were supposed to have a program but it was nixed. It would have been a 'master of magic' feud. Booked by Polo and Vince. Ole was the voice of Back Scorpion. IRS knocked out Billy Gunn, yes sir. Yes indeed. Jake 'The Snake' once caught a jobber dancing to his theme. Jake went straight to Vince, which caused major heat for Roberts with Warrior. People believe this is what caused Warrior to fall out with 'Snake' Roberts.
Roberts brain is so fried he don't even knows what he's saying. Most of his conversations are yep no and thats his answers. He can't even form a thought
And black jack was gonna beat Andre up in the bar and Andre threw him thru one window and his buddy thru another window and carried t gem both into the hospital love to see Ole piss prime Andre off
@@robertrodriguez787That incident is true but the other times are just BS made up by carnies who hated Ole, the people who usually tell the stories like Flair or Jake were likely scared of Ole.
As a 12 year old, Jake the Snake was the man. Now I'm 48 Jake the Snake is still the man. Enjoy your sobriety brother. I just celebrated 18 years myself.
Blackjack Mulligan had a reputation for sucker punching people. You talked to him, something annoyed him and out of nowhere..bam! He did it also with André the Giant
he was a bully and was an annoying crotchety guy but at the same time he was a serious booker and did a good job of it for years. in addition, he got a lot of talent over - the road warriors were an ole invention and he definitely got them over.
@@teastrainer3604 ole? lol. i cant think of anyone that 'liked' him but most people respect his booking, especially earlier on with ga championship and then the jcp territory eventually. ill admit his later booking wasnt the best
When Jack Mulligan was a Road Agent for WWE JBL tried to bully him & then started calling him "old man" giving him FU's & such & Mulligan knocked him out! When JBL came to he apologized & went on to tell those who witnessed it that it was the hardest he'd ever been hit!
No one has a more universal reputation for being a plain A-hole than Ole Anderson. I've never heard a single Wrestler say they enjoyed him or being around him, or working with/for him .
Ole Anderson in an interview claimed he did a squat with 700 pounds. Sure! He went down one inch, replaced the bar, and he called it a squat. Maybe he could have done 350 full range. MAYBE.
