So what’s stopping Jake from getting a normal full time job like everyone else? Why does he feel entitled to be paid for being a bum while failing to be a stand up comedian?
@robertstone3849 It's not hard lol. If you have any people skills and dress nice you could have multiple job offers in a week. There is a major shortage of quality workers pretty much everywhere and if you appear somewhat capable, you'll easily find a job. Edit: This comment has nothing to do with Jake, just the myth that finding a job is difficult.
@@bobbyaintnooneschild4971the average persons experience is far more difficult than the former mister beast employees experience when it comes to former job experience. He can always start washing dishes, a job literally anyone can get hired too do.
He has very obvious ADHD. Did you let him know you were doing the interview to scrutinize him? What is there not to trust? So much that he has said has been proven to be true. Including the coercement for him to stay. So now an item on the big class action against Jimmy and Amazon. This will not age well.
His problem is he is so nice that he doesn't want to say nasty things. There are power plays at play. You are coming across like an idiot to anyone who is smart enough to understand. No there is no huge difference if there is a power play. Why don't you go after Mr Beast.
So basically he wanted to win the money and was fine following the rules of the game, he just wanted to turn the lights off so he could sleep. If you recall correctly, the next attempt at that video that made it up on the beast channel, the participant had night-time hours. Also don't act like having huge bright lights on you for 30 consecutive days isn't a huge deal, it's a proven fact that having the lights on while you sleep disturbs the process and lessens the quality. Given this, it's not farfetched that lights that bright would make him incapable of getting any proper sleep. It's hard to believe that everyone on set was unaware of just how hard it was to sleep in that room, so they are guilty of intentional sleep deprivation if his testimony holds up (which is against the Geneva convention).
@@robertstone3849no it doesn't violate the Geneva convention, that applies only for war crimes ecc... There is criticism for the people involved in the challenge and I see both sides of thinking, however, saying they committed a crime and violated the geneva convention is dumb since they establish international legal standards for humanitarian treatment IN WAR. Weddle was gonna make what most Americans make in 6 years in the span of a month but didn’t want to comply with the crew members when they told him to play with a Rubik’s cube or lego and didn’t bother coming up with a solution about the light problem such as just wearing a sleep mask and then he proceeded to make what takes the averages American 2 years of working to make in 10 days after he gave up and blames mr beast. Weddle must have a massive victim complex.
"There was a lot of pressure ".. he's a grown man. "Im too pathetic to stick up for myself" wont stand up in court lol. People say anyone saying this is 'victim blaming' but someones gotta be a victim for that to apply 😂
Most retail workers in third world countries couldn't make 100K in a year, much less 300K. You'd be settled for months, years even if you didn't spend all the cash on a mansion or a sports car. How was he STILL in student debt after getting 100K even?? Does American student debt go into the 6 digits or am I missing something?
@@2slowpoke929 it would take a retail worker working full time like 3-4 years to make 100k if they didn’t spend any of their money and no student debt doesn’t usually go in to 6 digits
Preach brother! 👍 Dude didn't wanna play with legos for 10K a day? It's the stupidest shit ever... and the sleep mask, or any piece of fabric. I once slept on the fully lit train with a hood of my hoodie over my eyes. This dude is full of it. A drama queen, a diva.
Glad to see a commentary channel finally pushing back against Jake Weddle, dont get me wrong, i dont defend mr beast but some of the criticism that its been thrown out, such as this one with Jake is absolutley stupid as hell
Your ability to keep cool and stay cordial with guy is beyond commendable. I don’t think I’d be able to last 5 minutes in a conversation with him before laying into him. This dude is beyond smug and nowhere near as funny as he seems to think he is. Evidenced by the failed comedy career he wasted all that prize money on.

Also, as someone who worked for lawyers who handle defamation cases and knows how low they go to get a win: Jake taking the 50k is a double edged sword depending on the judge. If Jimmys lawyers are smart they'll bring up the comparison between him taking the money despite saying he doesn't want money prior to argue how deep the emotional damages actually went. They also can taint his credibility as a witness by showing his willingness to take money. Defamation/PR-Protection-lawyers don't have such a thing as morals or empathy once they enter the courtroom. You wont be able to get them to back down by asking for empathy. If its true that Jimmy is taking Dogpack to court, then i hope for him that Jake will drop the c*cky attitude (censoring cause RU-vid sometimes auto-filters comments)...well to be fair, he probably had this attitude cause he knew the host and the hosts audience are on his side.

@@theoriginaldemiurgehe’s referring to when Weddle was pitched the idea they said they would promote it as him staying for 100 days but he would only actually have to stay in there for 30 days. While he didn’t make it through the 30 days the point is it was apparently pitched as lying about how much time was actually spent in solitary confinement.
@mitchell4681 maybe he changed his statement later but I remember him saying in the dogpack video he was supposed to do 100 days but bailed out at 30 which is why he only received a portion of the payment.
Jake shouldn't have taken the 50k He should have taken the 190k and gone like "yeah who wouldnt" but he's morally grandstanding and acting like he's not biased. the way he's acting he's definitely going to let it change his opinion. And dog pack sucks. He's like tipster where he has no personality of his own and latches onto other people and essentially copies their personality.
Judging a book by its cover still has a 100% success rate. weddle wanting the full reward for 30% of the work is impressive. He also probably would want the state to come in with 10 people arguing for his personal interests and taking care of him so he can say no to doing the rubix cube in the future.
"Jimmy doesn't tip toe around feelings" This is all I needed to hear, can anyone here who's worked a real job met an executive of their company that isn't like this? How is this the justification for calling it a warcrime, that you're worried he might tell you straight up rather than be graceful and worry about making you feel questioned? He has to have not worked any other job to think thats exceptional, like "you'd only know if you've worked with him", nah, that's anyone with a position at their job with time and financial constraints. It's not a crime to be curt.
You don’t understand, jake needs to have his rear end wiped with a velvet cloth by his boss while laughing at his so heckin random XD 2010 humor or else it’s literal slavery bro
It's jarring seeing the difference between your chat and Cam's. People are unironically rooting for Jake and theorycrafting about being on a payroll. Nic's right, "Wow, I'm not the one who took 50k, but go off queen" would've been perfect
let's talk about the real reason we dont like mr beast, just like disney capitalized on happiness, or how "alpha male" channels capitalized on self growth, Mr.Beast has not only done that for RU-vid overall, but also capitlizing on CHARITY. The main issue is nowadays everything has a dollar to it, even our own life experiences and emotions, Mr.Beast exemplifies this in the most fuck you way imaginable by making it seem like we're bad for finding it scummy because hes still giving away money even if hes doing it with an apathetic heart and mind
I don't like Beast, i never have but damn Lerix can't ask hard questions with out getting called a dickrider lol people can disagree without it being an argument or it being hateful.
Thats the thing, Lerix out right said that Mr.Beast critics should criticize people like Jake so that they'll have a more solid case at the end of the video. But these regards are too busy drooling to have a cognitive thought and just screech insults at him.
@@silverthehedgehog7325 Facts, it's unfortunate people can't have an open mind about anything. This shit ruins lives we can't just blindly follow anything we hear.
@@D_an_ Very true, like shit i don't like Beast but damn i'd rather know the guy is a POS for sure than his life get ruined over false narratives. Biases aside he's still human.
This is like a contestant going on fear factor and then whining about how uncomfortable they felt afterwards. Like duh, that's the point of the challenge lmao. Sounds like Jake is just greedy and couldn't turn down that free money, so he accepts a challenge he knows he can't complete..fails and then blames Mr.Beast. Sounds legit.
I don't like Mr Beast but holy hell does Jake come off as a whiny manchild who is allergic to accountability. My favourite part is when asked about the ethical way to do challenges he suggests Mr Beast should just donate. The obvious thing is that the videos generate the money he needs to operate so it obviously wouldn't work but the less obvious thing is the implication that Weddle wants Mr Beast to just donate to him an able bodied man who could get a job but is too desperate to become a comedian (despite not being funny). Mr Beast didn't force you into student loans and maybe if you wanted to be a comedian you shouldn't have gone... You are near the bottom of the list of people who should get charity. It's also painfully obvious Jake is in a low effort internet socialist mindset with the way he talks about things or in his videos where he begs Vaush to cover it and also Ethan while randomly attacking him over Israel. Though this is a guy who tries to paint himself as the victim of war crimes for taking part in a poorly thought out video.
Jake said, "well I was worried they wouldn't call me back" as if MrBeast was threatening him is so naive. That is the risk you take by being freelance or a contractor or independent. It's not a threat you're not gonna get called back for a gig, that's part of that type of work. If you're told to play with a rubik's cube, that's your job now. If you're told to run on a treadmill, that's your job now. It's like doing acting gigs essentially, and if you don't wanna do what they ask, that's the benefit of being freelance. You might not be called back, but thats's the trade off so you can set your own boundaries. You can even do that to a certain extent at a normal job if they ask you to do something beyond your position or capabilities. If you wanted a stable job with stable income, maybe don't do gigs Weddle
I'm kind of on the fence about this. While yes, a lot of the points are blown out of proportions and/or are removing agency from Jake, who is an adult - doing those kind of psychological experiments on other people, which boarder on actual torture, is something worth criticizing, and giving the tortured person money doesn't really negate that. Also while Jake should bear reaponsibility for his own actions and choices, feeling pressure to do what he's told under threat of the production going bust if he doesn't, with the context that he already got another person fired in the past for speaking up, is also a fair point to bring up. Solitary confinment and sleep deprevation can cause long term psychological damage, so even if someone is compensated for going through it, it's still morally and ethically questionable to say the least. So in conclusion, while I agree that maybe Jake's wording and framing may deserve some criticism, I think the general arguments still hold water
@@simnm8057 There's a difference between a normal challange (I.E. The Mac videos, Squid Games, last to leave circle etc.) And something that can potentially cause immense psychological, or even physical harm (social isolation, sleep depravation, running a marathon without preperation). Those things at the very least require very close medical supervision, which can be seen in the challanges Jimmy himself willingly participates in. But based on my understanding that wasn't the case in the scrapped video Jake was a part of. So while yes, this is a challange, and challanges are supposed to be well.. challanging, there's a difference between "challanging" and "psychologically and physically demaging". You get what I'm saying?
@@woodencat5990 The "isolation challenge" is a rather peculiar blend of fictional and nonfictional psych experiments/concepts just...used so much worse. "The Russian Sleep Experiment" being the fictional one. It's equal parts "Milgram Obedience Study," "The Genovese/Bystander Effect," "Little Albert," and "The Stanford Prison Experiment." Granted, that last one may not count anymore after it was revealed that the data being produced was altered to form a certain narrative, but then again...isn't that what every Beast video is? Clever editing and cut content stitched together to portray things in a way that games the algorithm and that pre-frontal cortex/frontal lobe everyone has, but isn't really fully developed until they're in their 20s. If you go through the past hundred years of advancement in psych, you could write a thesis on how a Mr. Beast-like channel could even happen. Watch this get used out of context.
