As you mentioned, the paint work is awesome for such a low price. But also, the box art is very pretty. I open 99.9% of my figures, but I think I might keep these on card.
Its wierd how we haven't gotten a figma botw link yet, specially considering skyward link is constantly re printed and people who arent into action figures buy it still
Twilight Princess has always been my favorite Link. I love the realistic look of his outfit. I used to be super into buying World of Nintendo but I stopped after they went full Mario. Since learning about these I’ve been constantly checking Walmart for prices. Finally have a fellow collector shipping some over to me. It’s amazing to me that these cost $10 but have better sculpts and more paint work than a $25 Marvel Legends. Hasbro ought to be ashamed of themselves 😂
Never have I clicked a video so fast. Excellent review Anthony. It really amazes me how Hasbro is putting so little effort paint and accessory wise on Legends and Black series. Zelda and Link are amazing considering the price.
@@AnthonysCustoms Will you review mcf Scarecrow from Arkham Knight? Interested in your opinion as I'm very disappointed in his lack of paint despite a very good sculpt.
I think for a custom child body that has a more medieval feel to it, it works really nice. Custom head, a custom paint job, and maybe a matte clear coat it would fit in with mythic legions even.
The accessory situation is weird, tho. Zelda comes with the sheikah slate only, which feels very insubstantial compared to link. Shoulda had the bow of light included. As for link, he can come with either a simple soldier's broadsword (an also somewhat insubstantial accessory), or he can come with the master sword and hylian shield, a very hefty and extremely well-detailed pair of accessories that is remarkably more substantial. Also, the 2 link figures are identical otherwise, so good luck finding a master sword link cuz nobody would want the soldier sword instead lol😊
I never liked Jakks Pacific's quality. The only figures I bought from them were the Starfox figures because they were the only ones that made articulated figures of Fox, Falco, and Slippy. If you want quality Nintendo figures refer to Goodsmile products like Figma and Nendoroids.
Wow jakks pacific that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time..brings me back. I remember those dragon ball GT ones. “I’m gonna do Zelda first so you don’t tune out after we finish link” LOL I snorted
I dunno all of the various looks of Link, but I have to say, I like him in his green, Robin hood type outfit. Lol! I think that was the basically the outfit in "ocarina of time", because I love that friggin game, but again, I'm no expert on the many looks of Link. Lol! Sik
The Samus figure has some of the most comically bad arm joints I've ever seen. For $10 though, I think these are solid releases. All about classic ocarina of time.
I was just bitching about the $60 price point of the Blob figure (again lol) and then your video showed a 10 dollar price point... thank you Anthony. Point made. Sik
These are surprisingly good for the price. Might have to pick them up. Personally, I would really want the Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess versions as they are my favorite versions of Link and Zelda.
I will say that no bicep/thigh swivel is an infuriating problem. I never realize how much I use that articulation until it's gone. Still for $10 who cares. A price point, paint, and sculpt that harkens back to the marvel legends heyday. Meanwhile Hasbro is hemorrhaging because no one wants to pay for their crap. I've got such a soft spot of Majora's Mask, but I think OOT is probably my favorite design. I still regret not getting the Link Between Worlds figma, that design is just my perfect compromise of what I remember, that if it wasn't for the different bangs, that probably would be my favorite design.
Honestly I'm shocked with how well they did Link, and for $10? Why is it all the figures you looked at this week were all expensive hunks of junk but the least expensive is the best value? Insane, I'll have to seek these guys out! Also to answer your question, I dig the OoT look
My favorite look for Link is Twilight Princess. I'll also throw in Hyrule Warriors Link too These $10 figures are better than most Marvel Legends at $25.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo licenses should be as expensive as Marvel's, I refuse to believe anything Hasbro says when detailed figures like these can be made for cheap.
Anyone saying that ML lacks in paint because of the Marvel licensing is crazy, because I can bet that Nintendo's licensing fee is on par with Marvel's (if not more), and Jakks is a much smaller company than Hasbro (and less wealthy).
I could swear I already left a comment on this video, but apparently not lol. My favourite Link design is probably Link to the Past, I'm a fan of the pink hair for Link in that game. Or possibly Wind Waker design because stylized looks for characters is always appealing to me. The whole liscensing excuse with Hasbro is just pure bs when products like these - who also liscensing agreements - exist. Unfortunately, the Shillimus Primes of the world wouldn't dare review these types of products, for fear of making Hasbro look less than perfect.
Thanks to this video, I learned two things: 1. These figures are in no way fitting the scale of the 4" Mario figures (or is Link really that tall...?) Which would be excusable if we were talking about different brands, but we don't. (To be fair, many brands don't care too much about correct scaling, sadly.) EDIT: At least that's what I thought. But after a little DIY size comparison in Mario Kart 8, Link's height is rather accurate. Compared side by side, measuring body sections and considering that Mario is around 155 cm, Link is about 220 cm tall in this game - which would convert to around 13 cm within the 4" universe, making this figure not taller but a little bit shorter than it should be. 2. Even with characters whose physiology ×should× allow good articulation, Jakks still does a rather bad/pretty bad job. A big thank you for showing them next to a ruler👍 Seems trivial, but most reviewers seem to think that comparing figures to other figures would be helpful enough - which it isn't, for the reasons I mentioned above. What are these people trying to do? Proving that Americans will use ANYTHING but the metric system?😂
I might get Zelda Female action figures aren't all that common unless they're superheroes. Plus, she THICC. I hope one day we get a Tears of the Kingdom variation of Zelda, but that doesn't seem likely.
I just got these and they are amazing. Zelda looks great but I'm not a huge fan of Link's face. I would have preferred a neutral expression, but it's not the end of the world. The Sheikah Slate holder on Link can double as a holder for his sword(albeit not very sturdy). Can't wait for the figma totk Link!
Ah yes I loved using so much *the table of DOOM* during my playing section botw It called the *Sheikah slate...* but who cares, prefer the better *Purah Pad* from Purah herself 😏
@@AnthonysCustoms Leaning towards the amiibo but my only question is the size. the link archer amiibo (which is what i want) is pretty decent sized judging from videos... is it in 1/12 scale? or maybe i am misinterpreting its size and its really small? i dont really mind not being able to pose, the pose is already good. So size is probably the only thing to consider for me. guess i better research more. thanks for your insight
The link between worlds costume has been my favorite since it came out and the Figma Link based on that game is one of my favorite figures of all time.
If not mistaken Jakks did release a BOTW Link figure set that came with bow/arrow, quiver and tunic accessories which I wonder if they are compatible with this newer version 🤔. By the way looking forward to Samus's review if you plan on getting her as well 😬.
Where does one buy these from that isn't ebay? I haven't found a source besides them being twice as much or more as the ten dollar retail price you're saying, and on weird toy sites I've never heard of
About two weeks ago, I ran into them by accident at Walmart. They even had the Metroid figure also. I didn't buy them because I was fixated at other figures. Went back a few days later, gone. All of them. If I see them in the wild again, I'll be sure to scoop'em up.
Also I was shopping for the NECA Auto-T TMNT line up. Which this Walmart didn't carry, but I found a Walmart near my job that does. My mistake was underestimating how popular these Zelda figures were.
Ocarina of Time Link is my favorite version of Link. Still waiting for a collectible figure of that Link. Its a shame to see Jaks out do hasbros marvel legends like this, i think Nintendo is pickier with there IPs no one makes oficial nintendo figures now a days.
Wow $10 for these!!! What, did we go back in time or something? I got a few Jakks and while not the highest quality, they made decent Halo figures and I love my old 30" tall Master Chief and Godzilla. Seriously, suck it Hasbro...
Man I just wish they had the necessary bicep and thigh swivels across the board. Link has em like you pointed out... So why didn't samus have em?! Heck Link just needed a ball jointed waist swivel and he's be perfect to me
Gotta go with Twilight Princess costume. It's not my favourite game, that would be Majora's Mask, but TP just got that darker, more serious vibe to it.
I got darwin for the baf piece and then sold him. Every time y see an Anthony video I regret selling him. Also, these two figures look insanely good for the price, can't believe it's 10 bucks. They are not my cup of tea style-wise but they are stupid good for the price
If we're talking in-game model I like SS Link the best since he wears some of the stuff you pick up. Otherwise A Link to the Past is still the best. BotW's classic costume is also up there for me especially since it's the only worthwhile reward in the game.
Nice! Jazzwares have come from a long way since their mk and street fighter figs to ufc and aew figs. They could possibly out beat hasbro in terms of articulation, detail, paint applications 🤔
