He did not appreciate the no pacer at Olympics question 😅 I can understand that he is fed up with these questions, I just hope he really stops and thinks about it. Without pacers the Olympic final will most likely be 1 to 2 seconds slower and Kerr will certainly be able to use Jakob as his pacer and run a time of high 27/low 28.

Jakob was able to do it in tokyo and he's only in better shape now, if he runs all out and keeps it an honest pace he will undoubtedly win gold

@@lol-gb5vtTokyo had a rabbit in Cheruiyot for majority of the race till Jakob took it at 100 to go

I agree Jakob and everyone who is listening is sick of the interviewers calling out the pacer issue. Jakob and everyone knows it’s different at Olympics and Jakob has been preparing for that. He’s not stupid. Today was a fitness test to see where he is at and he is in 3:26 shape and no one else is even close. We’ll see what happens at Olympics. If he can run 3:26/3:27 solo he wins. If he runs 3:28 Kerr will probably out kick him but Jakob has been focusing on closing hard. If he runs 3:29 I think it’s anyone’s race. He knows all of this. Let’s see what he does about it. Can’t wait.

Jakob is facing a pacing issue. He needs someone to break the wind resistance for 1200 meters to achieve his maximum speed. Without this assistance, his chances of victory will rely on his sprinting abilities, which are not among the best. Jakob requires a fast race and a pacemaker to secure his success. When running behind a pacer, it is possible to run up to 1.5 seconds faster per lap.

In the Olympic finals he should lead from the first meter in the pace (55.5-56"/400m) and show a sub 3:28" at the finish. Surely that will be enough. But a lot depends on the weather conditions.

It will be close in the final. Ingebrigsten thrives off of pacers and an even pace. It will also probably be quite hot. This means that going full gas from the start is likely off the cards. I think it’s going to neck and neck between Kerr and Ingebrigtsen. Before this race I thought maybe Kerr has 80% chance of winning now if say it’s 50/50. If Kerr was running this race I’m just guessing he might be half a second behind but Kerr does better in races without paces and if the pace slows down at any point in the race then Kerr certainly has the advantage. Kerr ran the 800m at the British Olympic trials a week ago and he fell over on the final stretch and the race was more tactical not fast but he looked like he may have won it which shows that his speed is improving even further.

I’ll tell you how many pacers there were in Tokyo… ONE. His name was Timothy Cheruiyot who paced the race from 400m till 1400m and Jakob stuck right behind him. Come on man. I’m rooting for this guy but if he really hasn’t learned that he has weaknesses, he can get himself seriously screwed in Paris with Josh Kerr.

Kerr will do 27/low 28? Kerr has to make a PB then from his 3.29,05. It's hard to do that on this level.🙃

Kerr has potential to run a 3:27 something now I’m not sure about 3:26 something though. Kerr has come into form since he won the world champs but since then he hasn’t run any fast 1500m races with pacers. Let’s not forget he ran the two mile indoor record and ran a British record in the mile. The bowerman mile race with Kerr wasn’t as quick as it could have been with the pace slowing through the early to midpoint and then Kerr ran to the front. Kerr has an advantage over Jakob if the pace slows at all because he has a better kick. I think the Olympic final will be neck and neck between Kerr and ingebrigsten

It's not a problem for Jacob to break the 5000m record (12:32-12:34). But I can't believe in a 1.5k record. I think his limit was 1.5 today.

@@Kingston781Oh he’s going to break the 5k world record, you can count on it. Your comment tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about so let me explain and at the same time adress the original comment. It’s going to be much easier for Jacob to break the 5k wr than the 1500 but he’s not focusing on it at all yet. He’s doing the logical thing and focusing on the 1500 while he’s still young and has the speed. Jacob is 23 now and I believe Hicham was 24 when he ran the wr. This fits as I believe Jakob will be ready to break it next year barring any more injuires. He has an extremely patient and methodical approach to his training so why anyone would think that today’s time would be his max is beyond me. It’s about relentless forward progress and Jacob has slowly but surely been inching closer and closer to that wr and there’s no doubt in my mind that he will get there.

He didn’t even peak properly for this race. There is no doubt he can break the 1500 world record very soon
@mikaelangeloh2316
@mikaelangeloh2316 Месяц назад
To continue, Jakob is naturally much better suited for the 5k and says so himself as well, but he likes the 1500 and is focusing on it while he has max speed. His goal is to have ALL the world records from 1500 and up and I think he has a good chance of doing it. The 1500 is in a way his worst distance as he just barely has enough natural speed to get the WR there. When he changes his training and sets his sights on the longer distance world records you are going to be amazed!
