1 sen coin is already out of use in transaction. We used to have 1 sen coin but now no more. For any transaction we round up and down to the nearest 5 sen or 10 sen. I.e. rm2.02 is rounded down to rm2. Rm2.03 is rounded up to rm2.05
That makcik was trying hard to sell more products to you 😂 hats off to her for trying to communicate with you even though she was struggling to speak English.
Fumakilla is a Japanese brand, but in 2014 it moved its Asian R&D hub to Malaysia to cater for rapid demand. Thats why you see lots of Fumakilla products in Malaysia.
Guys it is where did she buy it and not bought. It should be present tense. The only problem is when ichang stay at hotel, they might want to check whether it is a real durian.
Just wanna tell iChang that we don’t have 1 cent in Malaysia now, so there is no change for RM0.02. Both 20 cents can be used, the gold colour one is new coin while the silver one is old. But both of them can be used, as well as when you pay at anywhere except the food/water machine. Some of the machines only can use new coin, btw don’t worry, most of the machines can accept any old or new coins 🙆🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️💓
Usually for coin change we use round up & round down to the nearest 5sen & 10sen since we no longer have 1sen in circulation . Ie if it's 18sen/19sen= round up to 20sen If its 16sen/17sen = round down to 15sen You can use both gold 20sen (new coin) & silver 20sen (old coin).
Common relationship dilemma: The guy wants to eat something easily found. In this case, mamak. The girl wants to eat something can't be found cause it is seasonal. In this case, prosperity burger.
@@leoshanbob Rasulullah S.A.W. mengajarkan berzikir tasbih sebanyak 33X setelah solat. Sebagai umat yang cinta kepada Rasulullah SAW kita tidak akan menambah atau mengurangi apa yang sudah diajarkan karena inilah sunnah.
@@leoshanbob why 33 is because our prophet Rasulullah PBUH teach us to count it 33...real reason why 33 is unknown only God knows...but we actually can count it more than 33...it just a number that provided to us to follow, so we have target...if you dont reach it still count...but we have concept of following sunnah(follow base on what our prophet do and told us to)....in islam if you follow the sunnah, you will get rewarded...so if you count it 32th you will get 32 reward, but if you reach 33th because of sunnah you will get 33 reward + reward of following sunnah...but actually you dont need to know(but good to know) this to understand islam...it is like intermediate level...if you want to know about a religion..study the concept of God in that religion....you can look for other religion, but i recommend you to consider islam as well...and please dont label religion by its people...but learn what is the teaching of it....if you see a muslim bad, doesnt mean that islam is a bad religion, it simply mean he didnt follow the teaching...same goes to other religion... if you curious about islam you can watch Dr Zakir Naik video on RU-vid
Since April 2008, Malaysian do not use 1 cents anymore. There is a round up/down mechanism. If the amount ends with 2cents and below, they will round down, for example if price is RM1.02 u need to pay RM1 only. But for amount ending with 3 cents, then they will round up to 5 cents(eg. From 1.03 to 1.05).
Sorry you didn't get to try Prosperity Burger but hey, there's a unique homemade burger you can try since you're in that area. Look for Hillside Uncle's Burger just further up the road from Tesco. Good luck, and looking forward to your adventures 🤩
Greetings Swee Jin, I've been wondering whether this shop is still open or not. Because the other day, I went to find, it wasn't open. Any clues as to went uncle opens? Thankss :D
He opens around 6:30 pm and was probably on CNY vacation recently. Just google 'Hillside Uncle's Burger' and you'll see his phone number so you can call to check (or order in advance). Enjoy!
There's no more 1 cent change. Have been abolished many years ago. Eg: So if it's RM2.18, it'll be rounded up to RM2.20. If the price is RM2.16, then it'll round up to rm2.15. The smallest amount is 5cent.
Yes.. This is the right answer. I saw someone said we Malaysian don't care about the 0.02 cent. That's partially true but the exact reason is because we don't have the 0.01 cent coin anymore that's why ichang didn't get the change.
Ichang, when you buy a time counter, it's call beads from Muslim prayer Zikr, when u feel like Zikr urself in your heart.. That's why commonly in Islam they use for Prayer with Zikr daily activities. Otherwise, you can used other things like how to count a money or something else.. It's beneficial to know
Yeahh . Stupid who design this new coin. 5 sen almost same size 10 sen. 20 sen same size 50 sen. If old coin easy. Even in pocket also we know the value of the coin.
@@ichangrm You are in Penang, a foodie's heaven. Don't just eat McDonald's and mamak food all the time. Plenty of other much tastier food around! Do enjoy!
11:29 This is because since 13 yrs ago, all payment totals will either be rounded up or down to the nearest five sen. No more 1 cent, but the coin remains legal tender. How it works: Before Rounding RM1.01 & RM1.02 --> After rounding RM1.00 Before Rounding RM1.03 & RM1.04 --> After rounding RM1.05 Before Rounding RM1.06 & RM1.07 --> After rounding RM1.05 Before Rounding RM1.08 & RM1.09 --> After rounding RM1.10
Jimmy already hooked with mamak food but iChang not interested. LOL. There are no beautiful waitresses with long legs at mamak restaurant Jimmy. Just some Indian guys with thick mustache.
You both have become such a Malaysian couple. Husband wants mamak like everytime if eating outside, then wife/girlfriend face will turn sour because they want some other high end/ fast food place..Ohh that's so cute of both of you..
The different between the gold and silver coins is : 1. The silver coin is the old version 2. The gold coin is the new version Both are still accepted 💓 Thank You For Vissiting Malaysia. I hope you enjoying your day in Malaysia! 👏🏻💓
Both 20 cent coins have the same exact value. The silver one is just an older version of the 20 cent coin while the gold one is a newer version. Same thing with the 50 cents. Also Malaysia does not produce 1 cent coins anymore so if you have a value with decimals they will get rounded up or down. For example, 3 cents will round up to 5 cents. 2 cents will round down to 0.
You guys seems to enjoy malaysian cuisine. Head out to Kelantan for more local and aunthentic foods. If you ever got to kelantan make sure to go to Kopitiam Kita. They serve the best breakfast so far, recc menu is Roti Titab, Kuih Akok, and Nasi Kerabu. Enjoy your stay here and have a great vacation!
The gold 20 cents is "newer" generation, the silver one was older generation, if you notice the year the coins were minted the silver one is always older than golden one.
The last time I saw someone used that counter (other than used to say pray) is flight attendants, they use it to count the passenger onboard. Pretty cool stuff ,🥰🥰
About that counter. In Islam, there's a practicality called zikir in which one would recite a verse (or verses) of prayers repeatedly. For example, saying "all praise be to Allah" a hundred time. So many people used that counter to keep track of the count. Hope this helps
the 20sen/RM0.20 in silver and gold are value the same, just the gold colour 20sen is a new version of it, you can see the year of manufacture on each coin~ In Malaysia, we will round up if the amount is between 0.00 to 0.005 and 0.05 to 0.10. For example, your water is RM2.18, we will round up to RM2.20, if your water is RM2.16, we will round down to RM2.15 😁
The finger counter muslims usually use to count their 'zikir' (recitations) because they repeat the zikir fer certain number of times. The more traditional way to count is by using the 'tasbih' (the necklace looking thing with beads, kind of similar to monks rosary)
In Malaysia we round up if it is 3, 4, 8, 9 cent or round down if it is 1, 2, 6, 7 cent. The bank stopped making 1 cent coins to save cost. Only 5, 10, 20, 50 cent coins. But if I'm not mistaken if you pay by card (debit/credit), bank will still charge you the exact amount in your statement without round off figures.
ichang and Jimmy..the coins are different in colours and dimension as it was issued in various years...its a good collection though...keep some just to remember the year you guys was in country.
In Malaysia, If you buy items and the total amount is not 5 cent (RM0.05), it will be rounded to the nearest round number. 0.01,0.02,0.03,0.04 will be rounded to 0.00. and 0.06,0.07,0.08,0.09 will be rounded to RM0.10 (10cent) RM2.18 > RM2.20
Both 20 cents can be used. The silver one is just the old version. The gold one is new version. Furthermore in Malaysia, the cents are rounded off to the nearest multiple of 5. This is a law introduced in 2008. so if it is 0.08 or 0.09, it is automatically 0.10. but if it is 0.06 or 0.07, it becomes 0.05.
13:30 What actually Makcik wanted to say is the spelling written at the blue thing is "Prophet", and I think it is a kind of decoration that people hang at the back mirror in car, and will use the rope as place to hang sunglasses etc . It is not a good luck charm :)
yup, there's no such a thing as good luck charm in Islam. All are destined by the god and muslim prays to god asking Him for good luck is the true ways instead of depending on some types of decorations. Hmm.. Interesting
the red counter is for prayer when you chant mantra or sutra. mantra or sutra counting. sometimes you will see commuter or passengers when they boarded the busses or train, holding on to the counter. they’re doing the chanting. they can chant while walking too
In Malaysia the smallest change is 5 cents. If smaller than that it will be rounded to the nearest value. Example 2.18 will become 2.20 If 2.16 will become 2.15 That's the reason you didn't receive your 2 cents balance.. 😅
in malaysia we're no longer using the cent. any amount with cent is to be rounded up, if RM2.03 rounds down RM2.00, RM2.06 rounds up to RM2.10.. and so on..
Hi iChang. In Malaysia, when you pay for something the total bill will be ROUNDED UP/ROUND DOWN to the 5cent denomination value. For example, if your bill is $12.52.....the amount you have to pay is $12.50. If your bill is $12.57......the amount you have to pay is $12.60. The reason they do this is because government discontinued 1cent coins a couple of years ago.
in malaysia, if the change is below RM 0.05 (0.04 and less), it round off to 0. and if more than RM 0.05 it round off to RM 0.10 (10 cent). last time we used to get change for 1 cent 2 cent, but not anymore for now. the smallest changes is 5 cent , 10 cent, 20 cent and 50 cent. the "gold" color of 20 and 50 cent are the new coins, the silver was the oldest version coin, both can use.
Hokkien prawn mee at presgrave road.. Char Koay Teow at siam road.. at my hometown are food heaven.. at night can try lorong baru at town.. alot of food to eat..
1 cent is still exist in malaysia but seller are will round to nearest 5 cent, it is done to save time and handling cost, it is implemented since around 2008,
Still remember when i was a kid, brought 200 worth of 1cent copper coin to buy snacks and got rejected by the seller because the coin was worthless lol. I still kept my 1cent for safekeeping, could be worth something in near future.
the tesco RM2.18, actually in malaysia now the cents are either round up or round down, so your case it is 18cents, so it round up to 20 cents, so no return change. And the Prosperity Burger you're longing for, it is every year release before Chinese New Year (CNY) and last throughout CNY. I guess CNY just over and McD has stopped it.
I recommend going to Alamak at Georgetown if you guys still here! It's something like Mamak but not really there's no roti here. But I recommend Fried Maggie with chicken and Zinger chicken burger melt cheese. It's really good! Just don't go to Bayan Lepas' the quality there is terrible. Georgetown's Alamak is way better, better cooked.
ive been wanting to ask you guys to try MAGGIE GORENG at any mamak store (( kayu nasi kandar , etc )) bcs its basically a must food u get if youre eating at mamak. Also, its cheap so hence why its also a staple food for students (( like me )) hahah
0.02 sen indeed exist but super hard to find now so if you have balance under 0.05, usually they don't give it back. I think nowadays we only have 50, 20, 10 n 5 sen. 1 sen is rarely seen.
