Backup LT, Backup 2nd year RG. Not to mention a C in his first year at the position in the NFL trying to fill the shoes of the GOAT at the position. Just another example of why Jeff Stoutland is the best to ever do it.
People are giving jaden daniels so much credit for just bombing a 65 yard hail mary into a group of people, but hurts doesnt get credit for throwing a 60 yard dime to devonta in tight coverage
6:55 - Question... Do you think it's fair to say Jalen is elite? I do. I say this because he has not had the advantage of the same playcaller/OC for more than once a year like literally every other QB has had, and he still gets the eagles to the playoffs every year. He speeds up what any other QB would take a long time to learn. And the 1 year he had the same OC/play caller, he took his team to the SB. Id like to think he'd be able to look elite for more games than he has given more time with the same guy in his ear. I remember Andy Reid saying a QB needs about 3-4 years to really be comfortable in a new offense. The supposed top QBs, guys like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, etc.. has never had to deal with this. But yet they are applauded highly for their play. Only other qb whose had to deal with this is Baker Mayfield. And now he's finally in a stable offense and he's looked good for the most part this year. Now Jalen's more comfortable and now looks better than ever this szn. I just don't think it's fair for ppl to think he's not elite, but I understand. They'll just judge what they see on the feild not caring to know the off the feild/behind the scenes stuff. He just basically has to play flawlessly on the field for him to change the people's minds
That 3rd and 16 was huge because there was 2 min left. If eagles kick bengals get drive to end half. Eagles got it, milked clock and all their time outs until 15 seconds.
lmao he literally had zero routes in the middle of the field with brian johnson half the year 2023. when he did , aj had 6 straight 125 games n would take one 50-60 per game. devonta and hurts murdered the bucs in the wild card with routes to the middle 2nd quarter. then we didnt have any routes in the middle in the second half. every game wit devonta and aj this year , hurts has cooked over the middle. and had 170 to goedert abusing the middle of the saints defense
“buddy ball” isn’t an insult. you are going to play some buddy ball when you’re a qb because sometimes you love your guy in a situation and you’re gonna hang on it and hit him no matter what. but thats not always gonna be the design of the play so from a film standpoint you can maybe say what JT said. let’s see this thing with middle field open and get a huge chunk or touchdown. it also doesn’t help that the play design sucked so it could be easier on hurts too. maybe he feels the need to play some buddy ball sometimes and throw it to his best guys to make a play work
@@csauceii8438the ball moves much faster in the air than humans do on the ground. That throw is there, and most coaches past HS will chew you out for not taking it. You need to let defenses know that you’re willing to take that hole shot, because it’s one of like… 3 holes (maybe) in C2
from 6:48 IN THE SECOND QUARTER , to the end of the game , Hurts didnt have a single incompletion. 6 drives 45 plays and 0 incompletions. most consistently on target qb in the nfl when we have our actual weapons playing
Like the other posts said he had a knee injury last year, and it was targeted by all the defenses they played. He took some cheap shots to that knee last season.
@@xM40A3x Thanks for the snarky reply but the point is that it's pretty common for QBs to just not fully recover from lower body injuries so it's a relief to see Jalen getting some mobility back. See Dak Prescott for the opposite.
Definitley disagree with the take on the Barkley block at 15:19. It definitely seems that 92 WILL make a stop on Jalen if Saquon doesn't make the block he does.
4:33 For whatever reason the safety decided to crash down and Smith had his man beat one on one. If Jalen doesn’t predetermine the throw to AJ and instead saw the safety crash down and ripped one to Smith up the seam that’s an easy TD. Of course Barkley got open as well and I don’t mind him throwing it to AJ in 1 on 1 coverage bc he’s a beast, but I really want to see him read the safety there.
@@Shawnj647At the same moment he throws to AJ Brown he could’ve instead lofted it over the safeties head for a TD. The safety was flat footed and crashed down on the throw anticipating something underneath. By the time the safety would’ve flipped his hips and tracked back Smith would have been by him similar to the TD Jalen threw later in the game. And since they are both on the same side of the field and running verticals he should be able to see that whole thing develop on the right side of the field. But like I said I don’t mind him trying to throw it up to the best one on one wr in the league.
That first play looks like Brown could of had a whole lot more if not even a TD if Dotson had just blocked 29 instead of running right up to him and then peeling away. Like what is that?
So his Mahomes. It sits on top of his head. And Kittles helmet look like aliens helmet from the movie with Sigourney Weaver, or a hammer head helmet when he turns to the side. 😂🤣🤣
Hurts don't like throwing to the middle of the field, that's why they are running plays he wants to play. That was the drama between him and Sirianni. All these concepts are not Kellen's play, these are plays Hurts wants to run that Sirianni came up for him.
Nobody cares about Hurts breakdown… can’t waitvto see Caleb’s 10 completions breakdown lol Should be fun to giggle at the excuses that are come up with🤣
Even though he looked 10x times better than Carson Wentz his Rookie year. And not to mention, led his team to the playoffs for 3 years in a row even with the worse offensive schemes, and lack of different formations in 2023 season. He literally went toe to toe with Mahomes "a dynasty qb" and played them better than Purdy did in last year's SB. Haha! Eagles have some of the worse fan base I've ever seen. 🤯
Name another B who had a different system to learn EVERY year and STILL took his team to the Playoffs EVEN as a Rookie. And the 1 time he had 2 years with the same OC he went to the Super Bowl and outplayed Mahomes. Y'all and these dumb ass narratives have to stop. Jalen's been winning EVERYWHERE he's gone and people don't realize how great he was to their program until he leaves. Notice Alabama didn't make it to the playoff for the FIRST TIME in the college playoff history AFTER Jalen left? Oklahoma didn't make after he left either. The Eagles wouldn't have made it until Jalen took over. Add to the fact that Elite players WANT to come to Philly BECAUSE OF JALEN. Y'all should shut up more. You'll sound more intelligent.
@gordonclark9893 He's also the same guy who got benched at Bama in favor of Tua. There's a reason for that imo. Some guys can be very good but can't get over the chip hump. Jalen, Bryce Harper, Embiid, for example.
