@@erk9448 Basically the OG singer was lamenting happy times spent with childhood friends, when they were playing as heroes from their favorite TV shows. And then JAM Project turned this song into a hot-blooded hit the kind of which they're famous for.
you hear this song for the first time and u feel like u could take on the world. u read the song's lyrics for the first time and ur like: "well shit son, now i'm sad."
It's something like megaman isn't it? When you first hear this tune, you feel ready to kick butt. You complete all megaman and you're like,"well shit Crapcom, now I'm sad"
This woman has the most beautiful and emotive singing voice , the way she goes from a low register to a seamless head voice near the end gives me those chills.
This is basically the coolest sounding song you could write about the melancholy of growing up. Kind of like “The Kids Aren’t Alright” by Offspring. But if it was instead a cover of a megaman song.
Ganondorf Dragmire The original song was the Dr.Wily stage in Megaman 2, which is the instrumental and original song. This song is a fan-made rock version with lyrics, and the one in Smash is a remix of the original song.
the fact that the lyrics are the complete opposite of how this song makes you feel is the ultimate dichotomy of the cruel indifference of the universe and the indomitable human spirit
The fact that the song is as hype as it is with such lyrics truly shows the strength of the indomitable human spirit shining through. Powerful shit, thank you for highlighting that.
When I was a kid, life was way more easy Those memories are now forgotten A red-white cap* on my head, I was... Ultraman! Ultraman, 7!* Remember when eating, curry to be precise Grabed the spoons that I was using Put them on my eyes, and then I was... Ultraman! Ultraman! But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! Even if try to go back (Lost inside the album) I have to keep going my path (is myself, having a good time) Childhood won't return (laughing with my old friends) Ultraman! Ultraman,7! How are these guys doing nowadays? And where the heck they're now? Seems like the answer is still unclear... But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! The courage that you gave me, it worths... "Okkusenman"! "Okkusenman"! (110 million! 110 million!) All the seasons my life had are now more dramatic... When I was a kid, life was way more easy Those memories are now forgotten That 3D magazine glasses, I was... Ultraman! Ultraman,7! Past memories which seemed to be forgotten Are reviving full and strongly Making an L* with my arms, I was... Ultraman! Ultraman! But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! Even if try to go back (Opening that old diary) I have to keep going my path (on the faded pages I found) Childhood won't return (the name of my first love) Ultraman! Ultraman,7! Now that I'm looking back at those times Seeing how sweetly innocent I was Safe and protected from all this impure things... But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! The scenery I overlooked worths like... "Okkusenman!" "Okkusenman!" (110 million! 110 million!) All the seasons my life had seems made of graffiti..
@@doom5895 it's easy, for those (Japanese and Asian) who were born around 1980~1990 Ultraseven is like the morning/evening anime of their childhood (it has been rebroadcasting on TV many times) and Rockman 2 was released around 1988 was like their childhood game also. // and why Rockman 2? it's because it was hard for them to clear the game at the time. so they will gather their friend to play together to see who will clear certain section of the game. that was their childhood mashed together then this song was born (originally in 2007). [2007 - 1980-ish = ~27 years old; the age of graduated working-class men in the lyrics]
There is a dissonance between the bursting, inspired, shining world within the heart that remains a child that is portrayed by the melody and the lyrics' narrative of the depressing, responsibility-laden, struggling and dull reality in which an adult's happiness is strangled living daily life. Such a contrast represents the very pathos of those of this era who continued to dream but failed to reach the ideal place in their lives where it is manifest. That's why I want to scream out loud and tear through the very universe with all that I am whenever I hear a superb rendition of this song.
Love this song. It is an anthem to our inner child. And this energy is absolutely perfect. Because this is not a song about losing the inner child. Something only truly dies when they are forgotten. And this song reminds us to never forget.
It is now scientifically proven that adding JAM Project to anything makes it more appealing. Case in point, I bought Mighty No. 9 because someone remixed the trailer with this song.
Most of JAM (Japan Anison Makers) Project is like that. They're known for being some of the most hot-blooded singers in Japan whether it's for anime or not (totally makes sense too since one of them is Mr. Dragon Ball himself, Hironobu Kageyama).
This is incredible! I'm almost glad that my computer mysteriously deleted the version I had previously, giving me the chance to discover this version as well.
A song originated from Megaman, lyrics about Ultraman Seven (kind of), sung by the band that made the OP of One Punch Man, we really are living in the best timeline.
I imagine the original version is the song Kamina sings through his life, and then this version is the entirety of Team Dai Gurren fighting and preserving Kamina's legacy. The long note is Simon.
this was the only theme song that feathered Ultraman seven for a theme. Known fact megaman's main creator was a huge sci fi bull and a huge Ultraman fan
while the original version’s more emotional with the guy screaming against the regret & nostalgia for a long gone past this one while it’s the same lyrics it feels more like a goddamn game 7 final sprint, like that fucking hype-ass guitar solo at 2:58 just screams “life sucks but i rather go out swinging with all i got instead of giving up” & the chants are the people cheering you on i listen to the og one when i wanna feel more sad while i have this one in the workout playlist
If this was not a Megaman soundtrack but was completely original instead, this thing would have been one of the most famous songs. The lyrics just match perfectly
I can’t read all the kanji there, but I recognize 才能 (talent) and 無 which can be used as a prefix in a compound word to make it negative, so yeah, it is “waste of talent” EDIT: looked it up, the full sentence is 「才能の無駄遣い」(sainou no mudazukai) which is indeed just “waste of talent.” 才能 = talent, の = possessive particle, 無駄遣い = (a) waste.
Ahh~Everytime I listen to this masterpiece, I think of my lil bro. He love UltraMan man...Today's his bday and I forgot about it until my mom reminded me of it. AHH~!!!! I LOVE YOU MY BROTHER~!!!!!
For years I knew Okkusenman, was a fan of jam project and had NO CLUE they made a cover! It sounds amazing, but I do miss the off key singing of the original, its so energetic so RAW.
I first heard this version while watching Claic Yuzolt and it immediately felt like something much older, like a song I'd known all my life, then I realised that was because I HAD known it all my life, as an 8 year old getting to Dr. Wily's Castle for the first time I felt invincible!! and this song brings back those feelings..... and then I saw the translation and it hits shockingly close to home..... being an adult sucks.....

They're just possibly not really famous outside of Japan, but it'd be great to see them in concerts, I know I'd go see that concert myself, there are also plenty of good Japanese bands but we just don't know about them outside of Japan despite how good they can be and have a lot of potential for the international scene...
