All strike groups converge onto a single massive jamming signal. They find a tower of canned beans and the singular sweatiest lightning pilot known to mankind.
Who would win? An entire grand fleet of cruisers, missile carriers, and aircraft carriers armed to the teeth with missiles, guns, and aircraft, built with enough electronics to sweep half of a planet to search for enemies, or... Some jammy boi
It's like one of these giant super-radars like the Duga but in reverse. For if you want to basically ruin the entire country's radar detection but also want to paint a huge target on yourself.
40000 km is basically the equator length of the Earth. So, you basically jamming the entire planet (though distances in this game make no sense for me).
here I was deliberately cutting jam range by blocking it so it's still useful for missile defense without attracting every SG, and then here you are jamming the entire planet lmao
@@kaptainbeans it's only a 50% cut in missile range (from 150km to 75km I think?) And attracts anti-radiation missiles like crazy, but sometimes comes in clutch (Mind you I can't speak for it's cost effectiveness because I usually prefer making one big super ship and horsing around with that)
Also the jammer isn't picked up by elint. Elint only detects radar pings what does pick up the jammer is radar. Radar is jammed and you get a general bearing of where you are being jammed from which is why the AI is very good at detecting you when you use a jammer. What the jammer is designed to do is making missile tracking impossible from radar guided missiles. The counter to this is the other missile which detects the radiation given off by radar and jammer allowing it to track any active radar or jamming emitter I believe it is the P missile. Also jammer doesn't completely jam the missile head it just significantly reduces the tracking cone in game im assuming the logic behind this is the missile has a back up infrared tracker that is shorter range.
radar can burn through jamming through proximity. jamming tends to be send out random bursts of radar pulses that look like radar returns to whoever is looking or just overloading the receiver with a much stronger signal like shining a bright flashlight in someones face, but that person has a flashlight of their own that is weaker. they can still see things up close from their own flashlight but until they move into that much smaller area all they ever see of you is a incredibly bright point of light just giving them a bearing but no information on distance. if there were multiple receivers they could triangulate the source of the jamming very quickly assuming the receivers can communicate, which is one reason jammers tend to also block radio transmissions while they are active
Just park one jammy boy somewhere in the desert, and force the enemy strike fleets come to you Fun fact: enemy strike fleets have fuel. If they run out in the midddle of the desert... woops What is the entire Gerat Defense fleet doing in the desert, Tarkhan?
Gerat must be massive. The distance from the north pole to south pole along the earth's surface is 20,000km. If you are able to jam that distance, you are likely able to cover the entire earth.
Well, it’s useful to setup an ambush or sending the enemy on a wild goose chase where you have a tanker with huge range just hopping around the empty space, and turn on the jammer to alert them and draw them to you with their missiles and planes while your actual task force is off somewhere else attacking
so the earth's diameter is ~12.8Mk, your jamming wraps around earth 4.3 times.. You just founded JETI (Jam (the fug out of) ExtraTerrestrial Intelligences) The distances in this game are pretty nuts, one single jammer makes it a third of the way around the globe, like you could have one of these on cyprus and jam all of europe
Remove “distances in this” from that sentence, this whole GAME is nuts! It’s funny how this planet of Elaat is so large and how ships could fly even with that kind of gravity
@@DGneoseeker1 It's not earth. It's a planet with two suns instead of one, called Elaat. It probably used to look like earth before the calamity, but now it's mostly desert. The lore is quite shaky, so don't quote me on that )
You can have your jamming fleet sit in a town jamming away until the town reports that fleet’s location. Keep jamming then move with the jammer off and when you hop around just keep jamming to have all enemies try and find the fleet that’s jamming
@@somethingdifferent1910 Jamming basically distorts radar, and any cruise missiles with radar search and track will have a smaller area of radar, so it will be harder to spot an object. This works only on radar-guided missiles, and the other type of missile (anti-radiation missile) will actually home in on jammers or radar signals
A jammer does kinda distort your real location on enemy radar (the grains on the radar screen) but the problem is that they will know you’re jamming and will start to use anti-radiation missiles (KH-15P, which locks ONTO radar or jammer)
@@kaptainbeans it makes no sense imo... for a game that has pretty realistic mechanics it feels like a exploit, definitely not how real world jammers work
