Nice video 👍🏽 I raise rabbits also but I don’t palpate them I usually look for weight gain n changes in behavior at about 2 weeks.I’ll try palpating tho
You can't really tell by looking if your rabbit did not come from a pure line. If you got rabbits from a breeder who is known to have pure bred California or say Silver Fox rabbits, they have distinct traits. If know what they look like then you can say. However if you are looking to get rabbits from a farmer who cross breeds different breeds, they might look like a California for example and be mixed with other breeds but you won't know for certain by just looking at them.
I had kits which I separated after 3months in which they may have already started having sex with their siblings. Couple weeks after I saw her pulling fur and put it in a corner. I gave her shrubs and she made a nest, only to find out it was a false pregnancy. I watched her for 5days and no babies.
Yes. They will do that. You have to separate them after 3 months. Otherwise they will start mating. That's why you have to palpate them to check for pregnancy otherwise you will have to wait for the 30 days to see. Which is a waste really if there is a way to find out before.
One fall off is good enough. But sometimes persons may do 2 or 3 just to make sure. It's not a big deal though, if you are not breeding rabbits commercially you can do 2 fall offs.
My female is pregnant. Idk how we separated her when she delivered from the male and from that she haven't had sex. That was a month ago. How is she pregnant!?
I'm not sure. She would have had to have contact with a buck for her to get pregnant. Maybe the buck got into the cage otherwise etc. Or you didn't take her out soon enough.
@@jshrabbits4227 maybe I didn't take her out soon enough I guess. It's just puzzling to me she just started to shed is it ok to put dry banana leaf in it to help her?
@@shortytravelchannel3410 when did she kindle? Before you separated her or after you separated her? The reason I ask is that mating can happen very quickly and can take place soon after kindling.
It's q possibility that he might do that b4 I came around there. I just checked ked on her and she JUST GAVE BIRTH TO 9 BABIES! WHAT! I'm so happy but so confused. I'm selling them as pets but how do I stop inbreeding? Could you advise me please?
The normal signs are not really very scientific. You can observe these behaviors and the rabbit is still not pregnant. 1. Aggressive behavior. 2. Not receptive to the buck. 3. Weight gain. 4. Nest making. There may be others but I can't recall anymore at this moment. Palpating is one simple way to tell if a rabbit is pregnant.
Why its the first time for me raising rabbits but i dont know why the female rabbit is so aggressive toward the male one since the other day is it that she could be pregnant
She could be pregnant. But I think the females are more territorial than the males. Question though. Do you take the male to the female cage or do you take the female to the male cage. If you put the male in the female's cage she may be more aggressive because he is in her territory. The correct thing is to take the female to the male cage. Or you can try a different buck. Maybe one that is bigger than the female.
I would like to have one of your white rabbits I would give you my address if you could send it to me and I could send you something to return I don't have much money but we could make a heck of a trade
